  1. Thanks lads. I've just bought a load for our holiday on Saturday. So will just have to just toot it. Will look at getting the gear to make my own when I get back. So expect a lot of questions
  2. Wouldn't the camera suffer very bad vibration mounted on the bike?
  3. Anyone know much about Hangsen branded oil?
  4. Damn it! I can't spend anymore money on anything remotely to do with bikes until after our holiday. Some damn good bargains there, all though not much in the fatbastard sizes.
  5. Cheers for that Mr Fro. I'll do just that!
  6. Not sure Mr Librarian. It's a lot lower than the house as we live on a hill. Having to watch the pennies on it all. Btw, that explorer service manual has come in very handy!
  7. I don't think I've explained myself too well. The top part is going and a new garge going on top of the lower section. Got cha... Instead if knocking it down why not just make the entrance higher where it slopes down , get a bigger garage door and to tidy it up get the whole thing rendered. Certainly an option mate. I have considered in casing the whole thing in wood. Can't get a clear look if the structure sits ontop of the beams or not. Need to get the floor up.

  9. One thing I forgot to mention is the door is around five and a half foot in height. The Triumph just about goes under it. I'm 6'2ft and have walked into it more times than I can invent new swear words. The lower level is going to be tanked.
  10. In my continued battle to try and do up this old house, I'm now turning my attention to the garage (before I tackle the garden). But I can't decide what to do... So I thought I would ask the ladies and gents of the forum for ideas/inspiration. The garage was built in the 60's and is two storey. I'm only taking down the upper section leaving the breeze block lower section. I'm also taking out the wooden floor and cross beams as they show signs of slight rot. I would like a brick built garage but I'm not sure what the foundations are like. Also I think that would be the most expensive way to go. Any thoughts? Edit: I want to replace the top part of the garage with a new one. pic4 is of the inside of lower level.
  11. Lightroom is a great tool, if you ever need any help just shout. I would recommend paying the monthly Adobe subscription and getting to grips with photoshop too. I think it's £8 a month. I miss my old 5D. Great cameras everone of them. I only replaced with 1D bodies due to weather seal and faster AF.
  12. Is it a DS? I'm hopeless with Citroens, except the 2CV. The owners were having a midnight party on the beach, so I had to work quickly before they came back: I'm not sure how I'd have explained an Englishman lying under their car in the middle of the night with a flashgun! It's a 3-minute exposure taken on a 5D, and the colour was added with an ancient Miranda flashgun and some coloured filters that I got in 1986! I keep it in the botom of the camera bag for this sort of caper. I think the car is slightly underexposed, but it was pretty much a 'grab and go' situation. 5D mk1? It's a cracking shot if it hasn't been edited at all. Did you shoot RAW or jpeg? If it's a raw file you will be able to delve deeply into the shadows and bring them up without loosing to much IQ. Or get some layers going on in Photoshop. Using a curves adjustment layer you can make those star trails pop out. Then mask the rest of the image. Do the same with the car too.
  13. Constantly trying to work out what type of work to go into after giving up my very stressful photography business.
  14. Or is it a dogging disco?
  15. It's ok mate. It's a Citroën... They are meant to go there to die but normally just give up on roundabouts. Playing with LED or gels?
  16. Would love to come as I was gutted to miss the rally. I have a wedding to photograph in Knebworth on the Friday and travelling back north on the Saturday. Maybe do a detour? I'll have a bike laden with clothes and camera equipment though.
  17. All depends on the car. But I do love driving vans and 7.5t's.
  18. The J&S near me are a little too in your face and pushy. If you are ever up this way, I can recommend The Rocket Centre in Blackburn.

Cheers for that mate. Will look unto it when the wife goes away and I can get shinny new things delivered.

    Upgrading brakes

I would say they are a rubber hose but could be braided with a black plastic. Will look into it tomorrow.

Cheers Stu, and I've just been reading about upgrading the brake lines?

    Upgrading brakes

I've been a little disappointed with the performance of the brakes on ny 2014 triumph explorer. It's only now and again and after trying a few different bikes. Any advice on ways to upgrade the brakes? Are there aftermarket companies like you get for cars?
  23. Next time mate.
