  1. no it wont be that tight you just need to loosen the bolts holding it in place and then it will slide off you might need to loosen the main bar as well so you can move the bar to the left to clear the throttle tube then slide the new bar into it before placing back on top of the fork
  2. i put a motobatt on the harley turns over a lot faster than the orginal harley one did just looks a bit odd with big yellow box on the side of the bike behind the plate lol
  3. did you have a lot of rain inbetween her filling up and you finding out the cap wasnt shut it might of got water in the fuel
  4. the lauqer will not make it go shiney unless u highly polish it as its designed to protect the paint underneath it and normally its that paint thats polished up then the laquer applied but do a small test area that cant be seen just in case
  5. never seen or heard of it being done but anything is possible chances are you will need most of the cg electrics and cab and such likeand be able to make up new brackets and weld bits in and cut bits out
  6. i would be looking at starter motor drawing to much power and starving the cdi stopping it sparking and bumping it give all the power back to the electrics
  7. at least you now know the motor is sound and its worth doing properly well done mate
  8. sounds like it could be over fueling next time its cold tr it without choke and just a touch of throttle see if that makes any difference
  9. easy way to check for air leaks around the carb is spray some wd40 aorund the inlet manifold while the engine is running the revs will go up pretty quick then if it is drawing air in and leaking,i would also check condition of air filter and clean/replace as required with it
  10. you will need to remove all flaky paint and all paint that has lifted and bubbled there aer companies out there that can seal up all the holes and then blast the engine that makes them look really nice then it is ready to paint

  16. ive never used one bob i normally use piece of wood under the downpipes and jack it up a bit t so it leans on the side stand with front wheel off the ground................and before others jump in normally standard downpipes are thick enough to handle this and in all the years ive been doing it i havent damaged the pipes

  18. if you havent got a c spanner to adjust it you can se big pair pf pipe grips to do it but give ingah on here a pm he is the cb 500 life time sufferer of one
  19. if its smoking out of the exhaust is it blue or white smoke as most bikes/cars white smoke when cold blue smoke means oil is getting into the cylinder and being burnt with the petrol/air mix meaning the piston rings might of failed or the valve seals have failed in the cylinder head

  21. you will need to measure the intake diameter side of your carbs ,but personaly if it is running fine on std airbox i wouldnt mess with it as once you fit the k&n's you will need to start rejetting the carbs to compensate the fuel air ratio difference

  23. it seems a replacement venue might of already been found for this at Leicester Speedway Beaumont Leys on tuesday evenings and they are hoping it will become regular event
  24. kill switch if it has one is on right hand handlebar engine stop normally big red button make sure thats in the run position,also try pulling the clutch lever in and see what happens.as tango says there is safety switches all over the place when you turn the key on is the green neutral light showing,if not it wont start unless u pull the clutch in and possibly put side stand up like u r ready to ride away
