  1. I know, sorry about that! I remember just after last crimbo the garage near to me here in Brighton was displaying easter eggs halfway through January... Anyhow. Suggest the piss-up be in Chichester. Easy to get home for us all on the train for those who like a drink....
  2. Hooray!!!!!!!!! I go and watch Liverpool away quite a lot so will be at the game, I think on Feb 7th. (actually one of my favourite away games, atmosphere is excellent there. Noise from the word go right until the end of the game.) Should meet up for a pint afterwards.
  3. The route to the Ace is quite boring to be honest. Here it is but we would be doing it the other way. ROUTE From Ace, west along A406 North Circular Road to Hanger Lane, then A40 west to M25, south bound to M23, to Brighton and A23 to seafront road Madeira Drive As you can see it would be up the M23 to the M25 then around the busiest part of there, the A40 then A406. Nightmare stuff!!!!! I would be up for it though if enough want to go. 'Wow' sums things up quite well saying about riding and meeting up for something to eat and drink. If anyone wants to go for a blast afterwards then that would be no problem. The new riders among us would benefit from something like that too. The chalet 'Wow' mentions sounds good for a meeting place too. Also we could consider meeting up at Portsdown Hill overlooking Portsmouth. The view from there is just great and the famous mega burger are something to behold! Anyway. This is a starting point as I say and hopefully we can get people out riding and meeting up which is the aim of this thread. As for actually riding out I tend to ride nice and easy as Ducati's are pretty expensive to repaint if I bin it! I could actually put the pillion seat back on the back of the bike for Harry if he wanted to come along too but I have not had anyone on the back yet so that would be interesting! So, how about some dates for the first meet. I suggest somewhere easy first like Bury Hill. Anyone like to throw a date or two in?
  4. Didn't know anyone before hand either except from posts made in here. To be honest, I have literally met hundreds of people from my own forum from all over the world and I have to say you lot who I met the other day were among the friendliest and nicest people I have met over the years. Not saying the guys from my forum weren't, most of them are great too but some are a little bit odd!! It's always weird meeting people you know online for the first time!! We should sort out a christmas bash somewhere.....
  5. I will possibly go up to the ACE on the Sunday to greet you all in. I am booked to work that day but can go not available. I went N/A for the Sunday just gone for the ride out to Brighton from PP and they couldn't cover my job so I had to go in and do it. Fingers crossed it won't happen again this time around as I would love to meet up with you lot from up north.
  6. Hi all. The meeting and ride down to Brighton last Sunday was excellent and it has been mentioned by almost everyone that we should do something like that again. So, use this thread for ideas of dates and places to meet/go. I suggest meeting up at Bury Hill cafe then going for a ride somewhere from there. Bury Hill caff is located just north of Arundel. Quite handy and central for nearly everyone, not far for those from Portsmouth and ideal for the people in mid-Sussex and over my way in Brighton. There are loads of excellent biking roads around to go and one or two people mentioned some good routes within easy reach of the place. So, how about a date or two and we can see who can make it and decide where to go afterwards on the day between us. Another suggestion is to meet up at Pease Pottage again and go somewhere from there. Another is to meet up and go to Box Hill to Rykers cafe. Anyhow, these are just my suggestions, anyone else agree/disagree or have any ideas just post here and see what everyone thinks. There are enough of us down here to make it a regular thing if people want to do that kind of thing. Let us know what you think..... (The roundabout in the centre of the map is where the cafe is) http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=arundel&ie=UTF8&ll=50.887225,-0.571976&spn=0.064867,0.181618&z=13
  7. Who is the bird on the right with the long hair......
  8. Nice little report. Cheers for sharing.
  9. Managed to get them by sticking the memory card in my laptop.... Who is who? (I am the fat bloke in the middle with the mirror shades....) http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e200/pprune/Ace2.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e200/pprune/Ace1.jpg Can anyone do a namecheck from left-to-right thing?
  10. Cant upload the pictures from phone. Poxy N95 Will try later when I get up. Tired Paul....
  11. Just got back from a good little day out there. Rode up to PP around 1030ish. On the way out of Brighton I noticed Harry on opposite side of road at some lights nodding away. He looked good on his 'ped surrounded by hundreds of hairy-arsed bikers on Harlys! Cracking weather today as well all day was sunny. On the ride up even though it was early there were hundreds making their way down into Brighton, it was very busy coming down. I got there and met up with everybody else. Hat's off to Jin who made it all the way over from NW London as a I know she was a bit apprehensive about riding all that way. Also noticed a Ducati like mine but it was black, watched that park up and lo and behold, the guy was meeting someone with us so it was good to meet you mate, got your email so will sort out a ride sometime. Headed back down to Brighton and picked someone up on the way down, sorry, would love to have got your name but I didn't ask! Anyhow, she had a beautiful Triumph but it was playing up a bit, hope it gets sorted soon. If you live near where we picked you up then maybe a few of us could get together for a ride one day. Into Brighton now and there were bikes everywhere. Surrounded completely by bikes, hundreds of them but it was quite slow getting in the last mile or so and my bike was showing a temp reading of 142!! I noticed some light smoke coming from underneath somewhere as it was so hot. Eventually pulled up and after several phone calls met up with the rest. Missed meeting you WOW, I did call but no joy. Two 'unnamed' blokes unashamedly latched on to two of the Bennetts pit girls who were walking around, I won't name and shame but Jin and I were having a good little giigle watching you guys!! (and there are photos too!) Left some of the others who were riding up to Bury Hill on the way home, wish I could have made it with you guys but I have to go to bed in a second as I am working tonight. Great meeting you all today. I thought the meeting at PP was good, loads of bikes (obviously) and a great atmosphere, same in Brighton, riding down that last bit along Maderia Drive was a good buzz too. Anyhow, waffling on here so thaks for meeting up today, loved it, those closer should meet up somewhere like Bury Hill now and again but that is for another thread. Will post the 'Team Photo' in the morning as I am off to bed now. Hope you all get back home safe. Paul.
