  1. Hi @gymwitch, Had a large Breakfast this morning, then been working on a Fuel tank and Carbs for a CBR400RR NC29!!!, I did the carbs weeks ago, without seeing the bike, said to owner is the tank clean!! YES was the answer!! Well a non running CBR turned up on the doorstep 3 days ago, tank is full of rust, but I used the White Vinegar he supplied, 20 litres, and it works a treat. Finished it this afternoon, now running well. Keep meaning to ask how's the 23 going?? And congrats on the pair of new bike's. If you are still stuck on NC23 in a couple of weeks, we are going past to Scotland. If you what a second opinion.
  2. Quick blast while the sun was out and 2 tag's. Rose & Portcullis Inn Morrisons petrol station. And had to stop and take photo of mileage . Been a long time coming!!! Due to Covid!!
  3. Couple of tags today. Asda filling station. Harvest filling station.
  4. Hi, Yes use non-hardening, years ago red was non hardening, and green was permanent!! And the only way to get green undone was Heat!!!!
  5. Hi @fastbob, Remember the old Piper Systems, the one for the Yamaha XJ550 you had two problems 1 filter couldn't be removed, 2 don't try riding over speed bumps!!!!! Ground out totally!! And also some early Vance & Hines systems, when you had the large filter under engine, as on Kawasaki Z1100R, like this one. 4 into 2 went either side, 4 into 1 went across filter housing!!
  6. The Barge Inn. National Trust - Mottisfont House.
  7. Quick blast into Wiltshire! Five Bells pub. Pheasant pub. Woodman pub. Sainsbury's filling station.
  8. Short blast out, and 4 tags. Seven Stars pub. Duke of Wellington pub. Halfway Inn pub. Esso garage.
  9. Hi @Hoggs, Halfway House pub, would you be flexible and allow Halfway Inn?????.
  10. Tell me about it!!!! In Dorset, Until today it was a joke 3 times I've been followed, last time police car did a U turn when I was coming out of petrol station 200yds from my house!! So I lead him around the back streets of Parkstone! He pissed off after 2 miles of 20mph roads and speed bumps! But today did 127 miles and no police!!! Fingers crossed hoping to get out tomorrow.
  11. And a few more! Unicorn Pub. Spread Eagle pub. Phoenix pub. BP garage.
  12. First run out this year! Texaco garage. Mapperton house and gardens. The Bird in hand pub. Shell garage.
  13. Hi, just start it up and leave it ticking over, until oil is hot then keep pulling the clutch in and out, or even better cable tie clutch lever in when warming engine up. It will soon free off and start working, If I'm not using my CBR400 for a couple weeks I cable tie clutch lever in, to stop clutch sticking. Been a common problem with jap clutches for years, Think there was a guy on here with a bandit the other week, he just warmed it up and clutch freed off. Yamaha are worse Dt175mx every morning!!!
  14. Hi @James in Brum, I've used Ariete fork seals, I recommend them to anyone changing there seals, and have used them on customers bikes for as long as I can remember! check but I think for the ZZR600 they are ARI 047. One of my VFR800 I changed at 21000miles, at 103000miles started using as a Trackday bike, has now got 105000miles, with still the same seals!!! if you can, crack the top nut on forks before taken them out of bike, then after you have them out, undo the damper bolt in bottom of leg, before undoing top nut fully. Just helps you a bit trying to undo damper rods. and when you strip forks make sure you clean stanchion properly, no rust pits on legs, which will cut new seals, and see if you can pick up a cheap Fork Seal driver, makes life a lot easier.
  15. Haha, no he wasn't, just got rid of a crankshaft, for a R1 otherwise would have sent you some pic's. Anyway if you had lost a chunk like that off the crank, think you would have noticed a wee vibration by now.
  16. Hi, As @fastbob said, what damage!!! That's just how they are made, you'll find a lot of rough castings inside engines, so no broken off bits there.
  17. And yes Gaskets sit outside Head!! And it was 5 years since I put these pipes on, oops, how time flies!!! So you could get someone to weld up the flanges, might be cheaper than new exhaust. and order new genuine Gaskets from Kawasaki, might be cheaper in long run.
  18. Hi @James in Brum, as @fastbobsaid gaskets look wrong, Cradley Kawasaki are one of the best to get, also as Bob said it looks like it my be a common problem with breaking, here's a picture of my mate's, and the flanges have been welded.
  19. Don't think bent exhaust would snap flanges, have just message my mate in Wales, to see if he can send me photos of his downpipes where they fit the head! Fitted a hawk system to his ZZR400, couple years ago, but I'm sure that the Gaskets fitted inside head, can't remember them like yours, think the flanges pull up close to head! You did get Gaskets from Main Kawasaki dealer or from eBay? Maybe they were wrong Gaskets!! if from eBay.
  20. Haha, don't retire Rennie, you'll get bloody bored!! Can't remember last time I took the Bike out!!! Missus says I need a job so I've got a excuse to get out on the bike!! How much longer.
