1. I expect he's celebrating his birthday
2. I use my iPhone 8 Plus on a Quadlock holder on the handlebars. Phone is waterproof and has withstood some torrential downpours with no ill effects. Works brilliantly with Waze or Scenic apps. Communicates with my Schuberth C4 helmet using Bluetooth to get navigation instructions or phone calls should I deem to accept them (generally don't on the bike). Waze is fantastic as it updates instantly with traffic snarl ups etc. You do need a power cable for the phone though, but you'd have one for the sat nav anyway. I have never used more than a few hundred kbs of data even on a 250 mile run so well within my 20gb allowance. I was looking at the new TomTom 550 but am so happy with Waze etc on the phone I don't think I'll bother.
3. happy birthday Stu
4. A site worth bookmarking.
5. have you checked the relay as already mentioned above?
6. widen the gate possibly
7. all well and good but what if you have like 5 mates in separate cars doing a convoy that are using two way radios set to a PMR frequency? This would be way too distracting on a motorbike. I'd just use my mobile phone to occasionally keep in touch.
8. It would be really helpful if you were to tell the forum where you are located. If you click on your name and go to the user control panel you can put your location in the profile tab.
9. One of those load carriers like in Aliens would be really cool.
10. This is very true. Google "Annette Carrion" for an example of what happens when you don't have sufficient experience for the type of riding they are doing.
11. Yes I used to have a Harley Fatboy when I lived in London. It was brilliant for posing on the Kings Road especially with the Screaming Eagles. But in those days the brakes were rubbish and it is a very big heavy bike. I think the brakes have improved since. But they are really cool if that is your thing. The solid wheels and all the chrome take some looking after. But they do look fantastic and sound amazing.
12. Well done Staffy What bike are you going for?
13. The Harley website does the conversion for you: 107 = 1745cc 114 = 1868cc
14. yes I know but they have fantastic websites for comparing prices of whatever shop one ends up using.

19. Well I timed that well. Just got bike cleaned and lubed and it started raining.
20. Went for a ride out this morning on my favourite route from Disley to Whalley Bridge, Chapel, Edale loop to Hope and then Castleton to Winnats Pass then headed down towards the Yondermann Cafe on A623. There were loads of bikers there and some very interesting old bikes. The sun certainly brought them out. Nice brew with friendly people. Too early for the heart attack special as I'd not long had breakfast at home. Then took the back roads over to Buxton, Congleton and Macclesfield and back to Disley. Lovely route dry roads and slightly overcast so not cooking in the leather jacket. Tried out my new Hood jeans - brilliant. Nice to see English firms producing quality gear. Lots of people out on motor bikes, push bikes, walking, open top cars - perfect English weather for being outdoors. Back home to lube chain and remove bugs splattered over helmet and bike.