  12. I know I do but you will get all kinds of loonies calling your 24hrs a day..... Got a bit of a tip-off last night from someone in the know. There have been extra police drafted in from other forces in unmarked cars and bikes and all leave has been cancelled for the day. Last year there were quite a few nutters who got caught at ridiculous speeds and plod this year are clamping down. There will be plenty on the A23. Watch out on corners where you can only see so far around the corner as they often hide away and when you do spot them it is often too late....
  13. Jin, take your mobile number off here. Not very wise/safe at all. Shame not one of your mates could ride along with you on the A-roads. I would suggest just going to the ace in the morning, there will be plenty of riders who might take you on the back.
  14. Been busy working lates hence the late reply. Nick, I am about to PM you now with my number. I will PM others too and it is in the contacts section. 1pm outside the Concorde sounds ok, should be there in time for that. I will be leaving Brighton around 1030 for the ride up to PP then we can maybe look at leaving there at around 1130 or something like that. Don't forget to make sure you are legal as plod will be around annoying random people so just in case....... Also and it might seem I am 'teaching granny to suck eggs' here, check your oil, tyre pressure water etc and fill up before you leave! It would be 'orrible to break down on the way down there. Those at PP just look for my Ducati. In the unlikely event of there being another one there at the same time, mine has a personal reg plate to suit the bike, you will know what I mean as soon as you see it!! SM79, I would go for a ride in the morning (sat) with you but there is a big match on at 1245 and I have to be home to watch that. I am also working tomorrow afternoon at 1649 so can't go for a quick spin in the afternoon either. On Sunday I am meant to be working nights and have gone 'Not Available' but they are having difficulty covering my job so I may have to leave a little earlier to go and have a sleep. If I get my job covered then who would be up for a ride over to Bury Hill later on in the afternoon for a drink or something? (Bury Hill is over near Arundel and is a cracking ride over there)
  15. If I remember correctly, I think they want you to 'donate' a fiver to park on the drive or something like that so worth taking a handful of cash to throw in the bucket. A feller or two stands there at the entrance with a bucket for donations so chuck in a few quid if you can.
  16. Where? If you mean Brighton then you get directed straight to the sea front and straight to a parking spot on Maderia Drive. It's pretty straightforward really. I am not into the idea of leaving my bike around the outskirts as there are plenty of bike thieves operating when this ride is on. Also bear in mind there will be plenty of Police around keeping an eye on the riders so make sure you are fully legal before you go as quite a few riders will be getting pulled...
  17. It is a good meeting place. Last time up there with the lads from work we looked where the bad weather was and went the other direction away from it! You can see all over the place from up there. Regarding the barrier there is a little road right next to it called Hilltop. There is another entrance to the place from that road too.
  18. CF, I will be at the Hilltop Cafe at the top of Dyke Rd at 1030 if you want to swing by on the way. (I take it you will be going along the A27 then up the A23?) http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr=portsmouth&daddr=B2147+to:B2146+to:B2141+to:A286%2FNew+Rd+to:midhurst+to:A272+to:51.075704,-0.343666+to:pease+pottage&hl=en&geocode=%3BFY5XCAMdNGvy_w%3BFQqeCQMdan_y_w%3BFVdeCAMdrOjz_w%3BFRbsCQMdxJz0_w%3B%3BFRAVCgMdUMn6_w%3B%3B&mra=dpe&mrcr=5&mrsp=7&sz=12&via=4,7&sll=51.05456,-0.324783&sspn=0.151927,0.366669&ie=UTF8&ll=50.857706,-0.173807&spn=0.008114,0.030856&z=16
  19. Harry Two Posts!!!!!!!!!!! (happened in the other thread too)
  20. Bit difficult at the moment H. Those of us meeting up at PP should be looking at leaving there at around 1130. Now due to the volume of traffic on the way (thousands of bikes) the ride itself may take longer than usual. We could say meet up at 1230. Normally should be plenty of time but as I say, time goes out the window when a few thousand bikes hit town. Best just wait until we get there. I will ring you and see where you are when we get parked up. If you want to arrange something with the others who are not going to PP then that would be good. You lot could meet up first then we can come and find you.
  21. Hi all. Just returned from a quick ride and noticed I have contamination on my rear tyre. I know what it is. It is Chain Lube and some of it is on the sidewall of the tyre and a tiny bit is on the main bit of the tyre on the edge. I want to remove it obviously but don't want to do the tyre in so what would be the best way of removing it? I am thinking warm soapy water but not 100% sure hence the ask.
  22. Well, I am out. Days off that week are Wed/Thurs. Working earlies Fri/Sat. Rostered Sunday then Mon - Thursday earlies. :(
  23. Directions are in an earlier post guys. Would be good to see you.
  24. Good choice, that is the one I have. The only issue I had with mine is when it is windy the wind will blow under the cover and it sometimes moves the cover a bit. What i mean by this is the front of the cover will move say, half way up the front wheel so what I have done is simply put the elasticated bit between the front tyre and the kerb that the tyre is leaning against and that holds it now. Just had some heavy rain showers here the last couple of days and when I took the cover off between showers today it was bone dry. (The inside of the cover which is soft) is dry too.
