  1. It can be but the latest recommends running off the bike's power. I think if you use it for something like walking the dog and don't use the highest setting you can get an hour or two of the battery pack.

    Iceland.....

It would. I got as far as Trondheim before I had to turn back.
  3. My son lost his front fence. Narrowly missed hitting the cars. Fortunately he's only just had his roof and chimney stack renewed. Probably have had serious issues with them otherwise.
  4. I've just bought a Keis jacket today. It can be run off battery but the enclosed instructions recommends you don't.

    Iceland.....

Most of Scandinavia is expensive and so far it hasn't stopped me from going there. Finland and Iceland are the last 2 to visit. Norway is the only one I've done on a bike though.

    Iceland.....

Interesting to see how much info there is about touring Iceland on the Internet. Looks really good but the big issue must be getting your bike over there unless you rent locally.
  7. We had wild winds early Saturday morning and fortunately I got into Bristol on Friday night. If I'd been on the Saturday morning flights I'd still be in Glasgow. Damage wise we've had nothing and so far as I know there's been some localised flooding and a few trees down. Nothing dramatic and certainly not the Armageddon that was forecast. We even got the red alert thing to our phones. Initially thought the end of the world was nigh but as usual it wasn't.
  8. We often end up with Chinese products on ships and in just about every single case they end up not fit for purpose. Last year 3 of our ships had to replace their actual lifeboats as the ones supplied started cracking. This is not acceptable.
  9. Don't have a problem with Korean. All my recent ships bar one have been built in Korea and they are vastly superior to anything built in Europe at the moment. The one ship that wasn't Korean was Chinese built and that was shite. Company got shot of it after 5 years.
  10. GPS has a lot to answer for i think. People following it and diving off at last minute regardless of traffic in intervening lanes.
  11. I'll be honest I have zero interest in buying a Chinese bike regardless of what it's called. Just not my thing.
  12. Some of us are going to be a bit more embarrassed than others!
  13. Brave, understandable but..... had the idiot failed to react quickly enough which is quite possible you could potentially have been in a world of hurt. Probably not worth it. Personally I'd prefer to let the idiot push in then serenely waft past them at the next stoppage. Possibly with a gesture of disapproval as I pass.
  14. Why? You can't have a car licence until you are 17 so why would you want to raise the age that someone can ride a 50cc moped? I'd support lowering it to 15.
  15. Company night out last night and very pleasant it was too. Drank a bit but not as much as some of my colleagues who are going to be probably a bit off this morning.
  16. Port gives a wicked hangover but I do like it.
  17. In a fit of absent mindedness I left my phone in the office yesterday so in the evening found myself reduced to watching tv in the hotel. Free channels only. Bloody hell! What an absolute load of unmitigated tripe. If there were no ads it was just shite. The odd interesting program was 10 minutes of "stuff" followed by 5 minutes of ads whichvery soon had me losing the will to live. Went and spent an hour in the bar with a drink or two and women's football on the tv (yawn) then had an eary bed. Determined to never ever allow an idiot boxinto the house. Fortunately the missus is even more anti them than me.
  18. Very true. That's why I never had any Rukka until now as I'm bit of a tight bast*rd.
  19. I'll be honest if I had the choice of living in the US or here I'd be gone so fast you'd just see the dust. That said I'd be picky about where I lived in the US.
  20. Better put together and feel more solid. However there is no way on God's earth that I'd pay full price for them.
  21. To my surprise I did but I was buying new winter riding kit anyway so getting a significant saving was advantageous. I'd have needed the stuff anyway as my old gear was past it.
  22. I quite like America and Americans given my brother lives there and I've had some brilliant holidays over there. Also I go there a lot for work and it is a hassle free experience generally.
  23. On a training course in Clydebank for the week. Heavy going.
  24. Got home from sea on November 7th. Had the 2 youngest grandchildren 8th,9th and 10th. On 11th I'd have gone back to sea in a flash had it been on offer. According to my wife the tiny terrorists were being exemplary.
  25. Jeez. Looks as if you are one of the unlucky few who respond really badly to vaccines. Luckily for me I don't, at least not yet.
