  1. Are you using the choke, is the choke working properly? I have the same problem with mine if it sits for 3-4 weeks. Just persevere with it. The carbs have probably just emptied themselves and its taking a while to get going. Mine tends to be worse if I've left it on the side stand rather than the centre stand. Replacing the plugs may help (I have no idea how long mine have been in there) but if the battery is turning over and not labouring then it sounds fine. When it does start running try not to use too much throttle straight away. Let it run on its own on the choke. It may sound a bit rough but it will sort itself out eventually. ps Woo Hoo for someone else on here with a GSX!!
  2. It's not the tights that you need to worry about. The g-string, suspenders and garter belt might take a bit of explaining though..

  4. I have the Oxford First Time soft panniers. The are easy to fit and roomy etc, and are good for the occasional weekend use. However, I wouldn't want to use them every day. They aren't difficult to fit, just a right faff! You will have to have a play around to find the best way to fix them to your bike (I can fit mine in around 5 mins now ) but not something i'd want to be doing in the wind and rain. If you're going to be using them all the time then i'd probably go with a 46l ish top box. Ride magazine did a decent review of soft panniers a while ago.. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/Ri ... 20test.pdf
  5. Hi Kyle, don't forget to say hi in the newbies section Any bike is a good one to work on, but if you plan on doing your CBT when you are 16 you will only be ably to ride a machine with a maximum 49cc. Get a bike, some tools and a haynes manual and tinker away!
  6. It's possibly over fuelling or misfiring. More info needed.. When does it do it? Hot/cold/from idle/high revs? What bike is it? Carb/injection??
  7. I'm with Stu. Cold and damp weather, and lack of use has probably partially siezed the caliper. If it was biding before the change in weather it's more than likely got worse.
  8. Don't know who sings it and i'm not entirely sure its the song title, but.. Do Wah Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Do..
  9. Any decent training school will book the test area for people to spend an hour or so practicing, well, mine did..

    YBR bulb

if you had smoke coming from the headlamp unit it's possible that the wiring and/or reflector is damaged too, you may have soot on the inside of the lense aswell.. i'd replace the whole lamp unit with a decent bulb. and if its still really bad, ride around with main beam on and not just dipped
  11. Nice one guys!
  12. what do you mean, its loose? can you describe where it is loose, is there any knocking/movement when the bike is stationary?
  13. Time Machine - Black Sabbath
  14. The cylindrical part with the sticker on is the shock absorber, with the spring around the outside. I can't view the video at work but I imagine the sound you can hear is the shock compressing and releasing, as it should do. If the noise is excessive then the shock is probably on it's way out.
  15. Of course it does, that way they can charge you £25 admin fee each time you ring up.. Me thinks they haven't thought about this very well..
  16. I think i'm ok.. Non standard screen Aftermarket exhaust Rear hugger.. Ooh hang on.. Front mudguard and grab rail are not the original colour, I have heated grips but they don't work (does that count??) and an optimate lead. Damn! Does that mean that even if I declare them and then go touring with the rear rack, throw-over panniers, tail pack and a magnetic tank bag I'm not insured?? I think I'll give them a ring... Naah f**k it, I'll stick with paying £37 a year to Swinton thank you very much
  17. Johnny be Goode - Chuck Berry (and Marty McFly in Back to the Future )
  18. Maybe you should change your username to iShouldSlowDownAndGetUpEarlier..
  19. I have driven a car with a HUD which simply displayed the speed and I found it extremely distracting. My eyes were constantly drawn to it and I more often than not ended up looking at pretty green numbers rather than the road ahead! Being on a motorbike you have much more to be thinking about and looking for than you do in a car and having information on the visor 2 inches from my eyes would simply get in the way all the time.
  20. Been caught twice in 16 years of driving. 1st one was 70 on a single carriageway in a van, I was young and I didn't know the limit was 50 2nd time was 96 on a dual carriageway luckily got away with 60 quid and 3 points licence is clean now though
  21. Misapprehension maybe I should have goggled it before posting that... lol j/k
  22. 1, outside my Dad's house, got a wobble on at a junction and couldn't get my foot down quick enough without it slipping off the kerb. 2, in the middle of town parking up. I jammed the front brake on as i was turning slowly. 3, at Cadwell Park, parking on the grass hill, bike started leaning down the hill, put my foot down but it was leaning too much and I couldn't hold it. This was the worst one as it broke the clutch lever and I had to get recovered home. 4, in a pub cark park late at night, pitch black. Pushed the bike back (it was on gravel and I couldn't sit on the bike and walk it back due to me being a short arse and my feet slipping on the stones ) engine was running (big mistake!) tried to put the side stand down to get on the bike but I hit the gear lever!! Bike went off without me straight towards a car and fence grabbed hold of it and pulled it to the ground.
  23. How is it possible that someone who can spell misaprehension finds it difficult to spell guys, humour, really, myself and getting??
