  1. Which Travelodge was it? .. So we know to avoid it! Had cars stolen so I feel your pain.
  2. It was a room with 7 booths, when you had finished just let the guy know and out you go.
  3. A pass is a pass, as long as you're now all over the intricacies of rule 191 A pass is a pass! .. It matters diddly squat what the score is as long as its a pass!
  4. Yep!.. Four teenagers taking the test when I did mine! .. A guy in his 30's came in just when I left.
  5. I went for my theory test today, Arrived at the centre half an hour early just to make sure of a parking space and was expecting to have to wait. They said I could take it straight away if I was ready so not wanting to hang around I went right in. The questions were pretty standard and no problem. I did get one wrong but I expect that was from rushing a little. I was a little nervous about the hazard perception but that went pretty well too. I used the "three click" system and it worked 'cos I scored 61. I'll look at doing the DAS in the next month or so if I can get one. Failing that I'll look at doing one next spring. Time for a beer!
  6. At first I thought I had ordered the wrong thing but having checked my bank account I have paid for the stand!
  7. Feeling a bit miffed this morning! I ordered this ... https://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/buy/bike-tek-rear-paddock-stand-swing-arm/39673.htm ... and they delivered this .. https://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/buy/bike-it-paddock-stand-bobbin-adaptors-silver/46636.htm
  8. Brake pads fitted this morning, taken for MoT this afternoon .. Passed!
  9. This might explain it for you. ...
  10. I would always wear one law or not! .. I had a small stone get thrown up and hit my helmet when I was doing around 60mph, if I had no helmet on then I'm sure it would have been nasty! .. I always keep my visor down for the same reason!
  11. Cleaned, lubed and adjusted the chain. Changed the fork oil. .. Just need to replace brake pads then its of for an MoT.
  12. I think they do a similar restriction in Denmark or Sweden, where 14 year old can drive cars but are limited on engine size and max speed of 30 mph Well it makes sense, it makes no sense to allow a 17 year old kid to ride a 125cc bike but could in theory go straight out after passing test and buy a 600bhp 5L v8 car so if a new driver was restricted by the same allowance that a 17 year old rider is I think insurance would probably come down a hell of alot In New Zealand my son passed his car licence at age 15(15 minutes drive around the block) then went and bought himself a Mitsubishi Galant VR4, 2498 cc DOHC 24v V6, twin-turbo. ... There is no requirement for insurance in New Zealand. Perhaps the OP should move to NZ then he could ride a Learner Approved Motorcycle?... https://www.nzta.govt.nz/driver-licences/getting-a-licence/licences-by-vehicle-type/motorcycles/lams/lams-approved-and-prohibited-motorcycles/
  13. Its not going to happen! .. Governments hate motorcycles and restrictions for younger riders get worse every few years.
  14. Here's one for £34.99 Free delivery. .... https://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/buy/bike-tek-rear-paddock-stand-swing-arm/39673.htm
  15. Well, there were 3 video's .. and almost NO traffic in those days!
  16. I wonder? https://silodrome.com/british-ww2-motorcycle-training-film/
  17. I couldn't get my cg125 to run right after standing in my daughters garage for 8 yrs so I switched the carburetor for a £12 cheapo off ebay! .. It now runs like a dream!
  18. Have you never tried to overtake a car only to have the twat speed up just to keep you hanging out there too long? Which is why you have a planned overtake even before you commit... Why should i not overtake ( never why should i overtake ) Where am i going to finish What if i can't finish In your scenario other vehicle speeds up you have two choices ... You can speedup too and accelerate into further danger Or you can abort and safely tuck back in ( which should be part of your plan anyway) and replan with the knowledge that they may repeat their actions . I'm not going to argue with you but in the situation I was in the driver of the car had the intention of keeping me out! Slow down? So does he. Speed up so does he!

  20. Riding home from just passing my test in NZ I rounded a bend to be confronted by an angry bull in the middle of the road! .. That practiced U-turn came in quite handy!
  21. Bikes today are probably more reliable than they've ever been, but they still need general maintenance and a little TLC. I think part of the problem is that youngsters(and some not so young) today expect thing to run perfectly all the time. Do they check the oil regularly? Do they check out that strange noise? Or wait hoping it goes away! When I was young you bought a dirt cheap motor for 30/40 quid and fixed it .. I'm not sure kids do that today, more interested in the playstation.
  22. Your pass certificate number lasts for 2 years. You need to pass both modules of the motorcycle test in that time, otherwise you’ll have to pass the theory test again. https://www.gov.uk/motorcycle-theory-test/pass-mark-and-result
  23. I would suggest you get your CBT done asap and then buy a second hand CG 125 or YBR 125 and get confident in riding in traffic. As long as you don't prang it you would not lose money on either of those when you sell it! Also get your theory done, then you could do DAS in the spring with some confidence!
  24. It may help someone but unless I have a surprise windfall I'm afraid I'm out! Good luck with the sale! P.S. Why not offer it on a BMW forum? .. http://www.bmbikes.org.uk/Forum
  25. I left in 1970! .. We chucked our school blazers in a pile in the playground and set fire to the lot!
