  1. if you look down at the right hand side of the cam cover is there a small clear window in the top and as you turn engine over a marker appears in the window,if not just watch as you kick the bike over slowly the decompression cable should only move at the cylinder head as the bike is coming up on compression stroke as all it does is open the exhaust valve slightly making it easier to kick engine over
  2. and the shops responce was ????
  3. not sure if bandit ones are the same or not but i do know you will have trouble undoing the bolts in the head that clamp the pipes on,if you can get to them it will be worth giving t hem a clean up if you can and spray some penetrating oil on them a few times allowing it to soak in will give you a better chance of them coming undone instead of shearing off which is a common problem
  4. very possibly the cdi unit or the pick up on the crankshaft both cheap enough to replace

well make sure you file an official complaint with vosa about the garage because if they have had other complaints they will do lightning check on them and watch them mot all day long or send a set up bike in
  10. i agree with stu sounds like gearbox if it still under warranty then get it sorted by garage otherwise its a case of doing it on ur own but they are not to hard to work on might even be worth buying complete good engine but check warranty first
  11. i would change the cable first and see if that cures the problem as it could be frayed inside and catching and therefor not releasing fully, then if that doesnt work look at clutch itself
  12. it will be a case of looking about and seeing what other bikes have got rear end you like and then buying and modifing to fit your bike or looking through m&p or bike it cataloges and seeing if they do anything
  13. easy way to check carb rubbers is with engine ticking over spray some wd40 or carb cleaner around the inlet rubbers if the revs increase a fair amount chances are you will need to replace them, visual check is just have close up look for cracking or/and splitting of the rubber inlets
  14. should look like this pushed into the back of the lever next to where the clutch cable goes in http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-Dayto ... 1818wt_958
