    Exhaust question

Most of the time there straight slip on or bolt on, no need for any welding not cheap for a quality one! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-WR125X ... 1446493027 You need to seriously think it over, is this bike restricted? Will the new can break the restriction laws if so licence and insurance could be on the line! Moving on, are you going to be keeping the bike or is it just a stepping stone to bigger things? If the latter, l would save the money for the next bike. Another thing worth pointing out is that your going to be seriously blinging up your bike, those 125 are very high risk for theft anyway if l'm correct? This modification needs to be disclosed to your insurance company or you could seriously loose out. Hope this is of help
  2. Nice one Donnington was the same, that's the end of practicing now the next one at Brands is for real bring it on!!

    New chain

A £100 why? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/428-134-Motor ... 485e877fff Piece of cake to fit with a link, even if you have to change it every other month at those prices. Well this one should see you through until you sell it.

    New chain

Tyres, brakes and chains should not be skimped on, riding knowing you got inferior parts in any of the for mentioned departments will not build any confidence. Cheap and cheerful will always let you down just when you really need the them. You get what you pay for
  6. Hi is the motor revving clean in neutral or spluttering? is this fault immediate as soon as you go through the gears, or do's it come after a while of riding? Question question l know! It could it be that the fuel tank breather is blocked, fuel flow issues, maybe the air filter or even the exhaust might be choking the engine. Just a process of ticking them all off one by one. Hope you soon sorted.
  7. Nice one! Which units do you have Mate?
  8. First run out today solo with the BT headset blue toothed to my galaxy s3 l could not fault it, even took a phone call from Sue whilst on the M1 she had no idea l was on the bike will update when next out with a pillion
  9. Heads up Mate just a thought, the BMF rally is not too far away, always bargains to be had if you can hang on till then?
  10. Gyroscopic camera. Some very trick gear out there now, this is a brilliant recording
  11. Great on board video https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=76 ... =2&theater
  12. Don't worry about filtering - panniers don't stick out much further than your bars or knees. They do on a Busa that why l'm reluctant to ride with them, sliding through crawling traffic is a nightmare
  13. Good to hear your all sorted. Next time if your taking something apart and not quite sure what your doing, take some photo's as you go through the sequence, you then can review them and find your way back. PS Give the bike a run then recheck for leaks and levels Stay safe
  14. Lots of options out there you've got to consider all of them. Question: Are you going to carry a passenger do you go camping etc. etc. I agree that top boxes and panniers are not nice to look at but are so practical, only down side of the panniers are they make the bike wide sometimes very wide especially with a Busa. Ventura make some nice gear that's designed to go on most bikes without to much of a drama http://www.ventura-bike.co.uk/ If your riding solo l would suggest a waterproof tote bag something like this below http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... _rev/58207 These two cover most bases Just be careful what you hang off a rear carrier some of the loads l seen over the years are just plain scary! 10- 12kg is the suggested max loads for most racks, which can be soon used up! Remember balance the load, also the higher the load the more leverage is put upon yourself and bike once you go off the point of balance. Over the years l have tried almost everything! As you can see we now pull a trailer, being that we both love camping and rallies this do's it all and more! Enjoy your search
  15. Unless the crankcase is cracked broken then a fix is in order. Engines with serial numbers missing means your going to be handling stolen goods make no mistake.

    bogging out!

Go for the gasket, that's clearly a fault, get rid of that one first before you go looking elsewhere.

    bogging out!

Quite possibly Mate, any leak in the exhaust system on a 2 stroke motor will hinder it's running and performance.

    bogging out!

If its not fuel or air problems "check the spark plugs for colour that will soon tell you the state of the engine" It might just be that you not use to riding a 2 stroke. 2 strokes are re known for having a power band, once the revs drop out of the power band the engine will very quickly bog down, to get the maximum power out of a 2 stroke you've got to keep them spinning in and around the power band.
  19. Hi I'm afraid so! Make sure you have a clean container to catch the oil so that you can reuse it, normally the spring go's on the end or front of oil filter its to maintain pressure on the filter to stop it moving around in the housing, you should see a recess where the spring sits Hope this helps
  20. Hi. No change the filter there must be a separate housing for the paper filter under or at the front of the engine. That gauges filter from the sump plug will be a primary filter to catch any sworf that might be in the engine.
  21. Hi, depends on the contract of sale, if it was sold as seen then your stuffed but if it was sold fit for purpose then for sure take it back and get them to sort it. from what you have described l doubt it's brand new Chinese or not. If it is l would want it exchanging. Best of luck hope your soon sorted.
  22. The gap looks a bit on the large size from the photo's have you checked it? Colour wise looks a bit on the lean side, but it's a fuel injected motor, not something you can play with to be honest. A new plug and check the gap would be my call.
  23. Here you go mate simple enough! http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/engine/plugs.html Being a 4 stroke your motor is not prone to fowling plugs but as said it's a place to start. You might want to check the tick over adjustment also, if set to low the motor will have a tendency to stall.
  24. Hi Mate we could do that but its good to have a another set of ears and eyes on the nav side of thing , also its just another device that need charging, the Samsung sits enclosed with it own permanent supply whilst on the bike. Will keep you posted
  25. Joy! got the system all set up only to find my Samsung S3 phone will only allow one Bluetooth component at a time to connect to it Looks like the only way round it is to connect a blue tooth transmitter to the phone so that we can both listen in to the satnav and music. Hopefully this should do the job http://www.amazon.co.uk/TaoTronics%C2%A ... ransmitter
