1. I think Stu is going to have squatter issues if we get his address. Also oldgrump seems to have enough projects to keep a few of us busy for ages. Did you clock all those engines under benches just waiting to be assessed then let loose? Cheers Ian
2. Don't worry a bit of study and probably agreeing to his demands for weird and perverse sex for a few months and you can go and mortgage your soul for the fun and freedom. Hey if I crack the 200mph the race Busa will be up for sale lol. Congrats in advance now go for it!! Cheers Ian
3. First things first get yourself a better picture from straight in front and level. This will help you on reassembly. You are going to be removing the whole assembly in 1 and trying not to let it twist and alter the connecting rod length you should lay it on a cloth or card surface and thoroughly clean then lubricate the whole thing paying particular attention to the pivot point as highlighted by Stu earelier then put it back on and try it out. Then if that works we can discuss rust removal from the linkage rod. Cheers Ian
4. Love the wood burning stove. Had one in our old place for 16years absolutely the nicest heat. Cheers Ian
5. You do like a tool chest don't you lol. I`ll hazard a guess you are a Makita man as well. Cheers Ian
6. Interesting Stu I hope he posts the picture now so we can see. Cheers Ian
7. Is it possible there is a spring somewhere that normally does this return of the lever movement when you change? If so I would hope for an easy replacement situated on the shaft under the gearbox cover. Cheers Ian
8. Hmm wonder who she voted for? Cheers Ian
9. I was just pleasantly pleased to see they are still available and maybe one day I will get to use my one again. However I suspect a lottery win will be required for me to go back to bevel drive Ducati`s lol. Cheers Ian
10. What a great project. looking good so far husoi keep us posted of progress. Cheers Ian
11. I'm making 2 4ft work benches on wheels so I can move them about for space as required and a shelf across the rear of garage to hold temp things namely front and rear screens on a car that's hopefully moving in soon, not looking forward to that job. This is mine P1020157.JPG P1020205.JPG and all my big tools are on wheels P1020160.JPG P1020196.JPG and are all made to the same height so that any one can be used to support materials for the other, and all have height adjustable castors for easy levelling That's a very elaborate cat bed though! Cheers Ian
12. Or are working harder through this and don't have time to tidy garage/ shed. One lockdown is over anyone want to do a good deed for key worker In my defense I have been working throughout this situation and the garage clean up (and the new pond and the bathroom floor) only go to show how much of my free time is spent in pubs or enjoying myself lol Cheers Ian
13. Wow you have been cleaning up during lockdown ! Hee Hee Cheers Ian
14. fastbob Makes a fair point about the orientation of the seals ! I now always remove and lay out on a piece of card as the way round does matter. Right I have an appointment with my favourite Belgian lady (Stella). Cheers Ian
15. Beautiful shed ! Just needs a beer pump ! Not sure I would refer to the lady on the calendar as "Monster" lol. Bet he loved it in there. Cheers Ian
16. So do I !!!!! Perfect pub alternative in these times. Cheers Ian
17. Do you think he has to wash his parts? Oh I see possibly an age thing ! Cheers Ian
18. OH WOW A BEER PUMP !!!!!!!!!! A proper professional garage. Do you need a lodger ? Stu thanks for removing the gentle trolling I was getting lol. I can do some proper pics after I get the cables wound up if you want lol? Cheers Ian
19. That mat is crooked as well ! Cheers Ian
20. Tidying up? It looks as if the place has been ransacked! You should have seen it before lol. Please also bear in mind the race bike will be coming home soon so it will be back to one on the bench and the other two on the floor. Great till someone wants something looking at lol. Given it is a single width garage and there are a lot of spares tucked away I don't think I am doing that bad ! Yeah now turn your camera 180 degrees lol. I note no tools bikes benches wheels etc ! Cheers Ian
21. I am feeling a little pleased with myself as by tidying up I even made just enough space to turn the Busa on it's stand so I dont have to reverse it out. Just need postman Pat to deliver my brake lines now! Cheers Ian
22. A very good and clearly explained method! Should help a lot of people that. Cheers Ian
23. Stubborn banjo bolts are a pig. If you are changing seals anyway it might be a gentle oven treatment if swimbo is looking the other way. Another dodge an old engineer guy told me was while holding the bolt under tension with a ring spanner, GENTLY !!!!! keep tapping with a pin hammer and with a fair bit of time and patience you will be amazed how stubborn immovable bolts or studs sometimes just give up and surrender. Good luck. Cheers Ian
24. OOH ! Clean drawer liners ! Get you ! Cheers Ian
25. Hi Mate If you don't have the piston removal plies you could try pumping them out and pushing them back a few times and they do seem to free up considerably. Cheers Ian
