Good Morning Good Night and General Chat.

WTF? How do they justify that? And more importantly does that mean a new bike is on the horizon? -
Wow they are taking the michael. Another one for Bennetts. They have a list of mods that are already included in the price. Exhausts being one of them.

it started as a trundle and ended as a bimble ......and don't you just know it'll end up with a Gobble? As in giving blowjobs to truck drivers in motorway service areas. Sickening depraved shit in my book. I nearly asked how you know that but thought best not....

Happy Birthday. Hope you’re half way down a bottle of something good by now

It’s not likely a popular opinion on here but I’m all for stopping the planet melting. But I’m never gonna support charges or taxes that restrict people’s freedom based on their income and it does only penalise people who can’t afford it. The only way any charge reduces traffic is when its so high low income folk can’t afford to pay but that’s ok the sociopaths who vote these things through can, so cough up or join the creaking public transport system.

? I have one and a mate has one n the boom fits so what do you mean it doesn’t fit properly?
-
Prefer visual cos you can glance at it like a map, it’s the third road on the left ahead etc where as the audio isn’t always clear which turning it means especially when there’s more than one road bunched up with another.

If you have no joy with the sensible suggestions here I’ve found milliput the dogs for emergency repairs that I’ve never had to go back to. The fact it’s used for underwater repairs still blows my tiny mind. The second link pdf has the instructions for plumbing repairs. Amazing stuff. Might be worth sticking some over whatever you do anyway. Anyone complained they’re cold yet! https://www.milliput.com/ https://www.mbfgfiles.co.uk/datasheets/milliput_tech.pdf

That rosey image isn’t one I’m familiar with. Helping with other jobs that have to be done also doesn’t appeal to children but they still do them. Women don’t learn the multiple traditional skills they leave home with because for example girls love to learn how to do the laundry. It’s a job that needs to be done, a skill that is useful to have and they will be shown how to do it. You only value it later when you need it. The uneven nature of what skills are taught to what child depending on what gender they are leaves everyone worse off. Daughters helping to fix a car or sons learning to sew probably isn’t on any child’s list. They’re memories and skills that will be appreciated later. It’s ingrained, handed from one generation to the next that a girl doesn’t have to help do men’s jobs and vice versa. Something that feels to me a wasted opportunity to only give them half a set of skills on the assumption they will couple up with someone of the other gender and complete the set. Or Mum Dad can just keep filling these roles for them for as long as they’re around which I suspect a lot of mums and dads rather like but in the long run it’s not the best outcome for the kid who will at some point be faced with costly bills or a dependency on others help with tasks they could easily complete themselves if they’d been shown. But heyho whatever there’s more than one way to skin a cat. -

I was reading it thinking eh my Pops does none of that stuff, he’ll give me advice on what to do if I ask and in the last 20 odd years he’s been round to help with the archaic electrics twice, that’s it. Richzx6r For gawds sake if you’re reading this I implore you (yes that biggly I implore you) to show your daughter how to do stuff for herself, get her to help you with mechanical faults, DIY, using different tools, anything usefully practical. It makes a big difference, not just to how much your running around after your offspring doing jobs later on but how she will approach life in general. If you’re brought up being shown how to do everything it fosters a feeling you can doing anything. The odd limitations placed on what you can and can’t do because your female simply don’t exist in your mind. It’s difficult to explain but spending time with your Dad showing you how to fix a car, drill a hole, solder a pipe, sort an electrical fault is as priceless for a woman as it is a man, maybe even more. He has given me skills that have saved me a fortune and an appreciation of how things work I would never have had otherwise. Of course his progressive parenting style wasn’t without its flaws, if you’re brought up thinking you’re an equal it’s a bit of a surprise to meet men who think you’re not So yer wot JRH said. -
CONGRATULATIONS you have a dinner invite! I live in a house of pedants, a misspelling, spoonerism, malapropism, one minor slip up and your point will go down in flames, the howling derision will be ringing in your ears for days. I read a slightly interesting article in The Independent yesterday entitled “Judging a person on their spelling and grammar reveals more about you than it does about them” and was gonna correct the typo but decided to leave it in and see who just had to pick up on it. In the interests of disclosure if the the boot was on the other foot it may well have been me Here if you’re interested... https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/spelling-grammar-judge-literacy-privilege-elitism-a9213516.html So let me me know when you’re available to pull up a chair, you’ll fit right in but I have to warn you if your too erudite, your discussion too articulate or eloquent you will be plied with wine until you start tripping up and then the real fun begins I am just saying that not all Triumph riders are stupid. Some of us are reasonably literate. And if I over-indulge in wine I tend to fall asleep long before anything more interesting happens. Vodka n redbull for you then. Though I think there are more vicious drinks of that ilk available now?

