must be worth a TMBF buff or two
  3. When i went for my theory yesterday and parked in town, i had a disc lock, wire rope type lock and chain and padlock and parked at the proper MC bay and chained to the bollards, there were 2 other bikes there and only one had a chain on it, all three were still there though when i came back
  4. Thanks everyone, i will be giving myself some intensive practice sessions on the cones for MOD 1, i knew there was a reason why i saved the potnoodle containers, just need a roll of orange tape or some paint
  5. Not doing DAS, going straight for A1 (125cc), can't afford to do DAS and by the time i can my CBT will have expired, doing A1 is cheaper than CBT does not expire and can upgrade to full anytime in the future ( subject to doing another MOD 1 and 2 ) Its only cheaper if you pass! ... Bloody well make sure you do! I intend to

  7. Re test today - Managed to find another school that could get me a test sooner. Back out in Burgess Hill this morning and got it! It's almost as if they knew me as we spent 10 mins on the dual carriageway(Different slip entry this time!) Thought i'd cocked it up right at the end, as Van coming towards me overtaking parked cars in an industrial estate. My last lesson was all about there's loads of room go for it, so i went for it, the examiner sat back and waited. Pulled me om it as the only minor. Either way - taxed and insured the street triple and been out already - great feeling!! Well done
  8. All done and dusted, scored 47 on the multi choice and 57 on the hazard perception, onwards and upwards now

You need to at least double that figure! I would also add a couple more zero's to it
  10. Yet there is scientific proof ( just ask Dr Hilary ) that chicken soup helps fight off colds and flu That is true. A study of jewish people who eat a lot of chicken soup/broth rarely get cancer of the digestive system, bowels etc... don't have chicken soup as such but i do make some really tasty stews mainly chicken but do other meats occassionally, in fact i was thinking of one for this Sunday's dinner

  12. Another major change i have made though is cut out a lot of caffeine, i only have one cup of coffee in the morning then the rest of the day i drink squash, sometimes might have a coffee in the afternoon or if i'm out but even then i often take some squash with me
  13. When i used to meet up with my mates at the pub i often drove there so i would have an excuse not to drink, my friends were often bemused why i wouldn't drink and couldn't understand that i was quite happy with softdrinks, since i moved away though i have stopped smoking too, i eat my meat but i also eat veggie meals on a regular basis, and you can't go wrong with a pot noodle once or twice a week if your peckish, my biggest problem is eating snacks in bed while watching films or dvd's
  14. On the CG less than 30 seconds as it has some very handy luggage hooks for the bungees and the strap is easy enough as i have space between the top of the wheel and mudguard to get my hands in to fasten it, there are some side flaps that have some plastic D rings so you could attach more bungees or some other straps if needed
  15. Just arrived today so this is just a brief note on it, currently on sale from J & S at £39.99 actually bought from their ebay shop with free postage, link to main website for description https://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/buy/frank-thomas-jl02-tailbag/38500.htm it is bigger than i expected and it does expand it is about the same size as a small to medium topbox big enough to fit a helmet in, it has some attached straps in a zipped pocket so it can be used as a backpack, it comes with bungees to attach to luggage hooks and also a velcro strap, comes with a seperate shoulder strap, and a elasticated rain cover that fits over it, has 2 side pockets and a top carry handle, so far very impressed with the quality and construction and it's versatility of carrying options, i bought this mainly to use on the CG125, but i can also see me using on my Xena when going shopping instead of using a holdall strapped to the pillion seat, overall a pretty decent buy
  16. What grade oil are you using, it could also be down to temperature and may take longer for the oil to warm up, having read a few google searches it is quite common for the gears to clunk a bit from cold, and should smooth out once warmed up
  17. A simple test you can do to check the clutch is to put the bike on the centre stand or some other stand making sure the rear wheel is clear of the ground, with the engine running pull in the clutch lever and hold it in fully and put into gear if the wheel starts turning then the clutch needs to be adjusted
  18. Sounds like the gears are not engaging fully, are you pulling the clutch lever all the way and letting off the throttle when you change gear, otherwise it could be the clutch that needs adjusting or maybe a problem with the gear selector not fully engaging
  19. Link to FEMA article https://www.femamotorcycling.eu/a2-motorcycle-licence/
  20. What oil are you using fully synthetic or semi, also are you revving too high whilst slipping the clutch and maybe slipping for too long
  21. I did have a taster session about a year ago on a 600 fazer but didn't really gel with it, which didn't inspire me much to carry on, even now still not overly bothered going for the full A, one reason i have held back is that from 1st November the EU will be reducing the A2 requirement to a 250cc instead of a 400cc, and my plan was to wait and see if we follow suit over here, but i can't find any relevent info which probably means there won't be any changes for us Ah, that's right, your brought that up in the forum a while ago about that too. If we do follow suit with EU, it's going to be quite a big jump from A2 to full A if that was the case, lol, we just don't understand their logic on this! According to FEMA it was the Swedish that brought about this change because " it was a disadvantage to some men and women of smaller stature and strength not being able to manage a larger 400cc machine"
  22. My CBT expires in 6 months, doing the A1 is cheaper than taking another CBT and does not expire, doing the full A would mean using a school and at this point in time i don't have the spare funds and by the time i do my CBT may well have expired which would mean more unneccessary expense Fair enough Mike, I did recall you planning to take the DAS course a while back but understand that was before everything turned to crap this year. Good luck on your mods though! I did have a taster session about a year ago on a 600 fazer but didn't really gel with it, which didn't inspire me much to carry on, even now still not overly bothered going for the full A, one reason i have held back is that from 1st November the EU will be reducing the A2 requirement to a 250cc instead of a 400cc, and my plan was to wait and see if we follow suit over here, but i can't find any relevent info which probably means there won't be any changes for us

    Bike Sizing

Hello and welcome, the simplest way is to go and sit on some at various dealers, and until you get to ride them you won't know for sure what is right for you, other things to consider are what type of riding will you be doing
  24. Not bike specifically but been round all my locks and got them all oiled, i noticed one of them a bit stiff to open earlier so thought i would do them all
