  1. I’ve posted this on another forum (forgive me Stu!) to get an insight of their opinions also. It’s a construction forum hence I felt it was relevant to post there as well. Yes, you are only getting one side of the story but feel free to ask as your questions to get a more accurate picture. Thank you for all your comments so far.
  2. I will be making note of that site and will be calling them for some advice. I am more concerned that my situation could be more complicated being self employed.
  3. Hello all! I'm in a little jam of a situation. I want your input to get your thoughts and get an idea of where I might stand. I am planning a trip to the C.A.B. to discuss the matter further. I became self-employed about a year ago now, met a building firm who agreed to send me to college to study Carpentry, all this was verbal nothing written or contracted, a year later (now) I have decided to find another job closer to home and it pays more. I let my employer know, they threw a hissy-fit stating they will want all their money back invested: college, wages, van expenses etc... and will be drawing this all up in a legal letter from their solicitors. A few side notes: I was having a little trouble funding fuel costs and I put this to my employer who said they will help me a little but it was their own words who said to me... "I think you should find another job..." so I did! Also, it was a company vehicle but I was expected to pay for fuel and nothing else, so all other expenses on the van was paid such as tax and insurance. This started out to be ok in the beginning but it got hard when I was on little money and was expected to travel 1hr 30 mins+ each way some weeks. And finally what made my year, I found out that all other employees on the firm received an "end of Year bonus" but I was deliberately left out and this was not a mistake because one of the other employees who got their bonus gave me half and said that didn't agree with what has been done... "your one of the team as well" I was told... Discuss below!
  4. You may benefit from buying a pivoting mount for the camera. The pivoting mounts come with like a long arm and can mounted in a much further back position. All you need to do then is get the angle right for your image. If this makes any sense?
  5. does it record constantly or does it record in minute segments like a dash cam??? It can record continuously or in segments. This is all done by the settings and how you choose to set it up. when the memory card is full does it just stop recording or does it loop record (delete oldest)??? I’ve not filled my memory card yet so I can’t comment on this question fully. Most devices usually just stop recording. What I can say though, it has a setting where you can “loop record” - to my understanding this records in 1-10 minute segments (your choice) that records over and over until you stop it manually. It deletes all the previous footage to save on storage space until you stop it manually, then that is the file it will store and save. what's the biggest card it supports some say 64 others 128gb?? It will support any, if not all memory cards regardess of how big the memory card starage space is. As long as it’s compatible, it should be ok. Something I will add, the higher quality you want capture footage in, then the more space you use up in shorter time. For example;- Recording in 720p at 30fps uses less space than recording in 4K at 60fps. its designed to be on the side of a helmet BUT its not waterproof ??? I’ve used my camera in heavy down pours with no issues. The manual does say it’s suitable to be used in rainy conditions. There is also a case you can buy for it to further increase its weather-proofing but unless your planning to go surfing with it then I wouldn’t bother.

    Brakes binding...

Thanks for the comments, i’lI pass the info forward. What does this mean for my bike then, Or others who ride mostly at summertime? I don’t have this problem and I’m sure most others don’t when their bike has been sitting around for some time until it’s used. Unless I should really be checking every time in case they do bind.

    Brakes binding...

