  9. you throw your car out onto the flat roof !!!
  10. if its not leaking and you dont need to work on it then leave it alone untill such times as you do need to remove exhaust if you disturb it now it will start blowing so let it be untill you need to drill it out
  11. learn to check chain tension at least once a week or more if you are doing lots of miles and every time you lube it check tension
  12. first thing i would do is spray some wd40 or carb cleaner round the carb intakes to make sure they are not drawing air in due to being perished then go with checking chain condition and its also worth checking the cush drive rubbers in the rear wheel by checking how much free movement the wheel has before the sprocket carrier starts to turn you will need the bike up on a paddock stand to check it properly
  13. positive signs of a well maintained bike ...... you need to check chain tension and lube it weekly or even more often if used in lots of bad weather
  14. if they are the original forks then they wont be adjustable best way to improve them would be to put progressive springs and heavier oil in them hagon used to do springs for the xs650 dont know if they still do
  15. looking like it could possibly be head gasket leaking slightly or an o ring on a water pipe up high around the top end of the engine pop the tank off and have a look round see if you can see any better once tank off

  22. if it has no special parts on the thread then a bolt of the same size should do fine make sure thread is the same length of the one you removed
  23. carb will need pulling apart and cleaning right up and then try again also make sure air filter isnt blocked with spiders webs and leaves from where it sat doing nothing
  24. if at the battery you are only getting 12 volts still with engine running at about 3000rpm then the regulator has failed or the wires inside the plug have burned out which is fairly common
  25. check the drain holes before removing plugs otherwise crap can wash down into bore of the engine if there is anything down there
