Hi Jack, no never, done bike test, it seems there is a lot of contradictory statements within the DVLA, one area say's one thing, and other areas say something else
-
i have just checked mine and came across this, does this mean i could ride a bigger bike on L plates,
Vehicles you can provisionally drive
Category : A
Start date: 1 Nov 1987
End date: 2 Jul 2040
Image of category A vehicle Hide information
Description
You can drive a motorcycle of a power exceeding 35kW or with a power to weight ratio exceeding 0.2kW per kg, or A motorcycle of a power not exceeding 35kW with a power to weight ratio not exceeding 0.2kW per kg and derived from a vehicle of more than double its power. A motor tricycle with a power exceeding 15kW

A word of caution, is your Cat A full or restricted, i haven't got a full bike licence, but i do have Cat A restricted, which allows me to ride any size trikes or quads on my car licence, have a look at the back of your licence, and see if there are numbers against it https://www.gov.uk/driving-licence-codes

I'm gonna get a name plate made up for Xena, i wonder what response i will get from other riders
-
They might have done the side to side nod, not all nods, are the usual up and down
-
I nod to anyone, i have noticed riders of all types of bikes, that don't nod back, so it is unfair just to name HD riders
-
Going by your profile, you are an engineer, should be fairly simple for you to make something, that would allow you to mount the bobbins, without having to weld the swing arms, what about a sleeve with a captive nut, that is clamped to the swing arm,
-
I would sooner drill and tap, than weld it, could end up doing more damage, plus most swing arm's are aluminium, which would make it more difficult, but each to their own
-
Why not just drill and tap the swing arm, should be easier than welding mounts on
-
Might have air locked, take fuel cap off to help with flow, also get a rubber band or similar, and every time you turn off the petcock, wrap the band around your key as a reminder

Hello from the bonny banks of Loch Lomond . It has not been the best of journeys . I took the M1 and then cut across to Huddersfield and Halifax. The temperature was nightmarishly hot but I managed to keep moving . I then headed for Kendall but I just couldn't face the Lake district so I took the M6 to Gretna then the lonely and deserted B7078 . By this time it had gone really cold and there were pockets of fog forming . I joined the M74 but it was shut at junction 8 so I had to go on a massive detour to Hamilton . I'd had enough by now so I pulled into this Caravan and Camping Club site at Luss . It's a lovely site but the very small woman in charge is an utter c**t . I've had to practically beg for her to let me pitch my tent . I've had a proper telling off for not planning my journey properly . She charged me £22.65 to I gave her £ 25 and told her to keep the change . Thoroughly obnoxious little person . Apparently I'd arrived too late and everyone was asleep which is bollocks .
When you leave tell her Andy Murray is a c*^t and poke her in the eye
Aye, that explains it, bad tempered cyclops

This might help, http://a2bikes.co.uk/ and you can choose type of bike
-
Date of ride out now moved to Tuesday afternoon, gonna start advertising for some new admin staff
-
No worries Jack
, the OP's link is the one that's 7 years out of date
-
I use a polaroid cube, it has a magnetic base, and comes with a tripod adapter, which can be used on any type of mount, i have mine on a handlebar mount, only a short battery life, but it will record while charging, mine gets plugged into my usb socket, and being magnetic, i can just lift it off when not needed, it also supports loop recording, i have seen plenty of other makes on ebay, and there are a few i would take a punt on at around the £30-£40 mark, if i needed another

Site has not been updated since June 2012
It also looks like a fan made website, the links are old and Crime Facts are now 10 years old, I would like to know if the rate of stolen bikes are a higher or lower than 2009, without checking I would think higher? right?
The Bennet's link i posted is from Nov last year,
-
Maybe not 90%, but certainly a high percentage, https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/reviews/products/security/motorcycle-crime-the-facts, and if you think there is little or no corruption, have you forgotten about the child abuse scandal, involving the social services
-
All well and good in principle, but 90% of theft is by organised crime, and most of the gangs/syndicates have corrupt officials in their pockets, so they will never get caught, or brought to account, complete and utter waste of time, more money wasted from the taxpayer
-
I don't want to risk either, Xena might start melting
, although the Xena on the tv series, does look really hot when she's wet
-
Hello and welcome
can't help with which bike to recommend, but at a guess, you will need to sit on few, and see which ones feel good, then make up a shortlist of possibles
-
Good job the panniers and frame are removable!! Going to everntually invest in some smaller givi trekker cases. I can see these getting smashed off
I see you have the pontoons fitted, when you planning on the channel crossing
-
-
No R clips or split pins, not going to swap them right away, was just going to get some replacements, ready to swap if/when an opportunity arose
-
Hi all, on my bike the wheel/axle nuts are a crappy green colour, and i want to swap them for some stainless steel dome nuts, there should be no problems doing a straight swap, i won't need to remove the axle, or alter the chain tensioners, will they need to be torqued up, or just tight, thanks
Having domed nuts might prevent you from achieving the correct torque.
no probs, will just get some chrome caps instead
starting again after 25 years!!

Thanks Jack, the first link makes it a lot clearer, but i still can't fathom the provisional entitlement bit, unless it just while doing training, and accompanied by an instructor, which would make sense, and should be stated accordingly![](https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/uploads/emoticons/occasion14.gif.62f31400f3ad12ea626852ec86504962.gif)