What do you use for your navigation? Phone How often do you use this? Maybe 20 times a yearish Do you believe this is an issue or could be improved? An option to make the display less cluttered with map detail and info might be useful. Have you ever had any accidents or close calls due to this or any other distractions? Could you explain what and why? Using sat nav- I once jammed on the brakes to make a left turn I was gonna miss because I wasn’t checking the sat nav directions in time. I checked there was no one behind me first but I know it was too much cos the ABS kicked in. No accident occurred, just felt like a tit. Changed lane three times because it wasn’t clear which lane went where, there was room to do it but I’m pretty sure I pissed off every car driver behind me. It would have annoyed me, I would have been muttering “make up your bloody mind” If the sat nav gave clearer verbal lane advice and said “2nd lane” or “middle lane” I might have not weaved all over the shop. I’m distracted by anything unusual or interesting and as I find a lot of things interesting the only cure would be horse blinkers and Im not sure but they might cause other issues How long counts as distracted? I glance at all sorts of stuff when I ride along... I like the colour of that door, oh that tree looks very green, look at that view, christ that’s a lot of leaves, oh dear they shouldn’t be wearing leggings, I can smell curry where’s that coming from? But really unless your a moron who probably shouldn’t be riding a bike you don’t allow yourself to become distracted cos you know it may lead to your untimely demise. Having said that a friend of mine was pulling up to the lights and sat at the bus stop where two good looking young women giggling in his direction, he was so busy looking at them trying to be cool he rode into the back of a lorry. Wrote his bike off, still makes me laugh now.

Oi !! I maybe loud & stupid but definitely not right wing Hehehe Once upon a time one of the Gallagher brothers was watching Zoe Ball doing her hyperactive DJ/presenter act (remember when every presenter shouted a lot to make their dull selves seem exciting) and he muttered to the other brother- “It’s like a single pea in an empty bucket, it’s makes a lot of noise but when you look in there’s nothing there” It’s stuck with me, often when I’m listening to other people talk I often find myself thinking it’s like a single pea... Mickly so far have not failed to illicit that response, you might have to up your game Perhaps I should say THAT LOUDER

Oh yeh and don’t forget the latest superb addition of Trump setting up a gofundme page called ‘Election Defence Fund’ I have not made this up! “President Trump needs YOU to step up to make sure we have the resources to protect the integrity of the election!” “Please contribute ANY AMOUNT IMMEDIATELY to the Official Election Defense Fund and to increase your impact by 1,000%!” I kid you not and in the small print 50% will go to the election defence fund the other 50% to Trump to pay off his general election campaign debt. It also takes you straight to a recurring payment page to make it difficult to just make a one off payment. They must be arguing over the film rights as we speak, although it might be too fantastical for film- Warning viewers may find some scenes upsetting. The events you are about see are all fact checked as true.

Tommy Vietor’s “Shapeshifting creep” is too stupid to recognise when he should be desperate. My dogs better at recognising when it’s time to slink off. Yup - that was a great description of Johnson, wasn't it? I have to say I couldn't be happier with how the US election has turned out. I was afraid that Trump might have been completely thrashed by a red-hot opponent, and would have had no option but to shuffle off stage and never be heard from again. But he's been beaten by a senile old duffer, and by a small enough margin that he thinks there's mileage in contesting it. And that press conference that was supposed to be in the Four Seasons Hotel that they accidentally booked at a garden centre next to a dildo store was comedy gold! What is it with the Americans and senile presidents? Senility must be on the selection criteria. Do you have absent moments when you may forget where you are, what you’re saying or doing? Yes? If more than 5 episodes a day please proceed to question two. Do you have any shady business dealings or dubious associations with large financial corporations? Yes? Excellent please proceed to question three. Do you have any firm beliefs either political or moral? Yes? Thankyou for your application we’re sorry to inform you you have been unsuccessful on this occasion please try again at a later date.. a much later more infirm date, while you can still walk and talk (just) but after you’ve lost all power of reason.

One of my friends parents were both killed crossing on a pedestrian crossing by a driver who was looking at their phone not the road, the driver walked away from court (due to incredible ineptitude) without even points on their licence which was impossible to believe at the time but thats what happened. So I’d say no in reality there’s not a lot of hope. The desperation of the parents that this person should at least come back and face up to what they’ve done is so palpable it does make you hope, even when in reality there’s little to none and I suppose that’s one of the ways we use the word hope, hope when there’s none because of what we want to happen rather than what is happening. There’s always hope often really means exactly the opposite.
