  1. No problem it is yours and not going anywhere. Give me as much warning as possible though. I am normally home from work approx. 5pm and can send you my mobile no. if you want. Happy to help. Cheers Ian
  2. Hi Rich No charge just get me a pint, but if I have to pay for it to be removed you pick up the tab lol Cheers Ian
  3. Hi Rich I am 7 or so miles North of Bedford just off the A6. Hope that helps? Cheers Ian
  4. Absolutely got to agree with what has been said already. Time for a new battery methinks. So much cheaper than a starter motor lol. Cheers Ian
  5. Hi Rich I know I am a long way from you but I have the tyre below. 180/55R17 it`s on a wheel but can be removed easy enough. Yours if we can work out a cheap way of getting it to you? Cheers Ian
  6. Hi I went with the ones below and I find them extremely comfortable and definitely waterproof. Only had them for a few months but early signs are very good. Cheers Ian https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/354681
  7. At least I said what is happening tomorrow! Cheers Ian
  8. Well the plan is to put the race Busa on a trailer early in the morning and take her to Buckingham for a fuel pumpectomy and try to work out how to crack the 200 later in the year! Hoping to get her indoors before the worst hits but not optimistic. Maybe I shouldn't have removed all bodywork and disconnected fuel system to try to save time/money ! Cheers Ian

    125cc

As I think the OP has made a decision I hope he does ok with it. The 2stroke debate is interesting and Rich is correct in his assessment of Mito`s and Aprillia RS models. I know about the RS as I restored one for a chap in the village so his mechanical retard of a son could sell it, a lovely little bike that didn't deserve the abuse it had suffered lol. Therefore I concur with Rich1s comment about youth and maintenance lol. Cheers Ian

    125cc

So to answer your question.....no 2 strokes aren't very reliable for everyday transport as from my experience they enjoy eating engine internals so I'd stick with 4 stroke as they are very reliable, there are so many good 125s that you could get, some information on your budget would be good so we can advise you on some alternatives to those which you have earmarked Hi Rich That's very interesting as back in pre history (early 80`s) I despatched in London on a succession of small 2 strokes and found them extremely reliable providing of course you kept an eye on oil levels. Apart from performance stuff like Apprillia Rs models and the Kawasaki Kr stuff have 2 smokes become worse? I am genuinely interested as I think back in the day the engines may have been les stressed compared to today. Cheers Ian
  11. That looks like guilt to me ! Cheers Ian
  12. I take it these items have blown into your garden and you are shifting them on before the rightful owners turn up? Cheers Ian
  13. Before you go all complex have you got access to a known good battery? I had an annoying intermittent misfire and erratic idle on the ZRX particularly when cold. Spent a lot of time cleaning carbs and checking stuff. Borrowed battery from another bike and all perfect Grrr! New battery now installed and all is good. Cheers Ian
  14. Agreed and also think a Labrador is a bit big for a top box and that much weight that far back could give you some stability issues to say the least. Cheers Ian
  15. Wow didn`t know it was that easy ! Mind you I have saved a fortune on PAT testing over the years lol. Cheers Ian
  16. Wow all that effort to build and presumably sustainable for a while ? Now just empty. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Ian
  17. Is that can or can`t ? It is so hard to criticise these days lol. Cheers Ian
  18. Only thing I'll add really is that the rest brake is good for settling the bike through a turn but hey we all ride differently Fair comment. Even when sidecar racing back in the day the rear caliper and disc were regarded as an opportunity to save weight and the front disc and caliper from a FS1E DX was on the back of our Imp propelled bike lol. Cheers Ian
  19. I can honestly say that for 3 MOT inspections on my ZRX I used to pull in the front brake lever at the same time as my foot hit the pedal lol. Like the late great Joey Dunlop I never use the back brake. Before I get jumped on by loads of people my 2004 ZRX has its original rear pads my 2005 Busa has whatever rear pads were in it when I bought it and I haven`t a clue what is in the rear caliper of the race Busa. I tend to lean to the argument that on a motorcycle all braking should be done while you are pointing in a straight line and braking in bends is dangerous! Cheers Ian
  20. Ooh a scooter ! A motorbike for men who want to feel the wind in their vagina! Cheers Ian Alright I will collect my coat!
  21. Its interesting that crashes survived seem to amuse us and we compare horror stories ! I have a few of my own having been doing this crap for over40 years now. But good kit is so important and idiots that are happy to whip round town in shorts and sandals really make me shudder. I am happy to admit to not being the most speed limit aware person in the world but I have seen and experienced enough to regard these people as twats ! Cheers Ian
  22. I am so jealous ! I have the rising bench and the Abba stand but always lusted after a sky lift. As an aside the paddock stand on castors is a great bit of kit too !
  23. Sorry ! Tiswas!
  24. Do you remember the interview with "Tight fit" on Taswas? They were asked how they got their name and he said "I am fit and they are". Laughed my arse off ! Cheers Ian
  25. Mind you look how many people we are telling how good they are! It's possible that their reputation is considered important to them. Either way I am grateful for the response from them. Cheers Ian
