  1. Drones with forcefields. And guns. Hate gulls. I looked away for a second and a gull had swallowed my deep fried haggis in one go . bast*rds ! I even saw one swallow an ice cream cone without breaking it . Once saw a group of youths throwing bread to seagulls in Brixham, I thought this to be an unusual pastime for a bunch of delinquents, until I realised they were throwing it in the road ahead of traffic, I asked if they’d had any luck, they said no, but had wrapped steradent tablets in bread and watched the gulls throwing up mid air or staggering around looking like they had rabies. I cannot condone such actions but did make me snigger.
  2. Off topic I know ..... but why did M&P close down? I was gutted, it was local with a wide variety of stock at competitive prices. I worked there for ten years, its complicated and I don't really want to talk about it in detail . Briefly, it was only M&P for part of the ten years it was open . It went stand alone under the name MPS and was re acquired by M&P and branded as Busters . Why did it eventually close ? Among many reasons , the internet probably played a part . Other reasons were disappointed customers, poor stock control , false promises , unpaid suppliers, embezzlement, floods , out of touch management , theft , and a badly chosen location . And that's all I want to say about that. I remember it going through various names, but ‘nuff said.
  3. It hasn’t got one, it closed down !! However was in Holbrooks near the Hub pub. Now I look a tit coz Raeswell deleted his post
  4. Oddly enough that same day was the first opening day of M&P Coventry and we were absolutely mobbed , dozens of bikes right down the street , five deep at the counter , pandemonium. Off topic I know ..... but why did M&P close down? I was gutted, it was local with a wide variety of stock at competitive prices.
  5. I was 15 in the summer of ‘76 Took full advantage of the hot weather to pursuade young ladies to partake of a bevy and take a wander through the fields on a balmy evening Ripping round the woods on a C50 in shorts until it got dark or the parky got pissed off with the noise and chased us off. Park football kick abouts only lasted 1/2 hour coz it was too hot and every one buggerd off to buy ice pops. Remember the news showing dried up rivers and stand pipes - we were lucky no to have it affect us. Went to watch a local scramble ( Moto x ) - huge mistake, after the first lap you couldn’t see a thing, the dust was horrendous.
  6. Thanks I’ll give it a whirl Bollox, the first one I tried and the damper rod is turning, so I’m gonna go down the route of locking a couple of M20 nuts onto some threaded bar and giving that a try.
  7. It’s gonna be a complete strip down as I’m having the fork lowers powder coated, good tip though.
  8. Thanks I’ll give it a whirl
  9. Hi, already looked there, no 30mm EXTERNAL AF drives
  10. I’m not on FB for various reasons. Could you ask on my behalf? Ta
  11. I need to strip apart the forks on the Trophy, apparently this requires a 30mm external AF drive on the end of a long bar to remove the damping rod. I do not possess such a thing or do I possess anything with a 30mm external hex. Anyone got any ( sensible) ideas? Ta.

    Brilliant

Any chance of a link? I’ve had a look and can’t find it myself. I’d like to see if it says “believed to be riding without insurance” which is not at all the same as “they were riding without insurance” “Ride without insurance and we’ll knock you off” or maybe “do get insurance and we will knock you off anyway” It was in the rag, can’t find a link - usual sensationalised MCN reporting.

So according to today’s MCN, GMP said they were believed to be riding without insurance, the mopeds were seized and no arrests made. Now, while this is a crime and can be a pointer to other potential offences, was this an over reaction? It’s not like they had refused to pull over !! I wonder what would have happened if one of the culprits had been seriously injured? Also can we now expect GMP to start ramming uninsured car drivers? - it would be mayhem if the numbers are to be believed!
  15. Yeah, I’m sure Eastenders or Corrie are on the other side for you.
  16. Who’ll get shot in the morning??
  17. Too right I’ve got a 1200 1994 Triumph Trophy Looked pretty good and ripe for a cafe racer conversion, once the fairings were off it exposed all sorts of corrosion that is now being fixed.
  18. The hips don’t lie
  19. Yeah Lovely coffee
  20. Yep It’s udderly ridiculous
  21. I did one 4 years ago. The lasting memory was how absolutely clueless some people are when it comes to the Highway Code and any road sense. When asked what the speed limit was on a dual carriageway there were a range of answers from 50 to 80 mph, the pain on the lecturers face was hilarious, when he said the correct answer was 70mph unless otherwise indicated, a posh lady demanded to know why she had been nicked for doing 58. A slide was shown of a small strip of urban road with a couple of junctions, we were then asked to point out the hazards, I started reeling them off, the guy then asked me to give others a chance and that I was obviously a biker. I brought up the subject of filtering and about half thought it was illegal. During a break, chatting to the guy, I said I expected he got a lot of bikers on his course, he said not really, bikers tend to stick reasonably well to lower limits, his biggest customer group were school run parents.

  23. Just got a letter from the WM police asking me to confirm I was the rider doing 48 in a 40 limit. To be fair I remember the van, hidden around a corner parked illegally early on a sunny Sunday morning with no other traffic or people around. Still, no denying it was me so will I get points or one of the condescending Speed awareness courses run by ex coppers at a huge profit?
  24. Enough already, Any fule no It’s behind the dual phase EC bracket and beneath the LH Gill Lube cover.
