I live within walking distance of poppies if you need a break? Cheers Ian

Wow I expected a fook off reaction lol. Cheers Ian

Where is this dealer? For a very reasonable fee I could ride your A/T down and the Dyna back. Cheers Ian

Long conversation that will be ! I will revisit this during the next day or two when I have worked out the best way to express the difference between the very new Harleys and the recent ones (i.e 2015 - 2021) then I have to work out how to explain the gulf between the very new and the earlier twin cam models (sort of 2005 to 2012 ish) . I am no expert but I am sure there are books that explain it far better than I ever will. Cheers Ian
-
Sorry but that is one of the very new models and I suspect it`s not the best place to start. Cheers Ian

@Mawsley I just thought when you get the new wee beastie a stage one is easy and worthwhile, so if it hasn't been done ( which I doubt) give me a shout and I can help you out with it. Cheers Ian

I think it was said that conkers work the same. Cheers Ian

Don't worry he is probably used to that! Cheers Ian

Lol happy to help however like the aforementioned purveyor of heartattack fuel and dodgy chips I take no responsibility for your daft interpretations of my stupidity. On the upside I hope you will really enjoy it I know I don`t regret my decision for a second and I find I tend to ride the Dyna more often than anything else for small often two up trips normally involving breakfasts or a qiuet pint. Cheers Ian

I am no HD expert but I went for a 2011 Dyna and then sold it to get a modern Fat Boy with a stage 2, the Fatty was a fantastic motor but I just didn`t bond with it. After a summer with the Fat Boy I found a 2008 Dyna Lowrider with only 1500 miles and so I changed back and haven`t regretted it for a minute. Cheers Ian
-
Thats precisely why I bought mine! Cheers Ian

@Mawsley I am afraid my cooking isn`t going to aid your recovery Lol. Happy to take you out for a pint when you are feeling better, maybe drop you at a pub that does food? Cheers Ian

I am local and have a lovely 1564 Dyna you could meet for inspiration if you think it would help ? On a serious note as I am local if there is anything I can do to help please ask! Cheers Ian

For what little it`s worth my experience was buying a Tiger 1050 and touring France in 2021 then deciding in consultation with my passenger that we would like to try the bigger Tigger with shaft drive we purchased a 2022 1200 Gt Pro new and toured Northern Spain and into France over the Pyrenees (great trip and thoroughly recommend it to others). In March this year the occasional hesitancy to get going from a standing start caught me out with passenger and luggage and like a twat I tried to support the bike while giving my passenger time to hop off. Epic fail ! 7 broken bones in my right foot and the following week Triumph announced updates to the Tiger 1200 in the press and reports said they had addressed stalling issues. I know I have gone on about this before but Triumph`s staggering lack of help for the people that did their road testing with the first iteration of this potentially great bike has left a really sour taste in my mouth and I traded the Tiger for a BMW R1250 GSA which is a fantastic piece of kit and one I feel I can trust. Unfortunately after over 40 years of buying motorcycles I can guarantee after this I will never buy another Triumph or ever recommend anyone else does either. I know there will be loads of people saying that Triumphs are great and they have had no problems, and I respect that ! However I can only speak from personal experience. Sorry for ranting. Cheers Ian

I suppose I am lucky in that I have a selection including adv tourer, retro street bike, flat tracker, and cruiser. My sport tourer (Hayabusa) is still for sale (must get round to advertising that lol. Cheers Ian

Thanks for that. Shame it's Facebook but I am sure someone will reprint it. Cheers Ian

Now I have had a week trundling round Lanzarote on the V-strom almost always 2 up and in great weather I can say with some certainty what a cracking little bike it is. comfortable for both rider and passenger very little noticeable vibration and it seems to be fairly economical. I believe this would make a very good comuter and be quite capable of the occasional longer trip with no problem. Not sure how much luggage could be used before passenger carrying is compromised but I suspect it would be fine. In summary I was impressed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend one if someone was considering it. Cheers Ian
-
Which one of our esteemed forces were you in ? Cheers Ian
-
Hired it ! Well yesterday to be precise! Teguise market Lanzarote this morning and 5 days if bumbling about to come. V.strom 650 seems quite nice so far I will attempt to abuse it a bit and let you know what I think during the next week. A bit hot for a crash helmet this afternoon at 32degrees but will be back out and about in the morning. Hope the weather at home is keeping you all amused . Cheers Ian

@Gerontious Thanks for that backs up what I hoped would be the situation. Relatively simple quick rummage over breakfast then off we go! Cheers Ian

I am in total agreement with your methodology and have done something similar for next year. Ferry is booked to get us to Santander and we will prebook first nights hotel. Reason for post is do you have a recommended provider/app for finding accommodation on your route ? We are sort of thinking of booking or researching over breakfast each day and plan to bimble in the Pico`s and possibly invade Portugal with an overnight in Porto. Cheers Ian

If it`s an engine cover and therefore liable to temperature fluctuations why not speak with someone who does Cerakote. The colour options are surprisingly comprehensive and the finish is really nice. Grabrails in the past I have had them powder coated with good results. Cheers Ian

I have a list of names of people who need battering starting with DVLA,HMRC and others ! Could you give me the address of this place seems a great deal. Cheers Ian

Popped the Busa on the bench for a thorough and invasive clean and check up prior to MOT and then lising for sale. Anyone with sensible offers is welcome to contact me through the site and chat. If I save fees and effort I am sure that will be reflected in the deal. Cheers Ian
