  1. I'll have a look in the scrap archive. Daft looking design, looks like an old Honda tappet cover.
  2. Surely your not tightening it so much that the handle bar is actually expanding ?
  3. Have a look to see if the throttle tube is extended beyond the handle bar . If it is you could see if you can move it inwards a bit by moving the whole assembly but if there is a locating peg and a little hole in the bars then this may not be possible. The alternative is to strip the whole thing and sand paper a little bit off the end of the throttle tube . Having said all that , have you tried just pushing the grip away from the bar end a bit ? Can we see some pics of this please in order to eliminate the guess work ? Another possibility might be to just move the bar end out a mm or so to stop it rubbing on the grip or the throttle tube .
  4. Mate, PM me with your postcode and I'd be happy to nip over from Coventry and help you sort this thing out on Saturday morning. Don't remove the exhaust just yet because you will need a new gasket.
  5. Oh that's a nice easy one . Put the bolt back in but only screw it in half way , then just give it a little tap with a hammer and the whole thing should come out .
  6. There seem to be two styles of upright Lexmoto engine but the oil filler caps are where you would expect them to be on most bikes I.e. Just above the clutch.
  7. make sure you know where the cat is and get one of those magnet thingys for when you drop the sump plug into hot oil . Have fun . Three pages and for me this was the most useful takeaway Quite impressive when you consider that the entire thread could have been answered with ... No.
  8. Hard work combined with elbow grease . ...That sounds great...Is there a quicker, easier way for the terminally lazy? Not really, the jointing surfaces have to be carefully stripped of gasket residue without any scratching so I use a wooden scraper and even finger nails . Some of the silver casings have been stripped of remaining paint using Nitromors and then hand polished using Toolstation fine contour sanding pads . Then they have been sprayed with hi temp aluminium paint before being cured in the oven . For everything else I recommend Toolstation Brake Cleaner ,only £2.50 a can so you can afford to spray it around like water AND hard work and elbow grease !
  9. I think Ginger Nuts improve if the lid is left off the biscuit tin for a day or two thus allowing them to become chewy . On the other hand , if you prefer a crisp biscuit then the addition of a few sugar cubes to the tin will absorb surplus moisture. That's what my grandma believed anyway.

  11. Sorry , what was tongue in cheek ? Basin under bike , undo plug , drain oil, hold bars and move the bike upright, Dain the last bit of oil , put the plug back in , get a measuring jug and pour in the correct amount of oil . Done . Do you need two stands to drain the oil ? No. It depends why the drain bolt is, on wether you need to even lift it upright. Mines in the corner of the case on the side where you'd drain it, so on the side stand the drain bolt is the lowest point . Happy days !

  13. To do an oil change on a 125 ?
  14. You can easily manage without.
  15. You are re checking it AFTER tightening the axle nut I presume . The pinching together of the swing arm is often enough to move the wheel back a fraction and this will tighten the chain further.
  16. Not the answer you are looking for but I would highly recommend this excellent series of videos. Don't be put off by the title , each video explains things in such a way that it doesn't really matter what bike it is . Matt the producer is a natural teacher , he's also funny and swears a lot . He also makes more general videos under the title of The Workshop. Check out a few of them and let us know what you think .
  17. Could come in useful when I come to do my engine swap ! How is it spelt ? All I can find are mobile service platforms .
  18. Maybe its a talisman to guard against being nicked for no L plates .
  19. I didn't like the fact that I was required to download it . Really? I saw the pic straight away on my phone. That doesn’t sound good! Did you or have you ran a scan on the file? EDIT: I’ve now just noticed the little download icon in the top right of the image boarder. This seem really dodgy. Especially as it’s the OP’s one and only post. I would be doing a full system scan if you’ve downloaded the image. I’ll report this to admin so they can look into it. I didn't download it , something about this is suspicious. Why on earth didn't the OP show more of the bike if indeed this even is a bike ? Surely the name is displayed on the tank . Let's not waste anymore time on this nonsense.

  21. A paddock stand is a great idea but the original question was about whether one was needed to perform an oil change. On a small , lightweight bike such as this , you can easily change the oil without one .
  22. Spend your money on oil .
  23. I would MASSIVELY overfill the oil if i did it on the side stand Not if you used a measuring jug .
  24. You don't need a stand to drain the oil , start with the bike on the side stand then just hold the bike upright for a minute to get the last bit out . Don't forget to move the container though. To fill it just buy a measuring jug and simply pour the correct amount back in . Simple. Top Tips , spread out lots of news paper, do not do the job in a strong wind ( oil is lighter than water and blows around ) make sure you know where the cat is and get one of those magnet thingys for when you drop the sump plug into hot oil . Have fun .
