Thoughts on Kevlar jeans?
Richard replied to Raym's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I have replied to similar e-mails in the past, I have two pairs of Kevlar jeans, I have been knocked of in one set that involved a couple of broken ribs and bouncing down the road for 30 yards. I was a beaten wreck, the jeans are still fine. They were a cheaper make VOTO, but they did exactly what they said they would. Shop around, the ones I bought are great. But I would have been alot better if I had pads in but I don't use them in the jeans. TnT -

Concreted in ground anchors
Richard replied to sparkeh9's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
If you are having an inspection pit filled in when don't you do as do as Techno suggests but put two hardened bars in then you could do front and back if you so wished. Cost won't be that much higher and what you save of the anchor you can use on a second chain. -

Alpinestars SMX4 - any good?
Richard replied to hammer5's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Very small sizes so be aware. -
Fully Comp--I had two accidents 3 and 4 years ago, neither being my fault, I also ride obscure Italian bikes (group 17)that took 5 months and two months to repair and return, the storage alone that they charge would come to more than the difference in insurance. I also have a bike replacement policy ie. if I dont have my bike I get a hire bike free of charge, biggest con I have ever seen. I had the last hire bike for 63 days over summer, they charged £93:00 per day hire, the bike was rusty ( 10 month old Ducatati S2 Monster) but OK, the hire cost was £2000 more than the bike was worth new!
