  1. All the best! Bear in mind that, during the figure of 8 and the slalom, you can go as wide as you like - there are no extra points for staying near the cones.
  2. @MicklyYeah, completely and 100% agree. There's a balance to be had somewhere.
  3. Yeah good luck. Remember your lifesavers (and cancel your indicators of course).
  4. Wow, that's great that you've your lad riding
  5. I don't normally do petitions, but this one seems worth a few clicks of a mouse: Give police stronger powers to tackle motorcycle theft & increase penalties - Petitions
  6. Welcome back buddy. How are things? You riding anything these days?

    Backpacks

Agree. The quoted weights are always very conservative.
  8. Yeah, you can. I've got an mri universal screen that I stick on the drz in winter. It's ugly but good for keeping the cold air off my chest.

    Backpacks

The great thing about a top box is that you can lock it shut and lock it to the bike. But they hold the weight high and you'll notice a difference with those locks inside. If security wasn't an issue, and if I had the space on the pillion seat, I'd go for the tail bag.
  10. Hi there, Are you then looking for one here in the UK or Europe?
  11. If you're commuting you really want a screen. Some fairings too to keep your legs dry - semi faired will do. A top box is perfect for a commute, but make sure its big enough for a laptop or whatever it is you need to take in with you. A Lomo bag on a rack or the pillion seat is not a bad alternative, but you don't want to be lugging stuff around in a rucksack... it soon gets wearying. For secondhand, You might add a vstrom 650 or a versys 650 to your list. An sv650s isn't a bad option, and cheap as chips, but you'd have to sort something out for luggage. If you're looking at new or newish then I'd be taking a look at what cfmoto or voge have to offer. But it's not worth buying new if there's no dealer support near you.
  12. Didn't know Bikesure would do that. Thanks for the update.
  13. My grandsons have both had balance bikes and became very good on them. Transferring to a pedal bike has been really easy for them. But I think my son would be looking for something a bit more hipster than "Suzuki". Perhaps some home-roasted eco coffee thing.
  14. Hello mate. Blimey you're getting old. Hope you have a great day.
  15. Looks like Reiten is on the list of afternoon jaunts this summer

    Introduction

Welcome in. That's nice selection you've got there
  17. Oh no... pushing a bike isn't a lot of fun.
  18. I'm with @Simon Davey on this. Also, if you've let your tyres get worn out and develop a flat profile, that can make the bike wobble when you're rounding a bend or corner. If that's the cause, all you need to fit it is new tyres and the wobble goes. But your bike shouldn't wobble when the tyres are set up right, even with the stock width.
  19. My fitbit tells me I've been mountain biking when I've been out on the bike, and that I need to eats lots of ice cream and cheese to make up for the lost calories. Who am I to argue?

    Orkney Biker

Welcome in Phil. The Pan looks fantastic. A Honda man throughout, I see: very wise. If you look at my bikes you will see where I'm coming from.

    Returning biker

Hi Mike. Welcome to the forum.
  22. @Fozzie That sounds like she's signed up on the line. Yup, I had a go on it. It was just a tad tall for me, but I'd have been happy to ride it. I'm 5' 7" on a tall day, 30" inseam. As for for bars, my arms were comfortable, just a bit bent. But I think you'd have to give it a go yourself to find out whether there's a position on the seat that works for you.
  23. Keep practising and it will come in time.
  24. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes to end. It gets a lot of flack on places like reddit.
  25. Yeah, I went and had a blast. But it's been a while since I went to a show, and I went expecting little, so I was easily pleased. I thought Capital Moto had brought along a good range of Yamahas, and I had a bit of a laugh seeing how far my legs would have to grow to reach the ground on the Low Tenere. The BMW stand seemed to have everything you'd want to see, and I reminded myself again why I don't want another GS. I noticed the missing NX500 at the Honda stand; it would have been good to have seen it there, but they must have had 20 different models to try out, so they put some effort in. The KTMs were brought along by a dealer in London, and you're right, there weren't many there; they had to share the stand with MV Agustas and a few others. HD had a good stand though, and you could sit on them all, too. Made me realise I'd never want to own one. No Guzzis anywhere to be seen; that was a pity. And like you said, no Voge.
