  1. its just on my little scoot and has a dual piston AJP caliper... i havent checked to see if the blled nipple is blocked to be honest but will do that tomorrow if the weather is ok... come to think of it when i slackened off the nipple and tried bleeding it the fluid was cioming out of the threads not the hole in the nipple...
  2. its dual piston i think... hhmmm u got me thinkin now and i wonder if the o ring fell out and i simply didnt notice it... i will have to have a look and see if its lying around and if not then gonna have to find an o ring to fit ggrrrr
  3. funnily enough when i split the caliper there were no seals at all... however the caliper worked perfectly before i split it... the tube and syringe idea sounds good of i can find a piece of tubing to fit the caliper and a syringe thanks for the tip mate
  4. already fooked mate 2 bikes and non of em roadworthy lol... i will give it a go and see what happens... if its no better then i may have to strip the caliper again and see if i can find out why it doesnt want to play
  5. I went to change the pads and as they wouldnt pull out i had to remove and split the caliper..after much faffing about with the pads to make em fit and re-assembling the caliper i cant get the brakes to bleed... tried alsorts and still no lever pressure... its as if iots blocked somewhere or drawing in loads of air yet theres no fluid leaks at all.... any ideas lads
  6. i looked at that Fred but its 2nd hand... i am not sure what size the sping is supposed to be as the one that came with it is far too long so must be off a different bike
  7. Hi i wonder if anyone can help me. I am changing my sidestand and fitting a centre stand on the bike.. the side stand spring is knackered and so is the fixing bolt so i need new ones of these but have no idea where i can get them from also the mainstand came with no spring so i need one of these also... Anyone know where i could get them from?... i imagine the sidestand one is a fairly generic spring but i cant find any firm that does them
  8. well done matey.... one more step to go
  9. the good thing is you know you can do when practising... i was told my instructor you can go quite wide through the cones just not stupid wide... you can do it and will next time...
  10. Hi Guys, dunno if any fo you can help but i am tryin to find an expansion chamber for the above mentioned bike and had no luck so far.. If anyone has one lying around they wanna sell let me know but if not do any of you know of one that will fit off another bike?. thanks in advance
  11. doesnt have a sidestand switch mate and glad to as the stand is as sloppy as a whores hooch i have checked all i can and was ok when i was last out on it... basically stripped all plastics off it and bathed the electrics in WD40 did notice the coil was sparking against the frame on occasion and it wasnt a blue spark either but an orange one. also the fuel pipe on the carb end was very soft and when i touched it fuel squirted out so i replaced that too...
  12. well mine stopped running properly when i laid it up because of the snow and yet it ran perfectly before the snow arrived... the starters are fairly small and easy enough to change however if you are not confident doing it yourself get a mechanic to do it for you... you can check to see if the starter is knacered by taking out the spark plug, then plug the spark plug back into the plug cap and rest it on the engine or somewhere else metallic... then press the starter and see if the plug is sparking.. if it is then the engine is turning over and if not then its not... also you will here the piston going up and down with the plug out
  13. well when you press the strter does it sound like the engine is turning over?... from what you describe its as if the starter is not engaging properly and therefore not actually spinning the engine over , i had that on my Elyseo 100 and it was the starter which was knackered... replaced it and off she went..
  14. is the starter actually engagin properly as no reason why it should not start off the starter if it kicks first time...
  15. if it happens when ya out and about drink water and take a whizz on the frozen lock worked for me once
  16. blimey, i bet your mum loved you!! t xx Talia mi dear i did used to clean it afterwards lmao ) xx ohand i dont have a dishwasher i am not posh enough )
  17. I am gonna clean the carb out on my scoot and just wondered what you guys would suggest is the best way of doing it?... in the old days i used to strip them and boil em in mams casserole pan used to work well but is there a better way of doing it? cheers
  18. i had a gap of 27 years between riding bikes and its like i had just ridden the previosu week... comes back in the blink of an eye
  19. interestin idea Stu... i do have a spare vacuum tap and pipe so will check that as well... thanks man
  20. couldnt get into that part properly to have a look... its buried underneath the plastic panels so can do that when i take them off... still wierd how it was running perfectly before the snow arrived
  21. thats the first thing i checked mate... well when i say checked i unplugged it and sprayed it with a WD40 variant... didnt seem to do any good though...
  22. Dan i was thinkin about that just now... sprayed wd40 around the parts i could see but too be honest the idea of a bad connection may well be the one... not sure where to start like but will check out for corroded wires when i get a chance to work on it
  23. lol yeah over 3/4 tank of fuel and same with oil...it doesnt have a fuel tap so its deffo not that

    spark plug socket

had the same on my scoot when i replaced the plug... my socket set had the large and small plug sockets and the scoot was in the middle had to buy a 12mm plug socket off the bay of E which was only a few quid
  25. I hope one of you gurus can help me out here... ok so my little 2 stroke scooter has bene running like a champ all the time i have had it until the bad weather hit a few weeks ago... i didnt use it during the bad snow and ice we had although did start it every few days to keep the oily bits oily etc... as the weather has improved i decided to go out on it today and as usual it started fine but about 2 miles into my trip it just stopped for no apparent reason... managed to get it going again and continued but it happened a further 20+ times until i eventually made it home again.. best way i can describe it is that when it packs in its as if i have turned the ignition key off as it just dies on me... sometimes it backfires when tryin to start it again yet when it eventally does start it ticks over sweetly... i suspect it could be dampness gettin in the electrics or somethign liek that... what do you guys think?
