  1. If you want help or advice, PM yer number for a chat?
  2. I can pop up to ashford from my place in Northiam. Is it carbed or injected? TAGG racing near Bethersden are good guys.
  3. Try a forum then eBay first, if nothing suitable then try breakers. Very few, new, Honda parts are reasonably priced.
  4. If there's no Haynes manual, there could be a Kawasaki workshop or Clymer manual. Which Z1000 is it? I had an ST in 82
  5. Course it would. The engine gets hot you know?
  6. Nobody seems to do what I do. Get the alloy around the bolt/stud very hot, then spray the bolt/stud with Plumbers Freeze spray, then jiggle the bolt a bit. Repeat this at least 3 times or until the bolt/stud comes loose. Never failed me yet.
  7. What Bob said. I am still using a Fireblade rad with KSeal it in it. Never had a problem with cooling since.

    ignition barrel

Usually held on with security bolts. Screwfix sell a set of bits for a fiver.
  9. Doesn't sound like an electrical problem to me?
  10. Welcome streethawk9081, you have pm.
  11. Most tanks breath through the filler cap, but some have a tube from the filler cap area that exits at the rear underside of the tank, near the carbs. There is often an overflow drain pipe here that drains the area under the filler cap when you overfill. When I remove the Fireblade tank I have to remove 4 tubes, fuel, vacuum, breather and drain!!!!
  12. What Bob, Tango , said. It is not a breather pipe, it is a vacuum pipe, connected to the low pressure side of the carbs or cylinder head inlet stub. . A breather pipe is a connection to atmosphere, usually open ended. Check any breather pipes between engine and atmosphere or engine and airbox. If they are blocked, it could cause your engine to pressurise and cam seals to leak worse. Also check, AS said that tank breather is working or not blocked/pinched.
  13. Why book it in? Fix it yerself and save money? Sounds like pilot/idle jets to me. Strip carbs and give em a good clean. Also check fuel tap filter isn't partially blocked.
  14. Not southeast enough for me mate. Move it towards Rye or Wessons cafe in Horam and I could meet you?
  15. Put a piece of steel under the engine when you cut the headers, just in case. Buy a digital micrometer, about £8 on eBay or Aldi/Lidl. Measure O/D of headers at the collector and I/D of inside of Harris collector inlet tubes. Adaptors are easy to make. Gimme a bell if you need help or I can do it for you?
  16. What Klingelton said, do your own servicing. You know it's been done then. If not sure about anything, ask on here or gimme a bell?
  17. Looks like a wire wool filled catch tank to drain oily fumes out of the air filter box/and or the crankcase breather. Be nice to find out what it's connected to ?
  18. Anything can be done, just depends how much you want to spend. No pix then ?

    Radiator leak!

Told you. I do know a bit about bikes.
  20. Some pix and measurements would be handy. In theory you could fit the Neta headers, cut off or remove the headers from the collector and then slide the Harris collector over the Neta headers. It depends on the angle and position that the headers enter the collector. If the headers don't fit into the collector, we could make adaptors or modify it until it does fit.

    Radiator leak!

Can't remember what the mixture is , but I followed the Kseal instructions to the letter and have had no cooling/leakage problems since.

    Radiator leak!

Check on container, think it's a 2 or 3 to 1 mix. I used hot water in a 2 litre pop bottle. Fill your cooling system up with tap water and drain into a measuring container(pop bottle) or check a workshop manual. I had loads left.

    Radiator leak!

Thanks Bob. No offence taken mate, but give us some idea of the leak rate/size of the hole and if not too big, at least try KSeal it. It's not thick and gloopy like Radweld.Costs about £10 a half litre and you get about 3 systems worth when mixed with water. If it doesn't work, then spend a lot more on a repair or a new rad?

    Radiator leak!

Like I said, I used it on a Fireblade system and have had no further problems. Please yerself if you don't believe me, just don't expect any more informed advice from someone that has been working on bikes for 37 years .
