1. Why not compromise and do the CBT on a twist and go, takes out the need for the gears. I was looking at getting a Lexmoto Hunter, but i managed to get a barn find moped, which is just needs to be registered now, but there is no shame in using a 50cc to get some practice in, if that will help you then go for it
2. I just wish that there were only organised displays and the general public were banned from buying them, there have been some twats just throwing them in peoples gardens under their windows etc. Our cats aren't bothered by them and will sit and watch them out of the windows sometimes, but more often than not will just carry on sleeping
3. A sandwich place i used to use in Bradford years ago did a Belly Buster, it was a barm bun which was the the size of a dinnerplate, and it was filled with a full brekky, 3 sausages, 3 rashers of bacon, 2 eggs, beans, grilled tomatoes and plum tomatoes, black pudding if you wanted it, this was back in the mid 90's and was a couple of quid inc a tea or coffee
4. At the moment i have 2 bikes parked at the front of my house, both are alarmed, 1 has a disc lock on the rear wheel, both are chained to a railing with heavy duty chains and padlocks through the frame and rear wheels, both are covered and a further wire type lock through the cover around the front wheels and through the railings. When i go out depending on which bike i go on, one is mainly just the disc lock and sometimes with the chain if parked up out of sight for some time like in town, the other as it has drum brakes i usually take the chain, and try and chain to something solid. I would fit some kind of anchor in your garage and chain it with a couple of chains, it might be a pain but it is more of a pain to have it nicked, but no amount of security is theft proof, if they want it they will have it

Another newbie!

good luck with the build, and please start a thread in the old, projects and restorations section of the forum, post plenty of pics and videos, as we like things like this
6. Use the number from the link, i am with bikesure and have got the discount
7. looks like the forum is intact and no loss of data
8. Slowly - but that's the point. It's something to play with during the winter with current restrictions on what we can do. It's also something I've never done before so figuring out how to do things is providing something of a challenge. Each tree takes a long time to get right but the end result is quite satisfying. Keep us updated with pics though! Wasn't @dynax doing something as well? Yup, took mine to bits other things to do first before i can start rebuilding
9. Thanks fastbob , Yes i will might have to wait though rain has put a temporary stop and my main camera isn't waterproof, i was very lucky that the rust is just superficial and not structual rot, i love the honesty of the patina, for some reason it just suits it, i have seen other mopeds like the Puch's and Moby's fully restored to showroom condition, but then they all look the same and seem to lack character, regarding the body amd metal work it will just get rubbed with linseed oil, i do need to do some welding on the rear luggage rack were it has come away from a small bracket but in no rush to do that yet
10. I think i have posted photos of my collection of CO2 pistols and rifles before
11. For all intents and purposes mechanically it is finished, cleaned out the tank the coca cola worked well enough, thoroughly cleaned with soapy water and rinsed, then flushed with methylated spirits, then flushed again with a mix of meths and 2t oil using this method leaves an oily coating as the meths evaporates , tank has been refitted and fuel tap and lines plumbed in, exhaust refitted, chain guard on, and finally all bolts and nuts and everything checked and tightened up, after dinner will mix up some fuel, petrol and 2t oil not cola and will give it a test run
12. f**k me! I must have not noticed us being wrenched back to the fifties! Is this what the services change is about? To update the attitudes @Stu ? I suspect it's dynax making his move for TOTY! I knew he would! No! You can keep the TOTY for Six30
13. I would have used Red Bull but i don't have a pilot's licence
14. Oh dear! not good, once you let them loose on tools and they discover the joys they start buying their own, and you know that they are their tools
15. It'll probably just burp like f@ck now! the tank is off the ped We also have working pedals now, took the rubber tread parts off the new pedals and put them in the old frames, had to do it this way as the original pedals have been welded to the arms so unable to unscrew them, but they work now that is all that matters
16. Just filled the Rizatto tank with coca cola the proper stuff, will give it 24hrs and see how clean and rust free the tank is
17. Ah, the curse of the torx head bolt ! Have you tried hammering in a similar sized but slightly larger Allen bit? I would drill it & use a bolt extraction kit, not a complicated job. For me it is! It's these types of jobs where an impact driver is a godsend
18. it's been 6 years since the last post so i suspect they called in a priest to deliver it's last rites
19. Another thing to bear in mind is to leave the certification sticker alone, do not remove it, you can cover it with tape when you paint over it, but it must remain intact otherwise it will render the helmet not fit to be used on a public highway
20. If you are going the airbrush way to paint them, i can recommend the Polyvine range of acrylic enamel paint https://www.craftmill.co.uk/decoupage-decopatch-blanks-supplies/enamel-airbrush-paint
21. Most modern lids are made from plastic as opposed to the older ones that were fibreglass, using modern acrylic enamel paints and primers won't have any detremental effect on the helmet, just make sure anything used is NOT solvent based and you should be good
22. XTreme i have had some success using an old flat screwdriver hammered into the hex head and some mole grips on the screwdriver shaft to get some weight behind it
23. I had an epiphany last night anyway just put it into practice and retapped the threads on the tank and fuel tap for the Rizatto, i found my hole size gauge and went to work, 5 mins later we have matching threads on both and they fit well, onto the tank cleaning now
24. As it's been stolen/recovered there could be any number of issues with it, the only real way to sort it would be to systematically check/inspect all of the fuel and electric systems including the wiring, and give it a major service, what you have to consider though, is it worth it, can you do it yourself or would you need the services of a mechanic, would you be better off advertising it as a spares/repair and using the money towards another bike/scooter, best of luck with it
25. It is the same headlight as used on the CB125TD, my CG is also the square one although i am seriously thinking of changing it for a round one, as the light spread and pattern is much better, there are plenty of replacements units on ebay complete with all the fittings and relevent holders
