  1. Anybody going tomorrow? I'll be on black GSX with a silver Transit in pits. Come and say hello?
  2. They are a lot more expensive, as are parts and spares. They also leak oil and breakdown frequently. Find a classic Japanese bike.
  3. So you can have a go at people for putting lights on their bike and call them a chav and I can't suggest that someone do the blindingly obvious?
  4. Looks a bit oily to me. Does it blue smoke for a few minutes from cold, then clear up? You may have leaking valve seals or a leaking head gasket, leaking oil into the combustion chamber. That's if îts definitely not carb related.
  5. Is the plug just sooty that can easily be wiped off, or is it harder and baked on? Is there any blue smoke coming from the exhaust?
  6. Don't assume anything. If you want to fix it , eliminate the obvious. Just because the lever moves , doesn't mean the choke is working properly..
  7. If it starts better without choke, checkout the choke mechanism and circuit.
  8. Well do the obvious again then?
  9. What is the state of the air filter? Does it need choke to start?
  10. Why don't you just run the engine again once all the cleaning water has drained away or evaporated. FFS
  11. I'll be racing my GSX1170 again , from about 1000 until 1800ish. Would be nice to see some of you there. https://www.facebook.com/events/399805653950815/?ti=as
  12. Have a look at the alternator stator windings?
  13. FFS Try the different positions and see what happens.
  14. I'd go full stainless system if the standard headers are mild steel. They always rust at the collector.
  15. Yup, may be a coincidence, or could be water in the fuel. Drain it into a clear container and let it settle.
  16. Gotta be worth a try and may take a few goes. Not sure how cleanable fuel injectors are using the manual method.
  17. Clutch dragging. Make sure getting full disengagement from clutch lever and actuator. If not , strip the clutch .
  18. Ready for Brighton speed trials again
  19. I use a front wheel cradle and two tiedowns in my transit. You'll need at least two tiedown points. I use the front seats of my minibus..
  20. Sag should be 25 to 35 mm at the front. To adjust sag , remove fork top nuts and add more oil. This reduces the air gap and stiffens the front end.
