  1. Feeling a bit sad this am - weather forecast said 'RAIN' so i took the cage to work. Thank you White Audi (with a personalised number plate) driver who did his very best to cheer me up! Heading South on the A1 towards the 'new' Biggleswade roundabout. He is a couple of cars behind in the right-hand queue. Left-hand queue moving quicker - he darts across cutting up a van..... Anyhoo, the right-hand lane moves slightly quicker and he is now alongside me with two lorries immediately in front of him. I get as far as adjacent to the cab of the rear lorry and he cuts in behind me - to the anoyance of the car (blue Ford something) behind who sounds his horn and flashes his lights. Traffic is again slowing and I only get half-way along the side of the second lorry before the lorries start to pull slowly ahead. This situation continues to yo-yo along the road and up the hill towards the Baldock turning. I start to move ahead again and get to the front of the lead lorry only to see the Audi virtually on my rear bumprer, indicating left and flashing his lights so,......... Yarp - I become a real NOB and stay with the lorry until we eventually reach the next queue approaching Stevenage (where I turn off). I think I made his day!!!!
  2. Sweet Virginia - Rolling Stones
  3. yes ... interesting concept on a 125 .. hopefully OP will let us know how he gets on with that one I sometimes drop down a gear or two when going uphill, and I have got a 1000cc bike!! So why not do it on a 125? Edit. In fact I can't think of one mode of transport where the need to drop down a gear isn't required at times From max revs (limited - see OPs comment) in 4th - drop down two gears and....... Pick yourself up. Pick the bike up and check for damage. Replace rear tyre, chain, sprockets and trousers!
  4. Weather looking OK (ish) for this evening.
  5. I assume you have checked the connections (tightness / corrosion / etc.)?
  6. Get a Chinese bike, you'll definitely outlast that My on-line 'date of death' calculation came out as being 102!!!! Must be the longevity output from the Rocket.
  7. And 'as a 'rocket scientist' I can also point out that it is hardly photogaphic imagery science for them either!
  8. I Feel Free - Cream
  9. Not many there last night - Weather was OK but COLD>>>>
  10. Check that the chain tension is correct and that it is lubricated. if the chain is OK, check wheel bearings by holding the bike steady and trying to move the top of the wheel towards/away from you (sideways) - There should be no movement. if that is also OK, it may be simply a stone/nail in the tyre - check the surface of both tyres. If none of the above, then you need someone with more knowledge to check it - fellow biker in the area?
  11. Sorry mate but the Easter Bunny was eaten by the Tooth Fairy sometime during early March. This had the unwanted side effect of giving the Tooth Fairy stomache cramps and therefore 'He' could not get round to the little children who had put their (removed) tooth under their pillow. Furthermore, that made them (the children) decide that, rather than trust in the Tooth Fairy giving them a silver coin, they would ask an adult (but apparantly both Rolf and Jimmy seem to have dissapeared). Sad times all round.
  12. I plan to 'do' Wales in the summer!
  13. Updated Map Listing (added a few Post Codes and corrected a couple of spelling errors). Don't forget, if the 'Tag' is difficult to get to for a picture, then the sign with the tag name on it is OK. NB. Orford Castle is at the end of a good biking road!
  14. Tattershall Castle Top Tip - Follow the signs to the Church to Park - It is closer and easier than using the carpark. Newark Castle Carpark is quite a way off the Castle!
  15. Yarp - Still got one of those. i have sold my Dragon 64 though. NB. The cheapest X-Box costs virtually nothing - just get any old carton and set fire to it! (get it?).
  16. Norwich Castle Framlington Castle Orford Castle Colchester Castle Hedingham Castle Walden Castle
  17. Weather warming up - Dominoes season almost completed - Time to think about going t'Swan again? Deffo!
  18. I 'looked' as I was thinking of attending!
  19. As with most things, its only as good as the person using it. Never had any problems using 'Instant Gasket (silicone)'; Red or Blue Hermatite. I have also cut my own gaskets from both Cork sheets and sheets of 'greasproof' paper / oil paper.
  20. However, (and please take this as friendly advice and not 'a dig') you stated that you were well aware that the lorry was looking to pull out (you had moved over in anticipation), yet you did not consider that the lorry driver may not have spotted the mini (or had assumed that it would also move over) and that, worst case, the lorry hits the mini forcing a damaged car into you immediate path! Although the Lorry (and to a certain extent - the mini) are at fault, you too have a responsibility to be aware and reduce the hazard (i.e. slow down and be prepared to stop). even if the fault is definitely someone elses, you need to be aware that everyone out there is trying to kill you and be prepared to take avoiding action. Well done for surviving this one but please be wary of any more instances of this type of thing happening - it is much too common!
  21. Pleanty available (free) - Just need to get them over the security fence in Calais.
  22. Bring your Gran!
