  3. Apparently they were dropped as sponsors last year.
  4. Many years ago some low life’s tried to steal my car from the works carpark. In trying to defeat erring lock they snapped the steering column.. Was fun watching the recovery guy driving it onto a low loader using a pair of mole grips on the remaining bit of steering column. The car was a cavalier SRI 140, no power steering.

  7. I like @rennie Friday statement, it helps me set the calendar so I know what day it is.
  8. Also if you have a breakdown/recovery policy on the car check that it covers trailers.

    Happy Birthday

Not quite a happy birthday @Mississippi Bullfrog, postpone it till another day
  10. One of the car parks in Leamington removed the dedicated bike parking to add 2 additional car spaces and then added steel hoops to chain push bikes to. If you can manage to get a motorcycle in you may not be able to get it out on returning due to push bikes and mopeds shoehorned in. Stratford, on the other hand, has a large motorcycle free parking area.

    Owner clubs

Back in the 1980’s when I had my first Suzuki I joined the SuzukiOwnersClub. Apart from the key ring didn’t get much out of it. The meets were not very regular and far from me. Later on when I got the Kawasaki GPX750 I joined the KWAKS OWNERS CLUB. Initially set up as a group for GPX and GPZ bikes but soon opened to all Kawasaki models. Was a good group, regular news letter sent out. several ride outs each year. We always had a stand at most of the classic bike venues, Stamford, Peterborough and many others. I did go and do stand duty on many times. for me it was a sad time when the club unfortunately folded. There was tons of Kawasaki bike information lost. It briefly re surfaced on FB but that soon fell out of use. Since the demise of that group never bothered joining another owners club.

There was a guy where I worked that was past normal retirement age. His response as to why he was still working was: I don’t pay NI now so that allows me to do a 4 day week and get virtually the same pay. I work in an air conditioned/ heated office so that’s a saving on my house hold bills and I have no family so I might as well be at work. Me, I retired as soon as I could afford to, didn’t wait to 66.
  15. I have paddock stands and an ABBA stand. it is possible to remove the wheels using paddock stands, but using the ABBA stand is easier and more secure.
