  1. Never used one, never damaged bearings and never sheared a bolt. I just tighten it up and then give it a tweak, oh never had one fall off either. When 30 miles after major service the sump plug is only held in by 3 threads then I won't believe a dealer who says all nuts/bolts are torqued as per manufacturers instructions. This was a major franchised (Triumph/Honda/Yamaha/Kawasaki & KTM) dealer in the South West.
  2. I have to recce a site for a bike show next weekend. The show is 4 Sept and all I have is a venue one club stand and a request for a 7.5 tonne truck for a helmet park. Need to get my arse in gear.
  3. Looked good, with the usual selection of all makes and style of bike. Gutted I didn't make it. Think I have a touch of manflu ! But I couldn't have ridden today, head is still banging. Have to do it another time.
  4. Soz I didn't make it. Suffering today after the ride yesterday, 'kin rain.
  5. If I can make it I will be with the green divvi at the M4 roundabout at Chepstow don't wait if I'm not there.
  6. Which Bridge are you using ?
  7. Will be trying to get over for it this year.
  8. This from the Met Office for the Newport area. Sun 4 Apr Day sunny intervals 10 °C WNW 18 mph 38 mph Very Good Night heavy rain 7 °C SSW 12 mph Poor Last updated: 0901 on Wed 31 Mar 2010 I'm riding to London on Saturday, so if I get too much of a drenching I may not feel up to it.
  9. Valid point, I must admit I've not used it in a while with being bikeless for a 2 months and landslides closing the road.
  10. Hi Wasted, NOOOOOOOOOO ! Come off M48 at Chepstow then take the road from Chepstow to Monmouth (A466) through Tintern Hang a left at the lights and down the A40 to Raglan and on to Aber. Return using either A4042 or A40/A449.
  11. I don't like being cold and wet but I prefer that to being stuck in a car.
  12. And post up which route your taking and what sort of time you expect to get to Abergavenney. I'll see how I'm fixed.
  13. Hi, No trial or pre qualifying, just register and take the right mindset with you. This (a SS1000) has been achieved on a 125 albeit in Finland but it should still be achievable on a 250 in UK. Be sure to read the 'hints & tips'. I can't remember what the smallest cc was last year but will try to find out.
  14. Had my vision blurred on more than one occasion during the ride. Anything is possible Crosses my mind at every Repat.
  15. I was top end in about the 6th or 7th row we left at about 1300ish. Before we Left Magor services M4 we had Gwent Police visit and wish us a safe ride also 3 on bikes who had the 'thank you' flags flying from their bikes.
  16. Well I would like to praise the Police and the marshalls who gave their time FoC to enable this event to take place. Knowing the majority were there from 0600 yesterday and some spent time on Saturday setting up. I also saw some sour faced, miserable bikers there. Firestorm we may well have been on the same ride I arrived at just turned 0930.
  17. All the more poignant for me as my pillion was Hazel Hunt. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/8567219.stm nice pro action shots of me new bike too
  18. I know what you mean, Work travel is not the same as leisure travel. Almost puts you off travel altogether.
  19. You could visit 'The Old Fox' on the Gloucester Road, have a chat in there they often have rideouts.
  20. My first ride proper of 2010 was 7 Feb Chorley to S.Wales via Blackburn & Bolton, 217 miles. First ride since the Draggie died in November

  22. Thanks for that tinkerbell, heres hoping. Still thinking about going to todays Repat, but being on nights 1300 is not a good time to have to be in WB from here.
  23. More pre-paint prep work than there is in cleaning.
  24. That white stuff is aluminium oxide. This is where the lacquer has come away. No easy fix, I would gently rub with scotchbrite and then use autosol to polish it up. It is not going to be easy and it will need regular attention. Love the exhaust repair, one to remember.
  25. There are two on A3102 on the way into WB.
