  1. Clutch normally runs in a bath of oil and you can't smell it burning. Slip it enough and you will warp the steel plates and wear away the friction plates. Probably an easy fix for a half decent mechanic?
  2. Yep, the clutch is still slipping. If you keep riding it, you will destroy it!!!
  3. Yep, a cork or tapered rubber bung with a smear of silicone to fill up the threads on the engine.
  4. I bought a cover for one of these for £42 inc postage off eBay http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004 ... d_i=468294 Gonna try to build the hoops out of plastic conduit for around £25. No security needed around my place.
  5. Most of these containers don't look big enough to get on and off the bike when it's in, and on the sidestand. Something with foldable sides and a roof would be good, but this would make it less waterproof and expensive. OK if you have absolutely no room for a bigger shed, but another foot or two wider makes a big difference.
  6. It freed off because you rode through a puddle??? I think you have another problem just around the corner mate. Get it sorted properly will ya?
  7. If you want to do it , you'll find a way mate. I'm here to help , but I haven't got the bike in front of me. Where are you?
  8. So just the one big hole then? I'd sugest rubber mounting it and bolting a 8mm bolt to a bracket bolted to those two fairing mounting bolts. Do me an accurate scale drawing and a cardboard model and I'll make one outta stainless?
  9. DID X ring Gold chain and Renthal sprockets.
  10. Need to see mounting options on gadget, for it mate. Post pix and I could make you a polished stainless bracket. Looks like use fairing mounting bolts or wraparound fork brackets.
  11. Why not do what I said? It's worked for me for over 30 years?
  12. Replace the spark plug ???
  13. Just try tapping it at an angle with a drift or broad ended screwdriver and a hammer. One sharp tap usually does it.
  14. So what's wrong with making yer own?

    Rust

That,s how they sell them. They build a really good looking bike to tempt new riders, but the quality, longevity and spares back up just isn,t there. Look at resale prices.

    Rust

m312. is that stuff abrasive? If the chrome is thin and rusting already, then it won't last long with an abrasive polish. Solvol Autosol is a brilliant polish, but it is also abrasive. Try to find a non abrasive polish, especially with thin chrome, but you are only slightly delaying the inevitable. as soon as you can, go stainless.

    BRAKES!

If you're going to replace old pads with new DO NOT PUSH PISTONS INTO CALIPER until you have first pumped them out a few millimetres, cleaned all the crap off them and polished them. Apply a smear of Red rubber grease before pushing them in. Pushing dirty pistons into caliper will damage your seals and jam the pistons so you can't push them in.

    Rust

You won't get rid of the rust, just slow it down a bit. Exhausts also rot from the inside, so being as your bike is Chinese, I think, it will very soon dissolve into a heap of ferous oxide. Either buy a replacement stainless exhaust or better still unload it onto some poor, unsuspecting dealer and buy a decent Japanese bike.
  19. Could be a bent pump shaft, dodgy bearing or casing. Expensive, but replace with brand new pump, with a warranty?
  20. So not a threadless bolt then ?
  21. What is a threadless bolt?
  22. Put them in a waterproof, sealed plastic box , behind the headlight, in a fairing or under the tank.
  23. Put soapy solution on valves and around rims. Avoid getting on tyre treads.

    Help!!

NOOOOOOO. Drain the oil. Allow air into and out of crankcases via oil filler and oil drain plugs. Pull fuel line off fuel tap , put a little fuel in tank. If no fuel flow, put fuel line back on. Remove plugs and turn engine over to check for fuel in cylinders. If all is good, replace oil drain plug and put oil into engine. Spin over with plugs out. Drain oil, check for fuel in it. If no fuel in oil, put it back in engine , replace plugs and start engine. Tap carb float bowls with wood to hopefully unjam a stuck float bowl. Fuel should not have got into engine unless fuel valve is faulty and carb bowl stuck. Bell me ?

    Help!!

If there is a chance of fuel in the oil, best to drain the oil, before turning over.
