  1. Every 5 years! Does your job demand this? Or are you just doing this as refreshers? It's part of my job I hate having to do it but along with the practical refresher it does keep your standards up and is a good thing. I just dread doing it every time
  2. These things are sent to test us. I have to do a roadcraft and highway code theory test every 5 years the pass rate keeps rising and it's not easy. Like you say sounds like bad luck. Keep with it and be positive!
  3. Mt are a budget brand that seem to get v good safety ratings I'm sure they have a flip front version. The caberg Duke is a great value lid
  4. Yes comfort is key. Doesnt matter how safe it is if it doesn't fit ur head well it's safety is compromised. I did check out the sharp rating of mine when I bought it using the sharp website. I have a hjc is max2 flipfront I believe they test the latch lock success rate on it. I think there are very few which are intended for use with the flip up on the move. I think schuberth are
  5. Thanks for advice. Thnk I just need to take my time. As someone said earlier, just get my test done and then really start research. Just so I can start somewhat of a search now, any suggestions on alternatives to the MT09. If I were to put together some sort of list now, it would be: MT09 MT07 Z900 I want a naked bike but any suggestions would be great. I do like Yamaha, BMW, Kawasaki, KTM, Honda. But open to other brands. Thanks I think it's a case of going out and testing a load. I tried the vstrom 1000 and BMW f800gt and I have to say neither of those did it for me. The BMW felt too sporty for me but great engine and the belt drive worked really well. The vstrom really felt its age and my wife really didn't like the pillion comfort. I tried shortlisting a few and looking at the mcn owner reviews then went for a blast on them
  6. Good luck with your sale, I had a naked version back in 2002 as a bit of a winter hack . It was a great bike I wish I had hung into it now I only paid 500 quid for it. Yours looks in great condition. If only I could afford a 2nd bike!

  8. For what it's worth I bought my Tracer 900gt in July. I test rode all the new bikes I thought I would like that were in my price bracket. My wife and I both loved the Tracer. It was well speced up for the price. I looked at the demo bike they had but the finance interest was higher 6.9% wheras the new was 2.9%. I went to numerous dealers and all said they couldn't budge on the price but one offered me 200 quid extra for my trade in a big discount on a top box and it's rack. The finance deal ended that week and Yamaha were not telling the dealers what the new deal was (all the other yam dealer said the same) As this one seemed good and in my price range I went for it and was glad I did so as the interest deal did go up. I think there are a few important things to think about when taking the plunge on a new bike. Can I afford it? Can I afford it if I have a change in circumstances? Is this deal right for me?. I put down a bigger deposit and the balloon payment is 3k at the end. I intend to keep my Tracer at the end of it and I have worked out over the 3 years that I need to save up that 3k so I'm being disciplined and making sure I save away 85 quid a month just for this. It's crap but sometimes you just need to hold fire until you are in the right financial position I had to wait nearly 3 years. Don't be sucked in there will always be the right deal out there but get yourself prepared for it No deal is a good deal if you can't afford it at that time.
  9. This looks like a good safe bet for a 2nd bike https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163901644838
  10. I think they are great bikes amazing engine. Any decent rides planned yet?
  11. All I know is that plugging has a different meaning in prisons and airports
  12. There was a recovery truck on site loading two bikes on while supervised by the police, got the impression they were being impounded. Most likely the place even has signs saying don't be a dick lol. I know at one point they employed security to stop any issues. I've not been for a few months but was all quite civilised some great bikes and cars
  13. It's a great place I've taken my bike there and my brother usually takes his Morgan 3 wheeler. Anything goes there. I believe the owners welcome the police there as there have been quite a few idiots there who spoil things. As its open all day and until late I think the locals get a bit hacked off. Good food is served and not too far from Stratford upon Avon some lovely roads to ride on.
  14. Wagon wheels, the packaging days chocolate flavoured coating, its not even chocolate anymore. I blame brexit and climate change!
  15. New flux capacitor?
  16. Mine will arrive today via amazon. As per others the money landed in my PayPal etc. I'll be posting on here and on amazon after I've tried it for a week or so.!
  17. It was half funny the 1st time posted . .. I'll post it a again see if its only 1/3 as funny Purely for research purposes lol. Yawn!

Husband: Changes a couple times a year. Maybe dark brown now. I can’t remember. Sergeant: What was she wearing? Husband: Could have been pants, or maybe a skirt or shorts. I don't know exactly. Sergeant: What kind of car did she go in? Husband: She actually went on my dirt bike... Sergeant: What kind of bike was it? 19. I hope u enjoy ur new steed. I think the rebel is a great bike with a trusted engine.
  20. Yes it is tiring but we'll worth it. Car driving is a lot more sedate. Ur arms legs torso and head are all doing stuff when u are riding and you do feel it
  21. I bought the same model over the winter it's great for the money. I rarely use it in the summer but its great for the winter if ur rolling the bike back into the garage straight after.
  22. Great bike. Some lovely sports tourers out there I'm a convert now I have my tracer 900gt. Hope you have some trips planned
  23. Ditto Stourbridge is about a 20 to 30 min train journey ur more than welcome to park at mine
  24. James There is an ncp at grand Central. I have to be honest working in Birmingham and living nearby thete is not a great deal of great parking for motorcycles in the city centre. When I worked in the city I had secure parking at work. The best in the city for secure parking is B4 parking in weaman Street but it'd a 10 minute walk from New Street. If you were out of city my side you could have gladly used my garage!
  25. You have to take your hat off to those guys it's a unique sport. I have somewhere a Bruce Penhall autograph. As a kid I used to watch him in 'chips' great show. Then the poor guy came over to the UK and was racing speedway on darkest deepest Dudley what a stark contrast to LA. What we will all do for our passions eh! These guys don't make stacks of cash compared to many sports. As many of you have said a lot of the teams and tracks have now fell by the wayside it's a real shame.
