  1. I had three instructors over my CBT and restricted access and they were all excellent. Two of them really chilled out and took their time with me. The other was exactly the same over the radio whilst i was riding, but would be a bit more animated when off the bike and going through things. Some people may perceive someone who is trying to drive a point home as being angry if you're not doing something right. Just take it with a pinch of salt. Remember that you're the one paying them to teach you and if it takes you longer then so be it. Im sure you wont have a problem at all, so good luck and ride safe
  2. I did mine just before it switched over and had it all done in a week (although i was doing a restricted license). Also, put your location in your profile as some people may then be able to recommend you some places to go
  3. Unless the back protector is 5 inches thick I think I'm still going to have a huge gap!! Lol I have belt loops, why did I not think of that!?! Wow really not with it today. Might try braces too but I'll see how I get on just using a belt. Thanks everyone! JEEZ Gem! How much weight did you lose in 4 days?!? That cant be healthy lol
  4. You could get them professionally altered? Although, if you get an appetite back youll have to pay for them to be professionally altered again I think dans suggestion of belt loops are the best option in my opinion....however hip and cool braces are these days
  5. Ive stayed in that hotel! In that very room you have the camera pointed at upstairs! Spooooooky....
  6. Turned it over bang on 10, expecting there to be build up etc. No. They literally were pulling away as the programming started! Then 2 second interviews at the end, job done. It p*sses me off no end!!!!!! I cant believe we HAVE to pay £110 (ish) a year for this crap!

  12. Thought rick was on a 650? that's what his radiator cover says anyhoo.... Yup its a 650 My bad then! The heat must have been getting to me!
  13. Put petrol from a jimmy can in to a plastic jug to pour it in to the bike? I cant remember but doesnt petrol melt plastic or something? Itd only be for a few seconds, just to transfer it over, but i dont want bits of plastic going in the tank too!!
  14. At the weekend, rick said he got 50mpg out of his 1250 bandit!!!! I wish my 600 would do that

  17. Just got back My ass hurts SOOO bad. No inappropriate jokes thank you Had a really nice time, nice to see so many turn up for Mikey! Nice to put some names to faces
  18. 40mpg....sounds about right! Havent seen it before though, good idea mate
  19. Yup, was told by my instructor to NEVER filter on my test. He said that it wont give you any minors if you dont nor will it take any off if you do it correctly but he will if you do it incorrectly. Anyway, surely sitting in traffic is better....less time to make any mistakes
  20. I have the standard sidi vertigo, very light and air circulates pretty well. I think they do a ultra-summer one, vertigo air i think. Although you may only be able to use them on hot days, so i settled for the standard vertigos Oh and J&S are doing their 20% thing still, got mem for just over £140 i think which i thought was a pretty good deal!
  21. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/Ri ... 20test.pdf Have a look at that mate, came third in the test and only by a couple of marks. Got full marks for waterproofness and straps.
  22. Like others have said perserverance is the key! Just get up early one morning (i got up at 6 when i got my 600 so i could concentrate without having to worry about traffic and could get a hang of the bike), then just pull away, stop, pull away stop. Then one youve got that pull away, get in to second for 50metres or so then drop to first then stop. Just keep repeating it, one step at a time until you have it nailed. If you start to mess up on pulling away then stop the 2nd gear thing then go back to the beginning and practice pulling away. If it takes you a day then brilliant! If it takes you longer then so be it, at least youll be safe You seem to already have taken the initiative to try and practice without going haring around so you seem sensible enough Oh and post up your location in this post and on your profile. If youre close to anyone, someone may be willing to come out and give you a hand or talk you through it or something Good luck and ride safe!
  23. Well for Mikeys meet next week i will be having to take more than a rucksack can carry i think (or more than i want to carry in a rucksack) as i will be staying the night with mates on the way back. So will need something that i can fit extra luggage in and read directions off so i was thinking of a tank bag. The majority ive seen are a bit chunky, any specifically good for sports bikes that people can recommend? Thanks
  24. Awesome :mregreen: nice one dude! The examiner was in a car? Havent heard of that before! Ride safe
  25. Bike shows mate. Not up your end of the country so don't know if there are any coming up near you but give it a google and see what you find. Picked mine up for £75 i think, cant exactly remeber, from Ally Pally show. Or ebay...
