  1. No on sooooo many levels
  2. You can buy gas much easier now Google hobby weld, big bottles no rental.
  3. Ohh if my share of wife's car counts 6 I keep trying to ralk her into ev but she's not having it yet
  4. I like all my wheels though
  5. 5 cars 1van 1bike no buses.
  6. Just miffed cause no bus option was available
  7. Possible fault in manufacturing of bearing, most likely seal failure and crap getting in, is it taper bearing or parallel, is it an excentric rear hub
  8. What would be the point of that, I'm not a train driver nor do I have any wish to be one, I also don't fancy being a nurse who are more under paid and under valued. I'm not keen on being a bus driver either
  9. Ohh only best part of 60k plus final salary pension and other perks.
  10. Driving fault recorded 1a Eyesight: Unable to read a number plate at 67 feet or 20.5 metres (or if new style number plate 66 feet or 20 metres) which is about five car lengths. This is a serious fault resulting in the termination of the test.
  11. It is, but,no how matter how much you bemoan that point to us we are not the test center, they have a complaints procedure or as I've said just talk to someone there.
  12. Morning, contrary to drought gloom it's chucking it down here
  13. When I burst my ear drum and it bled they just said clean it up don't poke anything down it and it will fix itself adios. Thing is now when I get a head cold that same ear very often becomes infected and sore, something it never did before, that was prob best part 25yrs ago, just thought I chear you up
  14. Should be fairly straightforward to test your daughters sight at 25m before
  15. I admire your photographic investigation, have you brought this up with them?
  16. No idea but I would prefer to see a proper measured distance than Google earth, I'm still good for a number plate at 25m It's never going to be a dead on measurement but 5m would seem a bit excessive if correct
  17. Pretty much the experience the wife has had with them. @KiwiBobthe reason they gave or a rep gave on radio was there was such a high call to strike they can ask what they want, but they won't say what they want as that's not how you negotiate
  18. You mean all other mods are pointless as they won't pay out
  19. Turning it into a political issue doesn't solve or answer any of the questions of the strike or the unwillingness of the union to put it to to the members Not sure why you get the idea I'm a tory loving brexit supporter from. I grew up in abject poverty from a mining family in a Labour run slum I should be red through and through but I'm pretty sure I'm not. Just heard on radio that the first big German city has started rationing gas. Riots, they may be along in Jan when they reckon fuel bills could reach £500 a month.
  20. There in lies the problem its the same with the union demands, its as much political, something stammer doesn't want to be associated with or he wouldn't have sacked his shadow minister for holding an un authorised media interview.
  21. Welcome
  22. Yup but its not run as civil service, which minister is in charge of it? It's listed as Non-departmental public body (incorporated as a private company limited by guarantee without share capital) Here's the list of directors https://www.networkrail.co.uk/who-we-are/how-we-work/our-leadership/our-board/
  23. The gov shouldn't be involved, it's a free standing company not the civil service, they may have a pre tax profit of over a billion but that pales in comparison to the billions given in subsidies. I'm sure everyone would vote to give all under gov employment directly or in directly a 10% rise but I'm damned sure no one would want the increased taxes to cover it. I have no issue with them voting on strike, its the union trying to draw the gov into it and not even putting what's been offered to the members that I think smells of militancy. The rail network cant support what is going to be the new norm.
  24. Happy birthday, Hope your having a good hol
