  1. Wow that looks like it's in great nick. Let us know how the DAS goes.
  2. I didn't make it there. There's always next year.
  3. This is my problem. I used to go running and for some reason never got bored, it was always fun to go for a run. Then I hurt my neck a few years ago and that put the end to running. Since then I've tried swimming and I've tried going to the gym but I found them both really dull.
  4. Very nice, Stu. Never yet found and Arai to fit my head.
  5. That's a nice bonus!
  6. I'm going on the 24th, in case anyone going that day wants to meet up. Probably get there for 11 and be there for the rest of day.
  7. You're just an amateur, mate. Nothing compared to the lady on the bicycle I was following a couple of weeks ago. When we got to the roundabout, our ways parted, even though, as it turned out that we both were turning right: I went around the roundabout, while she - clearly a quick thinker - opted for the more direct, anticlockwise route. Against the flow of two lanes of traffic. In the rush hour. In the dark. With no lights. We met up again at the exit to the roundabout. She seemed a bit surprised to see me, while I was amazed that she was still alive.

    Secret Santa

Ok, count me in. (got a nasty feeling I'm gonna end up regretting this)

    MOROCCO TRIP

Have a great trip - it looks like an amazing tour. I guess you know to watch out for the snow: the roads in the High Atlas can be closed in bad weather.
  10. Don't know if this helps, but it's the best explanation I've found of how to get a motorcycle licence: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/551465/routes-to-your-motorcycle-licence.pdf This is the bit on how to get an A2 licence. http://i.imgur.com/7N7zPy9.png So, if you've already got a valid CBT, it means you don't have repeat it again (as long as it's still valid i.e. less than two years old.) You also don't need to do your theory test until you come to do the first module of the 2-part practical test. And once you've got the A2, this is how to convert it to a full A licence: http://i.imgur.com/T5rtRVH.png Basically, you have to do the same two part practical test again, but on a bigger bike.
  11. Had the Forcefield one for a few years, and I use it every ride, just like my helmet. The only days I notice it are when it's really hot.
  12. I reckon all the above is good advice. When my missus did her CBT, she also found it hard to get much above 30, and the instructor advised her to go and ride around on a 125 for a while, to build her confidence up. My guess is that, if they feel someone's going to need a bit of time to do this, then they advise this as it's going to work out cheaper than continuing with lessons. But it's up to you; whichever way you choose, you'll continue to learn. Even if you can get a 125, then you might want try doing something like one lesson every month or two, so you continue to get some instruction as you go.
  13. Wow those FIFA guys are so politically correct. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/news/2016/03/17/fifaseven_3318978b-large_trans++pJliwavx4coWFCaEkEsb3kvxIt-lGGWCWqwLa_RXJU8.jpg
  14. ... And now you have to keep them for ever and ever [emoji16]
  15. Wow, a sad tale. Moraira always seems so peaceful, like nothing like that could happen there.
  16. I like the fact its a quiet helmet and has decent airflow which is a must on my bike! I get a lot of engine heat The GT Air is a nice lid. Not as quiet as the Qwest, but still pretty quiet especially when the front vent is closed. It used to fog up on me badly with the chin curtain in, but it's fine now I've removed it. Best of all, it's really really comfortable.
  17. Sounds like great progress. All the best with the test

    First Bike!

    K2. Very nice bike
  19. It was Bridge St, by Magdalene, the narrow bit over the bridge itself. I've given up on Devonshire Road for the time being. I got fed up at having to dash from gap to gap or die. Sniper alley.
  20. Had almost exactly this a couple of the weeks. We got to the bit where the bike stopped but maintained position. Then the car kept edging towards me until he finally made contact with my crash bars. He seemed very put out when I told him he'd hit me.
  21. So, even assuming this crackpot idea worked, the idea is to make it easier to see by sticking a whacking suction cup on your visor and blocking your line of sight with a propeller? Vorsprung durch Technik??
  22. Just got this email: Not a hope here of course - thick cloud and lashings of light pollution.
  23. I don't mind completing a survey if it helps someone out who's doing their degree. But I'm a bit puzzled - what is it about undergraduate projects and surveys? I guess I'm very old fashioned, but back in the previous millennium we spent our time learning stuff and doing exams
  24. Well done mate. If you want to test bikes at mc live, you'll need to get there first thing; the test slots get booked up pretty quickly. It's still worth going though just to sit on the bikes and see how they feel.
