  1. Always great pizza in Croatia and the local peka lamb, pork and chicken stew is amazing. Hope ur enjoying the trip it's a country I love!
  2. I have a chargeable tyre pump similar to the one in the picture. Easy to use and fits nicely in my panniers if I'm going away use it on the car and caravan too. Personally I like to check mine every week it's good to give the tyres a good inspection in any case. Too much tech on my bike as it is, anymore would just blow my small brain

    Hello

How are you finding the mutt, seems a nice easy bike to maintain and better quality bits than ur average Chinese bike. I do t live too far from mutt hq and I've been in there for a coffee they make some great one off specials
  4. I did use iridium on my Himalayan when I had that. Made a difference in the throttle response on the single cylinder Himalayan and reduce warm up times somewhat and provided slightly better mpgs. Didn't make an issues for me pricewise as I only needed one. I'm guessing it wouldn't make much difference on my tracer .
  5. Bloody work for me 3am and just finished. On the positive side I kegged some homebrew Welsh red ale, and started some cider something to look forward to in a month's time when it's ready to enjoy
  6. Who said motorcycles were simple but I guess it part of the charm tinkering and nothing is perfect keeps me out of my wife's way frequently
  7. Looks good and I think phone mountings are an individual choice. One isn't always good for all. I've struggled to find the right mount for my tracer and as if by magic some gut has made his own so I thought I would give it a try here's the link Look at this on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202994751133
  8. Saw this article the other day these look a good option. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.motorcyclenews.com/amp/news/2020/may/litelok-moto-108-lightweight-motorcycle-security/
  9. Neil good luck with your hunt. I have a 2019 900gt might be worth looking at a used for as it has the heated grips, centre stand, panniers and the fully adjustable front and rear suspension well worth the little bit extra. I'm pleased with mine used it all year round only grumble was the standard Dunlop d222 tyres which I will be replacing in the summer.

    Jobs!

I'm in the police many ex military join but going from one service to another may not be your thing. Me personally jobs like that can only be done for so long before they take their toll. I know many ex police and military do part time security work which pays exceptionally well. OCS docs lot of work locally where I am including Birmingham airport and many in your background quite easily get management positions very quickly on a part time basis. Could be worth your time doing Sia you don't have to just to pub door work. My old friend does a lot of driving work and security management. Pharmacies also like ex forces for part time meds deliveries if DBS checked and pay good money. It's good you have a growing business and sounds like you will just need something as a bit of top up
  11. Well said Bob. For what it's worth I prefer a bit of solitary riding in any case. I deal with the worst in society on a daily basis I much prefer the company of my crusty old dog, cat and chinchilla over most people. It's the few think opinionated ones who spoil things for the rest and I don't bother reading the news anymore. I've had a delivery of 5l of the finest Wye valley ale yesterday courtesy of my wife. I'll enjoy it in that garden today I think
  12. Maybe worth taking a look at a good local supplier when they start to open up. I bought a new lid the start of march from my local j&s I think for helmets you need to go to a shop rather than online. I'm pleased with my scorpion exo 1400 carbon I could have bought cheaper online but least this way I know it fits properly
  13. The mt03 would be cost effective and is quite frugal on the fuel, a good used one would hold its price it you look after it and then want something bigger. The Duke 390 is a good little hooligan bike too. When you get a chance to take a look at a few and weight up what you want. At least if you buy a good used bike you shouldn't lose much money if any if you do get bored and want something bigger

  15. I think it's fair to say it's bad biking or everyone going out on big rides out and swamping small towns and villages. With what it going on it's so important to have the support of the public. It's tough some have been stuck inside with nothing to do, others like myself have been stuck at work with no opportunity to get any leave or go out and relax. Either way it's tough times but we will all get through this. I was planning to take a short ride out with my wife yesterday or today and had prepped the bike but her fibromyalgia and arthritis struck again to put pay to that. No way will I be going out as a group for the foreseeable. Stay safe and be sensible everyone, look to get out when we can and support small towns and businesses getting back on their feet
  16. Looks like a great project it will be great to see it all going back together
  17. Great beans thanks for that it's good to know plus British made tyres too
  18. I'm looking at putting Avon storm 3d on my tracer this summer. I have standard Dunlop d222 sportmax rigged as standard and for the first 1000 miles they were ok in the wet and dry but very skittish in the damp. 5k in they are Ok now but I don't have 100% confidence in them. A few people with tracers recommended the Avon's and my dealer also stocks them as they are a popular fitment. Anyone else used them or considering them ?
  19. Still working 6 on 4 off and I have to say it's very strange riding into work on the quiet roads. Those motorists on the roads fit into 2 categories at the moment no middle ground. Either drive perfectly text book 30 in a 30 and God observations etc or drive round like they stole it. Thankfully there isn't much on the road near me most seem to be doing what they can to stop in. Fingers crossed another 2 weeks and we may be at the peak of this virus
  20. Maybe consider a cb500x decent 1st bike. Just depends what sort of bike you are looking for but I'm guessing this would fit the bill without breaking the bank or being too expensive to insure
  21. I already own a Tracer 850 (2015). Th first year it was really smooth and a joy to ride. Then, slowly, it started surging and snatching. It had the ECU re-mapped which improved it but it has slowly reverted to the same surging and snatching. Yamaha didn't want to know and the garage said that they all did it. I test rode the later version (900 2018) and that had the same problem as mine. It is quite bad now and I have to slip the clutch on roundabouts and sharp turns because of it. I am now looking at replacing it with the 900 GT and, as a recent purchaser and obvious fan, I was wondering if you could tell me if you've noticed any of this on your bike. I love the Tracer for it's ride, stability and power and have the GT in my sites for a test ride when this virus eases off. So far it's been all fine no such issues and using it in all weather's I'm approaching 5k. What sort of mileage were you at when you encountered the issues? Maybe 2nd opinion from another dealer as sounds like something they should have sorted or a quick email to yamaha UK.
  22. As already said go to a shop and try a load on and get some advice. I've just replaces my hjc is max2 with a new helmet, it was due to be replaced and I no longer needed a flip front. I've now got a scorpion exo 1400 carbon. Felt really comfy and super light and has a little air pump to get the perfect fit. I have to say it's super comfy but was £320 but came with a clear and smoked visor and pinlock insert. Went to j&s and tried the whole shop on pretty much.
  23. Just saw this article looks like a decent tourer! https://www.visordown.com/news/industry/cf-moto-adventure-bike-spotted-testing
  24. Co stant rain and now wind over the wi twr I feel your pain. Commuting through the winter top hasn't been great. I clew and the tracer the other day and went out for a ride, I wish I'd left the panniers off they didn't help with the crosswinds! Roll on the spring it's been a miserable winter
  25. Sounds like you have it all planned out now. We'll done for getting the services benefits, you serve your country and deserve some recognition enjoy!
