A Shed or an Armadillo cover?
Troy replied to Troy's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Well I'm planning to go into the tarmac, got the planning permission etc. from the local council. Was curious to know if the cover came with the ground bolts or if they had to be purchased separately. Also trying to get an idea if my hammer drill will do the job ok. -
A Shed or an Armadillo cover?

Did you bolt yours to the ground? If so, what surface did you put it on to? (Concrete, soil etc.) -
Going to get a better form of bike storage soon. Choices are to either buy a wooden shed or an armadillo cover. Don’t want to get a steel shed as I feel it draws too much attention. Wooden sheds will be more planted than an Armadillo cover, but will be more obvious that something of value is inside. And an armadillo cover will be more convientent for my needs as it’s quick and still allows me to use my parking space. Any input from anyone and all?

Just saw this out side my house. I was almost tempted but then thought about my bike and thought: "....nah."

Maybe interested in the pannier bags, tank bag, and tail bag. Some pics of them if possible please. Also front paddock stand possibly. -
FOR SALE : Scorpion end can
Troy replied to Glorian's topic in For Sale and Wanted - Motorbike related
Do you accept Jaffa Cakes over the interweb or would you like me to post you a box? Just to raise a word of whatever - fitting that will probably negate your warranty. I'd check it out, if it's important to you, before getting shot of your hideous exhaust. I will look into it before I decide anything. Thanks for the heads up! -

I can sell you a bike it will fit on if you like Still paying for this one mate but thanks for the offer. Would love to get an exhaust but I just can't shell out the money for it all on one go. From what I can see on the web, it's anywhere from £400+ -- £900 for an exhaust for my machine. Hence why I'm trying to look at ways I could cut back. I will be happy with just a slip-on but as you can see, mine isn't so simple. -

That's what I was afraid of. When look at it from a better angle, you can see why I'm not so sure I could even "force" it to fit without making major adjustments. -

Maybe interested.... but I know it won't be a straight fit on my current machine. Will need to find someone to make some edits and welds. I can strip an engine ok and put it back together again but fabricating isn't my scene. Forgive my next question that may sound naive, but I'm in need of an engineer right? Is that the correct profession? If I can find someone local to me, I will enquire. -
Compact, Quick, Easy setup 2 man tents...
Troy replied to Troy's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Well if it's like with most things: "You get what you pay for", then I'm unsure if a £20, 2-man tent will serve me well!? Ideally I'm looking to spend no more than £50 but I really have no idea if that's being reasonable in the world of camping. -
Many options are available. Scala Rider is good recommendation. I think it's a little out of your budget though, not 100% sure on the price. My device is operated using a single button to answer an incoming call. I would assume other manufacturers use a similar setup to make sure it's as safe as possible and requires minimum effort to answer a call.

Got my two kids these toy cars that can operate either via remote or the pedal. Both are operating by 27MHz remotes. The problem I'm having is they both operate while using one remote, which is annoying and unsafe in my opinion. After a little research I know I need to change the frequency. Any savvy minded bikers on this forum who can help? I'm confident to take things apart and swap bits over if necessary but I need some guidance.

If it's one of these helmets, then they look 'old school' which is what stands out to me. Nice to see it being kept alive! Can't speak for comfort or safety though as I haven't owned one. Prices look reasonable.

Wish me luck with unusual request!
Troy replied to TunnelEyes's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
It may work out for you. A potential instructor I was looking into, said he was happy for me to pay in small pieces as long as it was paid off by test day. It may work out! -
Seen a 2008 C-Max for £1,600. It's a 1.6 Diesel with 139,000 miles on the clock, which is the bit that puts me off. Owner said it had a new clutch and cam belt at 120,000 miles and a new water pump at 130,000. Not drove it yet but I wanted to get opinions from others. What's everyone's thought and feelings?

Advice for someone wanting to get into riding
Troy replied to John3389's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
If you can be patient, then I would wait until your 24. While waiting, get your CBT done to get a feel for riding and that way you can can get some practice of riding on the roads. Lots of nice 125 options out there and even some nice machines suitable for an A2 license if you want to do it now. You can get one of these on an A2.... CBR500R -
bt intacom 1200 or similar?? like this DO NOT GET THEM WET!! ours were fine until a downpour Not those ones exactly but something similar. I personally don't ride in the rain so my intercom wouldn't get wet so I can't comment on the weather proofing.
