  1. I trusted the weather forecast and took the bike to work this morning, it said I’d have rain in my local area (I live on top of a hill) but be dry once I dropped down towards Newcastle, not a chance! Rain all the way haha
  2. Have you tried ringing Adrian flux?
  3. At our place we have one unit in a really distinctive livery and the drivers have learned that it’s got a history of being cold so always knock it out. we got around this initially by replacing the repair book but now they know it’s “that” train by the livery and knock it straight away
  4. I think stu is on the money there, I’ve wanted a bike for ages but waited till I was 24 so I could do the DAS, even then I’ve only managed to do it because my circumstances changed and I had spare time and money.
  5. If stud extractors work you’re a lucky guy! pretty much every horrible rusty stud I’ve came across had required lots of heat and the big mole grips or the welder
  6. I get mine of either wemoto or from a dealer here in Newcastle, purely because a friend works there. wemoto seem good with the bits I’ve ordered so far though
  7. Read the full article and it says they’ll continue to cover the bikes against theft and accidental damage, so basically whilst it’s parked up once yiu can’t ride anymore e
  8. We can, there’s manual handle like the old hand drills but it takes about 15 minutes to get a big enough gap to roll under, getting it high enough to get a bike out, lower it and then repeat once I got home would’ve taken longer than I was going to be out for the power went off once when I had a land rover I was selling inside and some people came to view it, we started winding at 9 and couldn’t get it out till about 1030!
  9. Glad you both like it! I think they’re very underrated for what they are and are more than enough for everyday use. jamie
  10. I had every intention of cleaning and adjusting the chain then going for a ride to look at some areas I’d seen houses for sale in before arranging viewings but we’ve got builders installing new drainage who decided to cut the electric wire to the garage door
  11. It wouldn’t help the main issue is I’ve got a long back and short legs, I’m 6’ 3” with a 31” inside leg plus I have very well built calf’s and thighs so trousers are always tight around my legs, downside of rugby and hill walking!
  12. Cheers, do you have a rough idea on costs?
  13. I tried the leathers sitting on the bike today and it’s a no go, they where the biggest sizes produced by rst so I think it’s going to have to be custom made in a couple of years time
  14. I look like daffyd Thomas
  15. Hi all, just bought some new rst gt leathers, I know leathers are meant to be fairly tight but is there any guide on how tight? they feel okay but they look ridiculous! Granted... I am carrying about 3 stone more than normal thanks to not playing rugby since March last year haha
  16. I’m seriously planning a trip to lake Garda this year (covid permitting) purely because it’s been on the list and my best friend is going on holiday there so I’ll pop down for a beer haha ferry to France, through the black Forrest to Switzerland, furka pass over to Italy and on to lake Garda, stay 1-2 nights, hit the stelvio pass and then head home. if anyone would like to accompany me I’d be extremely grateful of the company! jamie
  17. Hi all, I’m after some leathers, ideally 2 piece but not too fussy. I’m trying to avoid brand new as I’m on a budget but can’t find anything used to fit at the moment! I’m 6’ 3” with a 42” waist and a 50-52” chest if anyone can help out? thanks
  18. I haven’t stripped it yet so no measurements. I did adjust the clutch before Christmas at the engine end but haven’t had a chance to test it yet. however I’m planning a couple of big trips this year if covid allows it so I would like to know that everything is good before I go.

    Lake Garda

In the summer I’m planning on riding to lake Garda to meet a friend who’s on holiday there. im planning on staying overnight on the south coast to start early from northern France in the morning. I want to stay over night in Baden Baden before taking the b500 through the black Forrest then through the Swiss alps heading on towards lake como for an overnight stop before going from como to Garda. how far would people say is practical to ride in one day? would barden barden be reachable from Calais? Around 420 miles on the motorways. thanks
  20. Hi all, im looking to replace the clutch in my bike, has anyone tried the gecko clutches? they’re about £20 cheaper than an ebc friction plate kit. I’ll also replace the springs at the same time. I’m torn between replacing or reusing the steel plates though. if they’re Warped obviously I’ll change them but if they’re okay I’m not sure on what to do, a full ebc kit with steel plates is £140ish and on an apprentice wage that extra £70-90 makes a difference
  21. Fitted a Scottoiler and adjusted the clutch cable, now I need to decide if it’s new chain and sprocket time or if I’m just bored and want to fiddle....
  22. Hi all, Ive got a ‘99 gsx600f but it’s a bit of a bitsa bike as it’s got the engine from an ‘88-‘97 gsxf in it. I’m looking for new sprockets and chain to get ready for the spring but the chains listed that would match the bike are different from what would match the engine. should I buy parts to match the engine or the bike? cheers Jamie
  23. Small world! I was doing the intermediate couplers on the same unit haha!
  24. Oh god it’s your lot who where making all the racket today at Heaton then!
  25. I’ve got the ‘99 model. After learning on an mt07 I wasn’t that keen on the 600 to start with as it always felt like I was thrashing it to stay in the power band but now I’m getting used to it o love it. as a first bike I think it’s ideal as it’s quick enough and handles well enough to be fun, I can fit a full soft luggage set for touring and at 6” 3’ and 22 stone I still feel comfortable after a couple of hours. also they’re cheap enough that if you do drop it it’s not the end of the world, parts are fairly cheap and it’s simple to work on. mines had a couple of issues but it was sitting For 2 years before I bought it and it only cost £750.
