  1. Yeah thats what i was thinking. I wasnt sure if there were any kevlar jeans that have the zip on the top. Maybe i should just eat a diet of fried food for a few weeks then i wont have a problem!
  2. Yeah, i didnt think of getting two seperate brands. May try J&S tomorrow
  3. Wouldnt they just have to take chunks of leather out?
  4. So i went to HG today to try on some leathers as i thought now im going to be doing long distances and the occasional junction on the motorway, oh and going a bit faster than i was on my 125, i needed some more protection! Tried on some alpinestars, jacket fine but trousers were too baggy round the ass area (as i have none). Then Arlen Ness, again jacket perfect, but trousers were extremeeeeeeeelyyyy tight round my calf so much so that i couldnt do up the zips but again baggy in the ass area! I must have tried on every make in there and not one pair of trousers fitted me!!! So i dont know what to do, i really want a leather jacket but what do i wear on the bottom half if i cant wear leathers? My textile trousers are ok in the winter (although may look a bit silly) as i can zip the two together. But in the summer what do i do? So what does everyone wear, leather and leather, leather and textile etc?
  5. That Shoei looks pretty retro! How old is it?

    Coolant

Just noticed whilst cleaning the Kwak that the coolant needs topping up. As i have never had to do this ever before i wasnt sure what to use so checked the manual. Seems that i need to mixed distilled water and some other crap. Is there an easier way of doing it? Like buying it pre mixed straight out of a bottle or something? Cheers
  7. Haha i think i may have to accept that! It doesnt affect my enjoyment i just downt want to be damaging the bike without realising :s
  8. Thats put my mind at ease i guess. The other thing is, if i change in to first from neutral when stationary the bike jerks forward quite a bit. the clutch seems to be fully engaged as if i hold the clutch in in first then rev the bike doesnt want to pull at all. Any ideas? Or, again, is this normal?
  9. citroen C3 1.4l diesel...safe to say my kwak is far nicer and better than the car!
  10. considering im a a 5ft 7in, 10 stone guy i think ill give it a miss
  11. Ive got some under my pilion seat/hump on my Kwak and wondered how you use them? They are two small J hooks either side of the frame under the seat. I cant see any obvious way of securing a helmet to them. I also saw someone using them to carry a pillion helmet whilst riding, is this safe? Thanks guys
  12. Didnt make a difference for me, £420 before test on a 125, 420 after . I think below a certain age it doesnt change.
  13. Nope you can. The only difference between the two licenses in entitlements is the power restriction. Im trying to find a willing participant to be the first to go on the back of my Kwak at the moment
  14. If youre just going to ride around on a 125 you might as well just stick with the CBT for now then do the test closer the time you have the cash to buy a bigger bike. Having practice on a 125 for a few months will really help in the test, will effectively make it cheaper as you probably wont need as much training
  15. I know theyre not the rift ones but they seem pretty cheap! This is the link for the jacket http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0352348462
  16. I have the 2005 model mate. Mine seems to do the same, shot up to 110 yesterday when riding but seems to cool down when you pick up speed
  17. Sounds like a decent ride korben Like the jacket btw, what is it? Found that most drivers were also shocking today, must be the good weather making people not concentrate! Some moron thought it would be a good idea to pull out in the middle of the road trying to force herself in to the traffic to turn right and decided it would be better not to stop for me until i honked at her!
  18. Vigilante Stu it sounds like! Good on ya though stu
  19. Got my 636 yesterday and managed to go out for a ride today before work! WOW! overtaking is a breeze and many a time i didnt realise how fast i was going until i looked at the speedo ! Acceleration is the best part, 0 -30 in a blink and the roar of the exhaust (a little bit nicer than my 2stroke 125!). However, when im changing gears, it seems a bit (and sounds a bit) clunky. I hope you know what i mean. Sometimes it doesnt happen but more often than not it does, especially changing from 2 to 1 or 1 to 2. Is this normal or is something wrong? Just sounds a bit off putting and just doesnt feel very smooth! Any advice appreciated
  20. I think the key is discretion in the conditions and circumstances. There is no point, like you said, saying give or take 2 mph. But the examiner should be able to tell whether the speed travelled at its one that is suitable in the conditions. There is no point training these examiners if they are just ticking boxes, i could do that with no training!
  21. Ahh right, thats a bit of a pain. On the red route ones can you detach the armour if necessary or is it sewn in? Love the look of the roed routes, its just that zip that bugs me!
  22. Did you try on the draggin next gen ones? Ive been looking for them everywhere and cant find them at all!
  23. Nice idea Gem! Heres mine, used to love it but seems to be getting loose though. Bloody expensive things! http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j237/Gizmojunky/SDC11811.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j237/Gizmojunky/SDC11812.jpg
