1. Mine is on the bike fairing. That makes it easy to wire into the bikes system so it starts to record with the ignition On and stops when the ignition is off. This also means it is not reliant on its internal battery. Downside is that the field of view is fixed. Mounted on the helmet means it records what you look at.
2. D rings gets easier to fasten as you use it.
3. All of the above, but mainly cost/time. The cable can be cut, stripped and crimped in auto machines Wiring looms are then made up on a jig. Soldering takes more time and not so easy on a cable loom production.
4. I usually crimp as it is easier and quicker but use the correct crimp tool for the size of connectors.
5. Hi could you send me the detail for the insurance company. Don’t think you will get an answer. Run13 has not been on the forum since Feb 2018!
6. You are correct https://www.highwaycodeuk.co.uk/roundabouts.html Don’t think anyone reads this any more
7. I didn't realise they even went this high until i saw some at the shop tonight, I thought £300 was about the ceiling. Bought them at the London bike show 3 or 4 years ago, can’t remember senility kicked in, cost about £300 show price so in my mind good value.
8. I don't really have one, I am more interested in value. If a pair of boots will last me 10 years of dry feet comfortable commuting but cost £250 then that's better than a pair that cost £100 but last a year before falling apart. What do you call an arm or leg. I have Dayton GTX gore-tex. not cheap but comfortable and waterproof.
9. Might be an idea to let us know your budget.
10. On the GPX good hour. 5 min to change the lamps rest of the time to remove belly pan fairing and headlamp. Then replace it all. On the half faired Bandit 15 min for both and a couple of plasters.( didn’t remove the fairing hence the plasters for the knuckles)
11. Ahh but she is now inferring there was no consent. “I was trafficked “, she says. Either way it just shows, again, he mixes with the wrong crowd.
12. XTreme don’t usually go out in those conditions but a dental appointment called. Car would have taken 2 to 3 time as long. Roads were very damp and slippy in some areas. But there are times when the sky is blue and roads traffic free. I’ll try and get some next year just for you.
13. Not done as much as I should
14. 21 amps or volts or ohms But probably 21 deg F.
15. XTreme just for you. I braved the elements and got this. Roads still wet so picture quality soon became poor.
16. And don't expect it to get any easier Rich! Every year that passes you feel it more........you're on the downward spiral now. Me and @Fred are way past that point........we've now in freefall! But I was only 17 yesterday....or so it feels how does time go so damn quickly feels like you blink and that's another day gone Just remember, you’re only as old as you feel. I feel like a 21 year old... Trouble is I can’t find one.
17. The XCP is a thick treatment and says on through washes. So does ACF . The Scottoil is water based so it washes off easily. I used waxoyl treatment on my early cars. They still rusted though.
18. Good item in January’s ride mag. Long term test on corrosion inhibitors. WD40 comes 4th out of 5 beating Scottoil FS365. Top is XCP and AFC50 close second.
19. Picture freezes
20. I've been thinking of setting up one of those voyeur places too *wink-wink* hadn't considered the garage though - it'd need a fair bit of insulation before the girls would agree to spend much time in there. I’m sure you would be able to keep them warm.
21. There are 2 others n the forum map. Click on the map icon next to FAQ at the top of the page. Don’t know if they are still active though.
22. Was already looking for the photo Stu . These are the problems with none std exhausts.
23. Found one.
24. Keep up
25. When the rain stops I’ll find my side cases and post a picture.
