  1. It should do but charging up and down mountains in a car a few years ago wasn't fun, I'd go dizzy at the top and feel terrible. I had to leave my mate on his own to complete the rest of the tour and get the train back. The face on the lady in the ticket office in a random station in the south of france when I said un à Londres s'il vous plaît was a picture. 12 hours later I walked through my front door though, the trains in France are incredible. Oddly I was completely fine going over the pyranees but I don't want to risk it on the bike.
  2. Sadly I get altitude sickness and can’t handle it. See you in 2023!
  3. Glad everyone is ok but I'm not suprised there are issues. fingers crossed they can get everything sorted without too much drama.
  4. @Gerontious any news on if the hotel is affected by the floods?
  5. I've had the original one since 2018, I had one demonstrated on my at motorcycle live and I was impressed. It's like wearing a seatbelt in the car it just becomes routine to connect and disconnect.
  6. Sadly I think you are right. Also going to a country is one thing but things can change whilst we are away and all of a sudden it's on the amber list and we've got to quaranteen on the way back. I've got another week planned in the uk the week after we get back with family so I can't risk that.
  7. If you’re capable of being sensible and not trying to go as fast as possible I’d say go straight for das.
  8. I have been given a voucher to use as I couldn’t push my booking back any further. It’s to the value of my booking last year and I have 12 months to use it.
  9. You say that like its a bad thing
  10. There is a lot of disscussion about the NC500 but I might be tempted to avoid that if we're all confined to this island and do it when people are heading abroad. Love a bit of rainy wales, I may even go this weekend if I can.
  11. I have just had a credit for last years tunnel crossing, I'd been pushing it back ever since august and got to the limit of how far it could be pushed. I've still not booked this years crossing but will a couple of weeks before hand if we know we are going. If we don't go abroad this year I'm still having the week off and if the weather is with me I'll go to scotland.
  12. Still on the continent or are you thinking wales/Scotland?
  13. Get as much education as you can via enhanced/bike safe/IAM/ROSPA/biker down.
  14. I've been offered test drives of cars recently so I should imagine bikes would be no problem.
  15. I'm sure we'll both make one of these trips at the same time one day. Looking after yourself is always the prioroty
  16. My camping gear will be in regular use in the uk so I’m more then happy to use it on the continent. I’ve had my first dose of the oaz vaccine already and my second is in mid June so I’ll have as much protection as I can by September. I’m restricted with work that if I need to be quarantined either in a hotel or even at home then it’s a no go for me. If that’s the case I’ll do a week trip on the bike in the uk.
  17. Could have hit a spot of oil causing the back to slip slightly
  18. I’ve corrected the typo
  19. There’s no particularly great roads near the factory but if you have any technical issues with your bike and you need a hand I live very close.
  20. I've requested the time off work. I can't wait to be heading to the tunnel.
  21. A proper tool cabinet like this is a worthy investment. Be prepared to completely forget what tools are in which drawers though and have to open at least 3 before finding the one you want.
  22. Was it these? https://youtu.be/4RMgLleH-PY
  23. I haven't booked anything but I still have my eurotunnel crossings from last year that I've pushed back once already and I'm hoping to be able to push back again. After 2 years of booking rooms at the travel lodge and not being able to turn up for either I'm tempted to hold off until I know its absolutely on!
  24. I would be taking it to an independant
  25. Is that the 1050 or the new one?
