  1. Dunno but if you find out the answer please post it here. Ta.
  2. This one I guess? https://superbikefactory.co.uk/2021-bmw-s1000xr-red-with-2570-miles/ It's marked as reserved; does that mean you've only paid a deposit? If so, just walk away. You'll have done well to get away just £99 lighter. Pity isn't it? They have loads of bikes and they all great in a browser. And some of them are pretty good in real life too. Too many, though, are completely untouchable.
  3. That's interesting. Going to have to try that one myself.
  4. Agg. £1800. That's painful. Well done for keeping on going at it. I'm really surprised you were failed for stalling the bike just once. Even the police are allowed to stall once in their training (although for them, it's once in five full days of riding ). As for passing the car too close, you will do yourself a favour if you always keep a full car-door's length between you and any parked car. Doesn't make any sense to put yourself in the danger zone. But you may go closer if you know the car is empty. When I failed my mod 1, I went to another trainer, and they were happy to take me through whatever training I needed to get me through mod 1 and 2 - it was about two extra lessons, that's all. I'd say move on and find someone who likes you and who'll give you the training you need. I'd suggest dropping in on them at the end of the day (4:30-5pm ish) for a quick chat if you can. You get a lot more feedback face to face.
  5. Nice one buddy. I'm impressed you've managed to get out every day. You wait, when the weather's good and roads are dry it gets even better.
  6. Great write up mate. Ta. You've just helped me decide. There's place nearby in Norfolk that does a thing like this, but Norfolk isn't known for its hills... I think I'm going to head for Wales if I can.
  7. That's a shame. It's such a real barrier to folk finding out what it's like to get on a bike and ride. I got into it because it was a good way of commuting; free and easy to park, and I never got stuck in traffic. As an expensive hobby, it loses a lot its appeal.
  8. Have you tried fully comp? For me it's usually cheaper than TPFT, but might not be for you.
  9. Yup. There's definitely a first-year premium: first year on a bike, first year over 600cc, first year over a litre.
  10. Welcome in.
  11. I've been on a couple of rides with groups on fb. Mostly grumpy old men with perma-scowls (credit to @ChrisBiggsUK for that addition to the lexicon) but some younguns there too. Worth a try at least.
  12. Oh. Interesting. You going to do us the favour of a write up?
  13. Yup I agree. The silver isn't right.
  14. Sorry mate. It truly was a charmed land.
  15. That's a bit shite. Dunno what's happened to Ireland. It seemed like a magical place when I used to visit back in the eighties. It was a place where you could read 'At Swim Two Birds' and it all made perfect sense. Now it's where wealthy geeks go and buy multi million euro homes with views over Dublin Bay. The little people must be packing their bags and emigrating.
  16. Wish I could explain it buddy, but sometimes the quote machine seems like a random number generator to me. Some folk on here have worked in insurance so they might be able to shed some light on it. @Bikesureused to comment here occasionally, but I've not seen them post anything for a while.
  17. My light tint is too dark at night. It's not great even on a winters day. In summer, I carry a clear one with just in case I get caught and have to home in the dark. I get my visors from aliexpress. They work out at about £10 each delivered. They fit as well ascrge originals. I often get a new clear one in November if I think the old one is a bit scratched. At that price having two or three isn't a big issue.
  18. Happy birthday !
  19. Great bike. Congrats.
  20. This is a great idea. I be interested to see if it's worth going down to one bike and getting the second on this flexible seasonal lease. It would be great if it meant I could ride a different bike every summer.
  21. My experience with Sidis is they come in fairly narrow. At least for me - my feet are like plates.
  22. Welcome, from north east Suffolk
  23. 50% of is cool
