  1. The mrs and I both want to move up in bike size, main reason actually to cruise at a lower rpm and a little more oomph as the 600 and 650 are quick anyway but we always look for another gear. and no dont want to mess with sprockets. Initially we both thought about the FZ1S Yamaha, which I still love the look of. But when we saw them my mrs thinks its too large in size. (first time she ever said that) but a GSX1000F was sat near it and she loved it Must admit I love the look of the GXS100F but it doesnt look like a big tail bag would fit on (which I own) So, the long winded question is has anyone had or got the Suzuki and have done long tours.?? I saw the 1000z kwak but front looks really low.
  2. I guess we are doing it to say weve done it, but were doing the crap bit in a day or so and taking longer to do the nice bits. I dare say if we ever go again it would be a version you take and just enjoy other bits. We go in a few days.
  3. Id defo just go for it and get a full license. you will be so much happier and can find a bike you will be comfy on. if you think about riders with pillion and both around 12-16 stone then bikes can handle it. but one with better suspension etc will be so much better and these are bigger bikes. good luck
  4. Ive a 40l Oxford which works well. depends how much stuff you want to take. only really need clothes for the evenings, and basic stuff under leathers. The mrs has the oxford 30l and that holds alot too, they both expand from the photos you see.
  5. Ive made a note of that place as we stay near it cheers. Yeah saw loads of videos of people doing it in a few days, and I guess if i went alone id probably so same. But we want to take photos, video, drone etc and enjoy it all.
  6. cheers, were booked into airbnb and bookin.com places as its our honeymoon, goin anticlockwise. Il add a photo of our stays. fuel stops will be most important as Ive no idea whats about. Weve broken it down into small bites so we can enjoy the place not just ride around it.
  7. thats great cheers Bob
  8. yeah thats the stuff I mentioned, but the panel has the original decal for the bikes design, id hate to take that off but it has been on from new and seems solid. again care needed if I do. last night we were looking how much clothing do we really need and is 2 tail bags enough. ones 30l ones 40l. be good to not even need panniers. my tank bag is huge for all essentials/puncture kits etc.
  9. did it clean off ok? I do have some mat stuff that was meant for rug slip, just slightly bigger holes.
  10. cheers will give it a look, :) and this stuff didnt rub with dust etc?
  11. Count down has begun for us, its about 4 weeks. Now panicking at how much stuff we will have and il bet its a ball ache taking the luggage off the bikes every night. Do many of you feel safe leaving anything on the bikes? nothing of value of course but lets say a small tank bag etc/
  12. Hi all, ive been setting up my mrs fazer to take some oxford soft panniers, these are pretty well made with a soft part that touches the bike. Now, I know soft rubber mats are good for this, but i cant help think they will also cause damage if dust gets under them. and i was looking at the clear film but on the fazer its paint but also a big decal thats part of the design, i wonder if the clear film will take that with it in removal. anyone use soft panniers who can advise please
  13. I like how I can have it just above the clocks. We had to use my phone at the weekend for an observed bikesafe ride and i noticed how much I had to look down at the bars where it was mounted. Really not safe at all. So this should be good. I dont mind the basic nature and if it guides me a little and read the actual signs too it should be great, thanks
  14. Ive just ordered one, got a good deal with some good mounts to have it right near the clocks. The more i saw and the feedback here i think it will suit me... if not il sell it Hope it gets us to Scotland haha
  15. cheers, thought it was a satnav of some sort.
  16. ah right, the thread inside is ok, but the nut is rounded..
  17. what is an OP9? cant find anything on google/
  18. If its tight and no leak why tackle it? or are you getting a plug ready for the next change? It its tight surely its ok. sorry if ive got it wrong
  19. Im looking to get a satnav for the bike to avoid using my phone. Ive seen the beeline is a good price, not to keen on the simple view but the more i watch it kinda makes sense. Whats it like in practice? cheers
  20. another MOT pass no advisories and oil and filter change. Might be last one if we do buy new bikes in June/July. although I expect prices are higher peak time
  21. I use it on painted parts, but thats just more of a polish. there is a proper product which does ceramic coat, had it on my old car and it was great. curious if it would help metal too. also very costly compared to acf50 etc I use this on the paint. not sure if its better than normal polish or wax. https://diamondbrite.co.uk/product/diamondbrite-ceramic-detailing-glaze/
