  1. It's not solvent based. Though it is designed to be permanent to the point that trying to remove the stickers once they're fitted will damage the helmets finish. I was in the south of France twice last year and was keeping count of how many bikers I saw wearing stickers. Zero. Despite our staying at a rather busy bikers campsite... Mainly Dutch, but they didn't give two hoots about the sticker law. Nor apparently do the Gendarmerie. I might think twice if I were visiting Paris... Or another major city and likely to be riding after dark when not having them will be very obvious.
  2. Basic rule of thumb is avoid anything with a solvent based adhesive... Easy to tell as it will have a very strong smell. To be honest I doubt very much if this sort of adhesive is used as it's really quite nasty and there are all sorts of regulations about its use these days. The fear over stickers on helmets goes right back to the 70s when polycarbonate helmets were first introduced and solvent based adhesives were very common and unregulated... A lot has changed since then following the glue sniffing epidemic in the 1980s. As well as the recognition that some people are highly sensitive to these products and should avoid all contact.
  3. example price from demon tweaks MICHELIN ROAD 5 120/70 ZR17 (58W) & 180/55 ZR17 (73W) MOTORCYCLE TYRES £255.98 Was £372.12 Save £116.14 (31%)
  4. 4 tyres.. 4 tyre killing punctures in under 2 years? what the hell gives with the roads around you? or do you spend too much time in the gutter or on the traffic light road crest where crap tends to accumulate? I have never.. not once in more than 35 years riding had a puncture that meant the tyre was only fit for the bin. never..

My suggestion would be to use the ferry as much as possible... perhaps aim for Bergen. so.. first stop would be Hirtshals in DK. and the ferry from there to Bergen. That should knock off a significant 'dog leg' and put you where the old ferry from newcastle (back in the day) would have put you. Google says its about 720 miles from Zebrugge to Hirtshals. a quick look at the Fjord line ferry page gives a start price of €87 euros for the travel part.. 2 adults and motorcyle to Bergen.. add on the cost of a berth or Seats (but you need to log in to go that far) so that would be my strategy... thats assuming I was heading to the far north and wanted to stay over on the Atlantic side of Norway and miss out on the less interesting 'flat parts' of Southern Sweden etc.. maybe return that way.. or maybe not. something like this for the first leg: https://goo.gl/maps/JBJ39Rhjeot or.. have a look at this: http://www.eurobiketrans.co.uk/norwegian-motorcycle-transport/

  9. Hounded? Bullied? Mocked? Mockery for someone who is a regular Expert Witness... Is probably intolerable. And, maybe he just doesn't need the stress. when any input becomes futile.. The answer? walk away.
  10. How would it be if the government spent as much time and money working out how to remove bad riders and drivers from the roads. start with the (as of 01/06/2017) 10,116 motorists with 12 or more points who have not lost their licences. like the woman in Oxon with 51 points. or the man in Basildon with 42 points.... and so on. Apparently these people have excuses and reasons for why they can get away with this. really.
  11. I dont live in Northants.
  12. fixed that for you. BMW boxer engines dont jump to the side because the movement of the pistons is symmetrical and so in balance one with the other. The pistons of a Guzzi are not... so the one piston is in a different position within the cylinder to the other.. and this causes the sideways jump. which is especially noticeable at startup.. and to a lesser extent at tickover. you can see what I mean by looking at schematic engine animated gifs. I think Moto Guzzis are smashing bikes... but very different to Boxer twins. Goat, If you ever go to the Italian Dolomites on one... park it next to a Ducati and watch as the Ducati is totally ignored by the locals. (especially if its a Panigale for some reason)
  13. I've owned a lot of fuel injected bikes and not one of them had a reserve tap. They all had a warning light. Running out of fuel is usually due to one of three things. You ignored the light. Or... The bulb has blown and so doesn't come on. Or... The sensor in the tank is faulty.
  14. If you experience any unexplained joint or muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness while taking statins, you should call your doctor immediately.
  15. a blast from the past.
  16. Petiole.
  17. I think they do.. certainly Bonio has coped with his for several years.. but. people have always wanted more.... sometimes a LOT more. why have 2 lights... when you can have 6.
  18. 2 radiators.. one on each side. since 2012. seen here.. though covered with protective grilles. it only took 90 years to go WC. no rush....
  19. you cant overload a GS in the traditional sense.... if that were to happen the ZFE will just switch off the (accessory/auxiliary) circuit thats problematic.
  20. its only a problem if its going to rub... one against the other. so... do they rub when you turn the bars?
  21. It is definitely a german plate.. bike was registered at Bitburg. Rhineland-Palatinate.
  22. Aldi usually has bike gear at the end of March... So a bit of a wait. They follow up with a sale in August. Lidl do a similar promotion at about the same time, near the start of spring.