I’m asking this on behalf of a friend..... What causes brakes to bind? How can they be unsiezed? I was planning to go out on the bike tomorrow with a friend who has a ZX9R 2002 who’s brakes keep seizing after the bike has been unused for 2-3 months. It’s annoying because I get all hyped to get out then to find I’m riding solo (not as much fun for me)
  8. I read somewhere once;- “if you can get off your bike and walk away from it without looking back... then you’ve got the wrong bike.” I’m guessing this phrase fits in well with what your trying to say?
  9. I live in Eastbourne! I don’t get chance to get out much but that’s partly due to not having many to ride with during the week. I’m wanting to go out for evening rides lately, especially during the warmer months but not much fun on your own so I don’t bother. I’m not familiar with any clubs but there is about four of us (myself included) who meet most Sunday mornings at the King’s Arms Pub in Ninefield for 6:30-6:45am for a “quickish” ride to Newhaven McD’s for breakfast. After breakfast, we’re normally heading back home by 8am due to family commitments and other priorities. It’s not a crazy ride-out but it’s enough to ‘cure the itch’. I suppose you could decribe it like this;- “Four very busy blokes looking to let off some steam, without any heroics involved.”
  10. I got a Ghost Drift 4K...so far it’s great. I know it’s not the same as the one your asking about but from a Brand point-of-view, it’s pretty good. Not the cheapest out there but it “does what it says on the tin”. Caught some good footage of other road users behaving like plums!! https://driftinnovation.com/products/ghost-4k
  11. I’m too far away to come and try it on myself.... can you give us twirl in it?
  12. I think I may of just found something.... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs8_n_pLjMo
  13. This may sound strange but here me out first... I have to make about an hour journey to work at the moment and I’m trying to travel as light as possible. I already own over-the-top rain gear but when I have to wear it, it really restricts my movement. I can’t take other layers off either due to it being too cold without them. Anyone got some advice? Other than wearing a bin-liner underneath!?
  14. If you can’t find a ramp to borrow or buy, have you thought about trying to buy/build one out of timber? You should be able to get what you need from Wickes or B&Q for less than £20.
  15. I understand. If you change your mind, I’ll happily take them
  16. Could you box them for delivery? I’ll pay of course Eastbourne BN22
  17. I have just had someone local stick their hand up for it. They are planning to get it tomorrow. If the deal doesn’t go ahead, I will notify you.
  18. One of these... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BPe3T-QUBUE ....Is Free to collect to anyone who wants to come and claim it from Eastbourne. It’s the large size so it will fit up to 6 motorcyles if they are parked correcty, although I only use it for the one I own. It’s only about 3 months old. To give you an idea of how big it is once it is setup, it will fit comfortably inside a standard car parking space, like the ones you find at your local supermarkets. Now for the bad bit... It has been attempted to of been stolen twice now and with a very “calm” chat with the wife, WE have agreed to put the bike in the house going forward, therefore making this cover useless to me now. It’s not damaged but it has been modified slightly. To be more precise, I have siliconed a concrete board to the frame work for two reasons... 1) Prevent it from moving in the wind 2) Prevent it from being stolen All that’s required of the new owner is to come and collect it and help me to help you remove the silicon. Make sure you bring a hacksaw and Stanley knife too help cut through the silicon. Comes with all nuts and bolts and it’s original case. If there are any nuts or bolts missing (which there shouldn’t be) you can always get replacements from your local screwfix stores etc. I ask nothing for this in return except that you come and collect it and we will dismantle it together for easy transportation. This is a real bargain here for a ‘flash’ bit of kit that cost me just under £200 and it could be YOUR’s for nothing but a little elbow grease. Item is located in EastBourne BN22
  19. Hi all! Im currently going through some home improvements and need all the cash I can get to help along the way. I currently have about £50.00 left on my Amazon account which I am hoping someone on here maybe able to use more than me at the moment. How I see things going are as follows... • I buy the item you would like using my Amazon account. • You transfer me the equivalent in cash either via Bank or PayPal • I have the item delivered to your home address If anyone on here can benefit from this trade like I can, post below and hopefully we can sort something out. If you need any persuasion if you can trust this deal, I have only purchased something from this site once before which if I remember correctly came from Six30?! It was a waterproof jacket. All went well I can also resend you confirmation emails about delivery too if it helps and pics.
  20. Ok, the cover is now back up and seems functional. I went to Wickes and got of these to day as a temporary solution to try and “slow down” these thieves..... I got it because if they can remove the ground bolts I had in, then I know there is little I can do to stop them. I’m hoping that lifting a concrete board will slow them for now. I also used a very generous amount of TWO full tubes of silicon to attach the metal base plate to the frame and concrete board. So if they want the cover, they’re gonna have no choice but to carry that lump of concrete with them. I finally went to ScrewFix and pick up these as well...
  21. Ok, I got an Armadillo Cover in the end. Something happened during the night though. I’m split if it was the wind that caused it or someone tried to steal it. I’ve lost an expensive cover in the past before and if I hadn’t of chained the Armadillo cover to the front wheel, I’m convinced the Armadillo cover would of went this time too. I got notified by a neighbour this morning that my cover was laying flat on the floor. After some investigating there are signs that the wind “could” of taken it out of the ground but that didn’t explain why I had some nuts and bolts completely dismantled. I am going to buy two ground anchors this morning and some more chain. Your supposed to use those for bikes, not covers

  23. I have a created a topic about the same gadget, hoping to find out more info about it and reviews from others who have tried one. It looks great!
  24. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=t79P91QaOWk Jam curious to know if these are any good. I love the idea of it and I think I will find it beneficial to my riding. Not fussed about video capture or photos though. I’m hoping that some other companies will make their own versions that are a little cheaper though, it does have a broad market I think.
