  1. Not too enthusiastic I trust, you have work tomorrow.
  2. Two lanes onto the island and two lanes off. You are fine following the “red” line.
  3. It’s a bike without pedals
  4. Like @Mississippi BullfrogI always wear a balaclava so no direct contact with the liner.
  5. I know what you say about staying with the sane company. I use Devitt as a broker and they regularly offer a different underwriter / insurer. If and when I change insurer there is no problems with NC etc as Devitt hold all my insurance details re NC accidents etc.
  6. The motor industry buy in parts from other suppliers/ car manufacturers. PSA for instance supply engines and gearboxes to many other manufacturers.
  7. Me too. The hall has got smaller and there are fewer bikes being shown over the years. But I think the same is true for the NEC.
  8. Not been since @Hoggs moved out of London. the last time we went it was not a good show so as so many exhibitors had been thrown out for trying to sell knock off items and of none CE “safety” clothing.
  9. Not always. When Honda were building the plant in Swindon I was the electrical design engineer for one of the main contractors. i ended up being responsible for a large portion of the Japanese design team ( for our section of the plant) being replaced when I started to point out that large section of their flow diagram was incorrect and would not work. there were so many simple process errors that I began to question lol the design parameters but trying not to upset the Japanese mentality. I suppose it was when I was so fed up with the errors that I for got diplomacy and stated “ I suppose when we get the over temperature alarm you want the heating to stop, not carry on as per the flow diagram”. The room went quiet the meeting was ended aaand I never saw several of the engineers again. so much for testing everything before hand.
  10. One place I worked at bought in flexi time. You had to work the core hours but as long as you got in the require hours in the month all was good. The downside was we now had to “clock in” with a card. However your in time started as soon as you clocked in and stopped when you clocked out. As I always got in approx 15 minutes early (to miss traffic) without changing my work pattern I now accrued at least an additional 15 minutes paid time each day. this all added up to 6 additional days off each year and early finish every Friday and more paid overtime.
  11. If there are any spacers in the wheels take them out and remember which goes where.
  12. I’ve used simply bearings. but they were quarter inch OD and 1/8th inch ID shielded 2off we’re £4. they are fine, but for my RC 300 mm long racing RC boat.
  13. Wet belts are a nightmare. The oil, if not changed regularly and with the correct type, caused the belts to shed particles which contaminates the oil. With Ford the wet belts are on the Ecoboost 3 cylinder 1.0 ltr engines but not the 1.5. And the 1.5 Ecoboost can have their own problems with coolant leaks But they are fitted to some of the transit vans. It’s not easy to look at as type of engine and know what is what. i believe a lot of the PSA development engines are also wet belt. even some engines that have dry belts or chain sometimes have wet belts to drive the oil pumps. All to save some decibels and fractions of MPG and CO2.
  14. A lot depends on the bike. My GSF1250 has an average of 49mpg over the last 33000 miles and it regularly gets into the 50’s which is a lot better than the GSX1250 as the bandit has a softer “tune”. Designed for touring torque not high horsepower and high speed.
  15. But but it lights up and the motors rev.
  16. Whenever the police act these days there is always a lawyer that surfaces to say that the actions or arrests are not legal.
  17. I have a home made device similar to the Healtech. 12v relay connected to an ignition switched cable. For me the tail lights. Then 12 supply via a normally open contact to a terminal block where the accessories are connected.
  18. I did that on a lambretta LI150. Speedo needle was so far off the clock it couldn’t be seen. When it locked up don’t know who was more worried, me or the car behind me. Pulled clutch in coasted to bottom of hill and when the Speedo was reading about 30 dropped the clutch, engine fired up so I rode home. Took the head off didn’t look too bad, put it back together and continued to ride it.
  19. Are you left handed? I prefer left hander bends.
  20. @Egon247 my GPX750R used the same pads front and rear.
  21. Hi and welcome
  22. Apparently they were dropped as sponsors last year.
  23. Many years ago some low life’s tried to steal my car from the works carpark. In trying to defeat erring lock they snapped the steering column.. Was fun watching the recovery guy driving it onto a low loader using a pair of mole grips on the remaining bit of steering column. The car was a cavalier SRI 140, no power steering.
  24. Hi and welcome
