how about painting that exhaust plate and surrounding areas with some hammerite smooth black paint it would look more presentable and it would help to sell the bike -
i think they used to be called duct boards for keeping you off the cold concrete floors in engineering works plus they give you a bit more height and height is exactly what i need

it is time a new british manufacturer got busy making small/ mid sized bikes at reasonable money with above all reliability and doesn't rust in front of our eyes our lot have had their pants taken down for far too long
