I would say that many drivers, are unable to judge another vehicles speed, when i come onto a motorway, by the time i reach the point where i can enter the nearside lane, i will be at the speed limit, then it's just a case of judging to either increase or decrease my speed depending on where the vehicles are, there have been many times when i have slowed to go behind a vehicle, then straight into the middle lane and floor it, but if the slip road has a long lead in, i would just floor it to get in front, but each situation is different, and all depends on your own driving ability and confidence or lack of, experience is the best teacher

Probably best to avoid motorways

Well I should be in the clear as could be anyones bike and anyones gear, just dont wanna have to take it to court!
And ye very true about forum scanning Mr Bullfrog.
Said in a spitting image accent...."allo allo allo, and were was you on the morning of *** and at the time of ****? and have you got any witnesses that can back this up sir"?
Yes!, i was doing a bank job in the next town

Buy the road, then clamp the buggers

Seems a sensible option, depending on cost, and lifespan of the tyre

got some quotes last night for the major break down company's, they all want around the same price £120 per year, and that is just the basic roadside and recovery, can't really justify that, even for peace of mind, as i don't venture far from home
Just added personal cover to my Green Flag car policy for £22. The car policy was £59. Shop around
I will be going through my insurance, they offer quite a good package for £53 per year

It's nothing to worry about, it is basically an assessment of your your riding ability, the instructor, wants to know that you are able to ride, control a bike in a safe manner, as long as you meet the criteria, there should be no problem, best of luck, and don't worry about it

It's f*** ups like that, that need shooting, and put out of our misery

Just bear in mind, that the new engine will need running in, so you will need to keep your rev's down

I don't think it's about pointing the finger as they say there's no point being DEAD right! Learn from it and become a better rider so you don't get in those situations
Slightly off topic but someone ( an HGV driver and biker ) told me that in the near future you will be photographed by an ANPR camera and fined if you pass under a gantry with a red X on a "Smart" Motorway. So now we have to focus more on what's ahead as well . And they are building miles and miles of it right now. This is going to cause collisions surely .
There's more going on during town driving/riding so this should be a doodle especially with the years of experience you have and already being an observant rider it shouldn't make a blind bit of difference
What the HGV driver/biker chap was concerned about was that other drivers will start veering from lane to lane to avoid a ticket . He thought that if the hard shoulder had been opened to traffic and then the red X,s start appearing up ahead , four lanes could suddenly become three or even two which would result in a lot of braking and lane juggling . At the moment they are advisory I think but once they can impose an instant fine the less observant drivers might start swerving in panic . That was the jist of it anyway.
Probably playing with their phones etc, instead of actually driving
should be banned for life

Following a learner on a scooter with their left indicator on for about 3 miles this morning, he/she was lucky no one pulled out on them
Didn't you try to warn him / her?
Yes i did, flashed at them, made a blinking gesture with my left hand, completely oblivious, i was also in the car, so didn't want to get too close to them

During my check-up I asked the Doctor
"Do you think I'll live a long and healthy life then?"
He replied "I doubt it somehow -- Mercury is in Uranus right now"
I said "I don't go in for any of that astrology nonsense"
He replied
"Neither do I --- My thermometer just broke"

Person in a Nissan Leaf yesterday on the M1 near Rugby, crawling along the inside lane at about 50mph.
What's wrong with that, i often set the cruise control at 56mph when on the m'way

Hello and welcome
as above, a training school is the easiest way

Years ago, i lived in a dead end terraced street, and i always managed to park outside, often when i came home cars were parked outside my door, not for long though, soon shunted them out of the way, i was really peed off one time, i pushed a car to the other side of the road onto double yellow lines, never saw that car again

Wot e said ^^^^^
I get really hot, and most of the year i just wear shorts and t-shirt, even in winter, not on the bike though
if only they made an armoured mankini
When following the highway code is dangerous
