  1. Although I have a centre stand I never use it for fueling. Always just the side stand. Even if I stay on the bike while filling I'll keep the side stand down. I've got a 17 litre tank so I get about 160 miles ot of it.
  2. If you are going to do that try and replace it with Nissin.
  3. Have to say I have that with the Guzzi a bit. Probably incipient senility setting in.
  4. I never carry a pillion as no one in the family is brave enough. I once included it in the quote to see what difference it made and it was about £50. So not peanuts.
  5. Today's highlight was arriving in Nigeria but nothing happening until tomorrow. I also got my Speed Awareness Course booked for June 5th so hopefully I'll be home by then. West Mercia's finest, shame about their crime detection rate.
  6. Did try to persuade someone to do the online version as me but there were no takers. Disgustingly honest some people. I'd do it online here if I could be confident the Internet wouldn't collapse into a heap of crap which it does far more often than I'd like. Got worse as well.
  7. Photo would be helpful? Oh and welcome.
  8. Look suitably blinding! Hopefully they'll work on the road. OEM on the Ducati were like candles in a jam jar, pretty hopeless. Guzzi has LEDs as standard and are vastly superior although I've noticed a considerable increase in oncoming vehicles flashing me. I don't think it's because of my general aura of awesomeness but probably because my lights are a bit more dazzling.
  9. At the moment I should be home no later than end of May and be around until end of August. I have mentioned to my employers that I have to be home by the beginning of June so I can attend a speed awareness course. I'll be right pissed off if I end up with 3 points etc because I'm stuck on bloody ship!
  10. Don't know why the pic came out 90 degrees out. Hey ho.
  11. I'll be at sea again most likely.
  12. I might be on my way to a not very nice place but at least for the weekend I've got this view from my office:
  13. Sadly it wasn't me and if it was my bike I'll be having words with my son in law!
  14. My bike had heated grips as stock so nothing to change there. Operate through the TFT screen etc.
  15. Replace visor once a year. I find scratches more of an issue in winter when more likely to be riding in dark.
  16. I still find the combination of keis inner gloves run off the bikes system (also have a keis liner jacket) and heated grips works best for me. Since I hit on this combination haven't had cold hands. May try the Macna kit next winter for a change.
  17. Sounds as if she has all the qualities needed on the basis of current and previous occupants of the post.
  18. Fortunately as I'm next to tone deaf I can't tell the difference between music on a high end system or a pair of headphones on a phone. Saved myself thousands. Not sure about the lack of mortgage and credit rating - I've not had a mortgage for close on 20 years and my credit rating is as good as it gets really.
  19. I might be interested except my brother works for a big manufacturer of high end outdoors kit so I get 70% off their stuff. Unfortunately so far they don't do bike specific stuff but for base layers etc they're very good.
  20. I changed from a Schuberth to a Shoei funnily enough at around 5 years. The Schuberth was becoming loose and there were a few chips on the outside. I have no idea what the Sharp rating is for any of my helmets. Not worried about it either.
  21. That's one way of looking at it!
  22. There's a lot I still like about London but it's changed a lot over the last 30 years and not necessarily for the better. Introducing a London mayor has been a bit of a disaster - Livingston, Bojo and Khan. Names to strike fear into anyone with a functioning brain.
  23. Apparently even well looked after helmets can deteriorate with time. Liners certainly do although you can buy replacements for many quality helmets. The hard shell theoretically can too although speaking personally mine are always getting little dings and chips from wear and tear. It's an excuse that my wife seems to accept anyway.
  24. Aren't we supposed to change helmets every 5 years or so?
  25. That sounds about right. Complete cluster f**k.
