  1. Damn this thing! This is the 4th time i've tried to reply... Anyway, if you've still not got it apart, then put it all back together and on the bike. You may refuse at 1st, but if you can get a spanner/ratchet behind the swinger and onto the nut, then you can apply a hell of a lot more pressure than you can currently. Get a friend/family member to hold the rear brake on (hard) while you push downwards with your tool. This way it'll take less effort and your not fighting yourself with trying to hold the sprocket carrier and undo it at the same time. Oh and always push downwards, unless you have lightening fast reactions because there is less chance of your spanner/ratchet comming off the nut and hitting the paintwork. Also means your not lifting the bike. Good Luck.

  5. You don't need to even turn the ignition on, and a phone battery only holds a few hundred mah, so as long as you don't leave it on over night it'll be fine. And what's wrong with push starting your bike? Get yer back into it. I fitted one to my Gilera, and it works a treat. Think i'll be making up another for the bandit soon.

  7. Bought a Beowulf can, and it's now lying on my garage floor, bike in bits, as father won't get his fat ar*e up here to help. Honestly, what happened to 'father to son' time. Getting really wound up as i've spent the last 2 hours up here, and he turned up to ask when i'm making tea, told me that i'm taking too long then walked off... doesn't exactly help that i've never done this before, or the fact i've been instructed that i've got to use the old gasket. He's currently having his 'cool down time' with the TV. F*** this!
  8. Catcr*p and equivalents work beautifully. personaly I use bob health visor spray. It lasts for about a week at a time before it starts to let mist get in. But I rode though the winter with it, applying it once a week (normally the monday morning before college run). It didn't let me down once, and better still it cost me £6 at a dealers, and that was last april! I'd say I still have at least half a can left. Tis excellent stuff. Reason I didn't go for a pinlock was that I didn't want a 'bubble' effect on my visor. I wanted to be able to see clearly out of the whole visor whereas the pinlocks cut off the edge if it gets foggy/misty. Reducing visibility. As for add'ons I'd go for a cig socket, and build one yourself! Mine cost £0 and works a treat. Very handy.
  9. Ben have a look at this: 125ccbikeclub.awardspace.co.uk/tyres.htm Look under the heading: 'Tyre Makes and Models' The 8th line confirms the above replies. And there are some tyre reviews on it Hope the link doesn't break forum rules. Bullet5.
  10. Excellent And i'm pretty sure you'll be kept sober with this lot asking you every question under the moon. Surely that's more likely to make him want a drink? It shall indeed, but for him to answer your torrent of questions, he'll need his hands and mouth free, to demonstrate. Mega, you've dropped yourself into a pit here matey.

  12. Which day/s would you run this on? (or is this too far in advance to know?) I'd be intrested in the valves and carb's if you'd spare a few mins. (Even though I can't stay, I still plan on popping down to see y'all ) Thanks.
  13. Nope. It's all to stop the companies being sued. They're scared that if you go over a hard pothole, with this rack/topbox in use, then it gives. Most racks and topbox's are strong enough to hold 70KG+ easily. For example, the rack on the bandit has a 'rating' of about 8kg. However I use it (when the topbox is off) to lift the back of the bike up and to manouver it around in tight spaces. If it looks strong enough and you trust it, then you can exceed the 'limit' and you'll be fine. Otherwise, you couldn't even carry a decent chain on almost all racks. Topbox's are rated higher because they're only stopping the internals falling backwards, so a small force is applied to them, as the weight is transfered verticaly to the rack. If anything is to go normaly the rack is the 1st. Anyway, you'll know all that, so in reply to your original question. No, or not that i've heard of, as they aren't required in most cases.
  14. Would this be the Dry or Wet lube? And do you happen to know if 400ml is the largest can they do? Thanks, Bullet5.
  15. It doesn't get rid of rust 100% you never can, but it will reduce it dramaticaly and it will bring shine back into chrome if you use a lot of elbow grease and a few other tricks of the trade. I've never used car/bike shampoo as such. I've always stuck to using MuckOff, some Dry Wax, AFC and a lot of old rags.
  16. Yer, that may be giving you a slight advantage there ruthie However keep at it, make sure you keep an eye on their lid as they're comming towards you and when you can clearly see they're lid (about 20 or so meters) nod. I'm on a 50, with the dreaded L's, but find I only get the odd none-nodder. As for the trip, it looked pretty ace... but you need some pic's
  17. What were the production team thinking when they came up with that rear light?! "nonono, we add another foot. It make bike go faster"
  18. Not so important if you're lucky enough to have an SSD drive Bingo, and in fairness it takes a lot of magnetic power to even begin wiping/errasing a harddrive. I've had one stuck to a magnet for over week in the past (and this was one of those door magnets they use in buildings, to hold them shut) didn't harm it one bit. (yes it was just a test) t'was an old 40gb one, but my point is no data was lost, so unless your very unlucky, then you'll be fine with a magnetic tank bag if you don't get a strapped one.
  19. Thankyou Kersh, but aren't you due a nappy change? Correct Decor, and i'm planning on living here for as long as possible, as I don't see uni a option, (not just because of fees) so i'll be looking for a job, but to maximise my income i'll stay put, so I don't have as bigger living expenses. However this means I sadly can't follow through with your plan kersh... 'Tell them to p*ssoff...' I'll see about comming down for a day... (if you lot will allow that) Could even rope in a friend to sit pillion so the father doesn't have to come, and this way, mother would feel better about me having company.
  20. Thankyou sparkeh It'll be a bit of a long ride on the gilera, but she should be able to manage it if it comes to the worst.
  21. Wouldn't work as i'm not let out the house unless she's run ahead to make sure i'm going where i've said i'm going. Not to mention the fact that she reguraly visits my friends parents Ant's still going for the day and i'm pretty sure a few others who were offended are attending. I may take you up on the ride down there sparky. Assuming i've got my full license. Thankyou!
