Thing is @husoi is it does put some people off contributing. Makes them feel intellectually inferior which spelling and grammar is no indication of. So is Portuguese your first language?
It just reminded me of the time I wrote a note for my son and used the wrong ‘your’
The next day the teacher came running out of the classroom after me with a sheet in her hand. She explained I’d used your rather than you’re (I do that a lot), why it was wrong then handed me the piece of paper.. which was a ‘fill in the gaps’ homework sheet on the different uses for you/your/you’re.
I looked at her assuming it was a joke to see a dead serious face who was seriously concerned my absent minded use of the wrong ‘your’ might tip humanity into further chaos. I failed contain my laughter at this poor woman’s priorities, she desperately wanted to know what was so funny so I simply said “I know the difference but normal people don’t care”
Oh man I felt bad, her little face crumpled inward, she really thought it was that important and she was doing me a huge favour.
I took the sheet, saw her the next day and said I’d had a look at the sheet and thought it was very good. She was very happy, I guess some people’s world orbit around the little things.
