Hi, how can they give you a firm quote without actually finding out what's wrong? Be very careful that could very easily escalate. I would ask them for a price to strip it and find the fault before you give approval for them to do a complete repair.
I'm assuming they're not going to bother with any of that and just chuck a new engine in.

I'm not too far away, in Manchester myself
. It's a good run up to that J&S for me, was there last weekend.
-
What lat was saying is, you need to do an additional theory test for your DAS that is different than the car test.
I see you're in northwich, there's a riding school at J&S there who will be able to do you dAS.
Edit: Sorry lat already addressed that

I have braces, they're alright and I stick a hoody/ jumper over the top of them if I'm going somewhere and don't want to look daft

Looks awesome mate!
Is this the one that gave you the idea?

They binned it not long after finishing it
in a pretty scary way!!

I've sacked that idea off this year, me and the old man will be going! I'll bring him next year.
-
The only solution is to do your DAS and get a bigger bike.
-
I can pop over and give you a hand if you want?

It's not futile when you're delivering potentially deadly advice, please bear in mind this forum is visited by people who have a wide range of experience - some with no experience of motorbikes at all. They might see what you put and ride around with a dodgy helmet.
-
Eh
, you're calling it a matter of opinion that a helmet can be used again if you stick some glue on the outside of a crack?
What about the bit inside that is NOT going to absorb that impact in the same way it did the first time?
-
If a helmet has had a big enough knock to cause a small crack then its screwed!
The integrity of the helmet is compromised
Please tell us how you have "tested" it then
He came off his ZX6R, trying to jump onto the gixxer, whilst both were doing 150 MPH on the M6. Missed the jump, bounced the helmet off the motorway but managed to jump back on the CBR.
-
If its a very expensive helmet and a small crack it can be repaired using a epoxy resin. It works just as well as if it were new, I have used it before on my graphic helmet and barely notice it was even there.
If you're going to continue to make sh*t up, please don't make up crap that puts people in danger. A helmet is designed to only take ONE whack, and that's the internals too which you can't patch up, not just the hard outer shell.
If you even touch your helmet with certain adhesives it can damage it beyond repair and make it totally unsafe for use.

I've seen that video it's quality
I might take the missus too, that way if he gets bored she can take him off for a little bit, we would only do the Monday if we went.

I think people ride/filter like that in London as it's the only way you'll get anywhere on time
-
That helps too, my problem was using it on the ally case
-
Exactly ^^^
My best tip is don't buy a torque wrench, and if you do - don't tell everyone the results when you've used it
-
Thinking of taking my lad to Oulton, anyone taken a 2-3 year old before? Is it ok for em, or am I best just going alone until he's a bit older?

Quick chain test - try pull the link off the back of the sprocket. If it comes off more than a couple of mm it's worn
. Glad you're sorted mate with the alignment mate, you'll be able to do the whole thing in 5 minutes in no time!
-
My chain also gets tighter when I take it off the centre stand and sit on it! So be wary of that
.
-
Don't worry mate! It's not easy when you're learning alongside others who've done it before. You'll smash it next time, you've got a head start because you know the controls and it won't take you long to feel at ease.
-
Many thanks Gary
I will give it a go tomorrow in daylight. I hope the fact that the two adjuster bolts are so different won't be a big problem
No unfortunately not rennie! I might have to wheel it down to the bike shop, luckily it's not too far away.
The different bolts don't matter mate, what's important is they're the same setting both sides on the markers, this gives you a pretty good chance of them being aligned. I usually measure from the lip adjuster to the end slot, if it's the same each side then I'm good to go.
Don't worry you're defo not out of your depth, I think you're just getting a bit flustered
have a go again in the morning with the help these gusy have given you and you'll find it a doddle. If you're really stuck a garage would probably align it pretty cheap for you, then it'll be easy to keep on top of.

sadly i think you're right - sony seem to be distancing themselves from it already. one other annoying thing about VR is the fact you're so sensorily deprived - so you can't actually have a conversation with you other half while playing. It's very cool - but ultimately very lonely.
The wide, massive, gaping hole in your otherwise perfect logic is the people who enjoy VR the most don't have partners. In fact, the majority of their human contact is with their parents when they enter their room to investigate that f**king awful smell.
b-b-but I was going to get one
I love that kind of stoof.

Dare I ask why you want hot gloves if you don't feel the cold?
Some reviews show people often encounter problems with them becoming faulty.

Precisely what I thought, Mileage has been done since April last year when the bike was bought brand new, although the bike is Chinese the chain is a Japanese RK chain £199.00 ( new ) as fitted to many Honda's, Suzuki's and Kawasaki's.
The chain has to have let water in or the links could not have seized, it probably happened on the Ride to The wall when it was in the rain all day long from 7:00AM to 10:00PM, it still of course should not let water in.
The cause could be poor chain assembly then! If they don't press the outer plates far enough down then as you know the seal will be broken, but it's still going to be difficult to get some oil back inside. It's not going to be a case of the life of the lubricant in the chain going off in less than 12 months, which I thought might have been a cause - if the chain had been on a long time.
I think I will have a go at claiming under warranty, claiming faulty manufacturing.
If you have a vernier, you can measure the gap on the inside of the seized plates and compare with the gap on a good link - if the bad link is bigger then it could well be the cause.

Fair enough, I was quoted around £150 labour and £300ish for the engine in mine when I broke things
so assumed it would have been similar.
