1. What you have there is a paraffin spray gun, e.g. from Machine Mart: https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/26c-paraffin-spray-gun/ I use such a gun for spraying AFC-50 on my bike and other things. Also useful for any other liquid really. You should be able to the get the spray tip from Machine Mart.
2. Been along the Cat & Fiddle a few times myself, great road but I think i'll wait for the new road surface to bed in before I go along there again.
3. Work is good for the soul.
4. Just don't bother with the hot tub, they are so mmaaaaaahhhhhhh!
5. Chinese made, I wouldn't want to to put that to the test. You get what you pay for. But I suppose better than nothing
6. At least your brakes work then.
7. more to do with how big your cojones are. Both require a very good understanding of the technical aspects of positioning, vanishing point, apex etc. But roads have lots of street furniture, walls, mud, grit and oil on the road surface. Tracks have nice smooth surfaces and run offs when you get it wrong and I for one would prefer to do any racing on a track.

Enjoy the Peak District, next you are up here there are some fantastic rides.
9. There are also a lot of Youtube videos of people doing advanced training courses. Search for Back2TheBike for a guy who has come back to bikes after a long hiatus and is now doing the IAM course.
10. get yourself on a bikesafe course as a first step http://www.bikesafe.co.uk/ or contact your local training organisation to see if they do any advanced courses. A more rigorous course would be those offered by IAM, ROSPA etc. It is worth looking at Motorcycle RoadCraft the Police motorcylists bible and is used as the basis for IAM training. Learn IPSGA
11. Looks like I’m a bit paranoid or over cautious at least.
12. a huge U lock and a disk lock and a chain. I always use all three. Plus I had Triumph fit their alarm and immobiliser. I am hoping there are easier targets. I am contemplating getting a tracker as well e.g. https://monimoto.co.uk/ has anybody used such a device?
13. good for you, well done sammym . Keep aware of what's going on around you at all times. There are so many plonkers in cages on the road these days. This morning going into work a white van did a u turn right in front of me without any warning or indication. He really pissed off another white van coming up quickly behind him. Fortunately I was behind both and had plenty of time to react.
14. wow that is some 1st bike. Careful it doesn't bite.
15. Good plan. I ditched Facebook several years ago as I was fed up with the amount of time it took up. I’d never go on it now.
16. Oh! wasn't it long enough?
17. CP = control panel Where you put your user profile.
18. nice, you need to update your CP.
19. You can use fuel stabiliser which keeps the fuel from going off for over a year. I use this stuff in lawnmower, chain saw, motorbike, sports car in fact in anything I don't use for long periods and it works a treat: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000JJHNAW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
20. It would be a quick trip back in that thing.
21. That is a good deal. You can put a larger box on the same rack later if you wish, or do without and bungy a tail bag on the same rack. Multiple options. Which dealer did you use in the end?
22. Throttle position sensor Maybe
